the Netflix reanimated version makes it seem like Nat had no idea what she wanted this show to be besides a few vague sketches and concepts drawn up about puppycat’s backstory. All the changes are weird and bad to me, Bee being a robot was a good twist because it wasn’t obvious, the reboot makes everyone comment on how shes immortal and weird from the get go, but why? What’s the point? Why axe the romance? The world being normal seemed to be a pretty major part of it since bee needs money for rent, but the Netflix version completely changes the way everything looks because the town is actually a spaceship

i still haven’t seen the netflix version so i don’t know what line deliveries or minor visual changes there are between that and the leaked season 2, but i stand by the fact that B&PC season 2 is one of my favorite cartoons of all time. it’s absolutely the best example of the soft pastel cartoons of that era. the way they handle the dialogue where it’s all mumbly and earnest is really great, no shitty anime dub performances here. toast and bee are two of the hottest girls in animation and i pray someday we’ll get a bit more from the story, but even if it’s never concluded im very happy with what we’ve got. it feels like a webcomic in cartoon form and achieves that way better than any of the other shows that could have been that.

well given its sporadic release schedule over several years then a reboot that happened when most people werent looking, it's easily forgettable.

The pilot in 2013 was the most memorable part.

It's pure millennial wank at the end of the day and will be lost to time along side other millennial shows that just sort of existed in this weird flux state.

Bravest Warriors is another show that went nowhere, got rebooted and no one cared as it was on some obscure ass service no one watched, but it didnt matter as it lost any of its initial charm as well.

Finally, another anon who actually liked the show. I watched the YouTube series and the Netflix one and I enjoyed it. I'm not surprised that it's forgotten in 2026. Every revision just took away more and more of what people liked about it, in exchange for making everybody more annoying and some dumb mystery that anybody who watched episode 10 of the webseries could've mostly figured out. It's like somebody heard people talking about the whole mystery/unfinished reveal from the earlier versions, and thought that a new series devoted to JUST THAT and removing everything else was what everybody wanted.

It probably didn't help that every version was just a remake of the last, so it wasn't as if it's SEASON 1 and then SEASON 2 and then SEASON 3 and you didn't like S3 but were fine with the show overall. No, they all cover the same content, so not only are people going to compare them for their favorite version, but they get to directly compare the same events in each version and see how they got progressively worse each time.
