When I was young, it was full of legitimate old hippies, and sexy young girls acting like hippies. Every now and then you'd see a topless girl too. It was great. Now it's just become a generic crafts fair more or less. With a new sign saying the traditional hippy drum circle was no longer allowed in the festival area itself, because it was deemed cultural appropriation.

If you go to Little Beach on Maui, you see a lot of these hippie types. I'd say Maui if the most white hippie of the islands. While Oahu and Big Island are more controlled by Asians and Native Hawaiians. I'm a Japanese guy living in the US, and I actually go to the Buddhist temple on Sundays.
