ERM actually they don't look like that they have feathers like birds, way smaller, and probably chirp instead of roaring.
Rexes are more likely scavengers too btw

When science stops making things less cool I'll hear what it has to say. Until then they can shut up.
>>
To some people scientists aren't trying to discover what's what or how things work, they are just silly nerds who have the job of uncovering what your powerful intuition already "knows." For example: dinosaurs are cool, and so science is doing its job properly when it reinforces this, and is failing to do its job when it doesn't. Part of it I guess is there is also this ingrained idea that changing your ideas or opinions makes you weak. You need to stand steadfast behind them no matter what, even when it is objectively wrong.

New research says T rex didn't have feathers but it also didn't roar. It probably made really low bass tones that we wouldn't be able to hear, like a subwoofer. It also couldn't run maybe more than 11 miles per hour because it'd be too heavy and snap its legs. So it probably just powerwalked after prey.

I wish dinosaur analog horror didn't feel so lazy.
It feels like 90% of it hinges on the viewpoint character making the worst decisions possible if there;s a found footage element, or OH NO CARNIVORES EXIST VISUAL DISTORTIONS on the the more text and image-based ones.
I still don't get how people like that fucking Lost World "San Diego Incident" one. Like, objectively, all my ability to take it seriously went out the window the moment that the guy got safely inside, away from any windows, went upstairs, saw the Rex outside the window, and thought the winning play was "Run towards the T-rex to close the blinds" Fucking retarded.
Even the "good" shit all has some random fucking fatal flaw holding it back because it's trying too hard to be unique.
Weird birds was great but then it went too far off the rails with weird shit
I saw one that had potential, modern-surviving dinosaurs who used human mimicry to hunt us specifically, and them being the reason for the uncanny valley effect, but the creator literally abandoned the idea before it even started and only posted the scraps of their idea phase.
Prehistoric Emergence, I keep hearing is good, but it just fails to grip me every single time I try to watch it.

Is analog horror a fancy new word for found footage
>>
>>153878762
Analog horror is basically just any horror project that uses less modern means to convey the story.
VHS and film-grain is kind of the generic base-line, but things like tape-recordings, old-style photographs, security camera footage.
You know, analog forms of media instead of the more modern digital ones. Old shit. It's meant to blend horror with nostalgia, in a sense.
Found footage often bleeds over into analog horror, old VHS tapes, etc. But not all found footage is analog horror.
>>
>>153877354
>didnt roar
shit like this and any claims surrounding behavior or intelligence are basically just clickbait because they are complete conjecture based on a fundamentally incomplete picture

>>153878308

>>153884251
This is one of those popular dino misconceptions, actually.
Like, Carno absolutely COULD have been fast, we have material to suggest strong muscle anchors on its tail to its legs, but build-wise, it probably wasn't especially faster than any other abelisaur.
Its legs probably weren't especially long compared to similarly sized animals as far as we can tlel, so Carno being fast is mostly a dino-meme based entirely around those tail-to-leg muscles.
Kind of like how people reconstruct Kaprosuchus (boar croc) with super long legs, but it probably wasn't much different from modern crocodiles with longer legs
Honestly, any time a new discovery is made, a paleo-artist will exaggerate that discovery, and then it just becomes the public's full interpretation of that animal.

>What IS the premise and what went wrong?
NTA but the premise is that future Earth is an inhospitable shithole due to pollution and such. But instead of going the Avatar route and finding a planet of blue cat people to colonize, the idea this time is to go back in time to settle in the Jurassic period. Yes, Carnotaurus is a Cretaceous animal so the accuracy angle is already falling apart. Realism was probably never the intent though, as they also include fictional dinosaur species later on in the show. It's been years since I watched it, but if I remember right the problem was that there was too much human melodrama with the MC's family inside the settlement. Probably cause CGI dinosaurs was too expensive for them so they had to fill up episodes with humanshit to pad time.
>>
>>153886552
They did it better in the Mufasa movie. The movie was still shit, but they know how to make them emote with realistic faces and not look hideous while doing it now.

I actually think that the weird inconsistencies with time period were intentional.
Unless I remember wrong, which I very much might be, the hook at the end before it got cancelled was that it was revealed that there's some weird time bullshit going on in general, like, didn't they find like, a sphinx or some other ancient human bullshit at the end, suggesting some kind of weird time warp shenanigans? Land of the Lost-style? I only watched it once but I vividly remember this.

Damn you're actually right, looked it up and they find a part from an 18th century ship in the Jurassic. Clever as fuck foreshadowing if it was intentional. No idea how the entire season cliffhanger flew over my memory. Only thing I recalled from the finale was the MC bringing a juvenile Carnotaurus to the present/future to kill people.
