Scrapped animatics showcased the day of unity being about transporting the body to earth and having it come back to life.Belos spent centuries trying to put stability and order to the Isles, which in the original drafts of the show was supposed to be an absolutely wild and savage place that arguably did need Belos to have a civilized society. Phillip Belos has no reason to keep running this society and making sure its population is following his principles and ideas. Much less, he would hate all magic but season 1 Belos exclusively ranted about wild magic and only wild magic. His populations agreed with him on these matters and already did let him mark them and their children for centuries. To which he doesn’t take advantage of for centuries for some reason. And his whole coven order is literally based on making a functional body.Not to mention, Belos is supposed to be a Lich by his archetypal necromancy going on and is filled by whatever makes the talismans alive. His body is literally wood and the talismans are literally wooden animated creatures. He literally has his own nose and so they shove in the explanation to it by fucking attacking Phillip’s nose and have it be permanently deformed for some reason despite the resources Phillip has.Nothing about Phillip Belos makes any sense. It contradicts both characters with contradictory lores and character designs. Belos being Phillip’s grim walker son would’ve been much better and better paralleled him with Luz because he would’ve wanted to see earth, what would be a mere fantasy land in Phillip’s stories.
