Fellas is he right?

There's nepotism in the industry, right? You don't actually gotta learn how to draw yourself dont ya?
>>
>>153870523
The issue is the creation of internet fandoms in the 2000s, creating an incestuous and exaggerated self-referencing culture.
>>
>>153870523
just a normal guy with a fucking smoking hot GF
>>153870608
uhhh no, the issue is that we got AWAY from that.
>>
>erm hes just a heggin guyerino
>>
>>153870523
There's literally thousands of animators quoting this post complaining that the industry is over and they wish they were Craig and this is the quote you choose to post here?
>>
>>153870608
The issue is inflated budgets for symbolic administration positions.
>>
>>153870523
Why don't they just take all the money they made off of Apple & Onion, Victor & Valentino, Unikitty, Steven Universe Future, Tig n' Seek, Elliott from Earth, The Fungies, and We Baby Bears, and use it to fund new cartoons?
>>
>>153870575
There's a ton of nepotism, particularly in California, but Californians and artists supported immigration too hard and now CalArts is getting colonized by Indians and they are starting to deny all non-Indian applicants.
But because its racist to point it out, all the current students and prospective white students have trapped themselves from being able to get rid of the Indian dean that started firing all the professors and admissions staff to replace them with Indians and the entire US animation industry is going to collapse for natives the way the software industry did.

what industry, its fucking dead

>its fucking dead

We went through an entire animation generation of fucking beanmouth trash. Its for the best that it dies. Maybe if can be remade better, later.

>Craig McCracken is considered "normal"
McCracken has always been degenerate slime who has been outdone by even more egregious specimens.
>>153870718
>Lauren Faust is "smoking hot"
Lauren is barely above "pretty," she's only attractive to pathetic nerdy men who think that there's a chance for them to find success.
>>
>>153871869
Modern cartoons being beanmouth trash is the consequence of the industry dying, not the cause of it
>>
It all started when they cancelled cow & chicken and shilled Mike Lu & Og and Whatever Happened to Robot Jones upon us. And then CN real.

This. Miyazaki was right about otaku, and beyond. Every single industry is just hiring fans who have no experience outside of what they're fans of.

The greats who built the comics, gaming, anime, manga, entertainment industry in general, used to be varied people with tons of life experience to draw from. Now everyone in the arts are shut-ins with tiny imaginations who can only replicate the narrow slop they've consumed, like a bird vomiting into its babies' mouths after chewing.

Spumdonor screenshots his own tweets and posts them here. He's a loser

I remember I got into sketch comedy about 15 years ago and I really struggled because it was the first time I realized most people aren't fandom weirdos that have crazy knowledge of things and spend most of their time online. I was constantly told to tone my references down to just the bare minimum because they average New Yorker going to the sketch show isn't going to know of care off hand which James Bond movie was about the Koreans for example, just that Bond is a british agent and leave it at that. It took me a while to adjust to actually working with normal people
>>
>>153870873
i don't think you can fund a cartoon with only 3 dollars
>>
>>153870575
nepotism doesn't meet deadlines anon

must be fun driving with you tho, every time you pass an "& son" sign you're screaming out the window about nepo babies unqualified to run a business
>>
>>153870738
This but unironically. Like sure Craig is huge animation nerd but he’s not like Kyle carroza or some giga lefty that gets into fights on Twitter

>Every single industry is just hiring fans who have no experience outside of what they're fans of.
I've seen this lack of life experiences argument brought up quite within the past 16 years or so and it's got me thinking about a few things. And no, I'm not trolling by asking these.
1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that life experiences have nothing to do with watching TV, playing video games, reading comics, and such, right?
2. Does venting about things like "generational trauma" and strict upbringing count as life experiences? Those seem to pull from a person's life even if those moments are a bit more personal and quite a few shows and movies pull from those.
3. Do stories based off life experiences have to be semi-biographical?
>>
>>153870575
You do have to learn to draw, that’s why the rich kids consider that putting in the work to earn it, it’s the hardest thing they ever did
>>
>>153874684
>You do have to learn to draw
Lol no, remember Glitch which has a chokehold on /co/ these days got started by wiggling ripped mario models around in gmod. You need fuck all, just like do it

>It's racist to point out racism.
Ironic.

If the Spumco art style ever becomes respected again, it won’t be thanks to that faggot.
>>
>>153874055
You can smart with another man's knowledge, but you can't be wise with another man's wisdom.
>>
>>153874055
No one lacks *a* life experience, life experience is your firsthand experience so all your experiences count.
>Media intake
Your experience of engaging with it is your experience, the things that happen inside the story are not things you experienced.
>Trauma etc
Yeah of course. Fertile ground.
>Autobiography
No it doesn’t have to be.
To say someone lacks life experience generally just means a limited variety or depth of personal experiences to draw on versus using observations of other people and media, it’s comparative but not an absolute.
>>
>>153870523
Do you all wish you had a job like his?
>>
>>153872732
No, his hardcore fans like me do.
>>
>>153871078
no it aint

It's because in their world view its only racist if white people prefer their own (or if non-whites prefer whites as that counts as internalized)

Dont overcomplicate it, its books. You need to read books to be a good writer and nobody does that anymore
>>

Nope.

>Lauren is barely above "pretty," she's only attractive to pathetic nerdy men who think that there's a chance for them to find success.
I miss when we just didn't say this out loud.

>Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that life experiences have nothing to do with watching TV, playing video games, reading comics, and such, right

It doesn't. In fact all those things you've said takes place inside a person's living room and doesn't even involve socializing. The only people who prosper under those conditions are shut-ins encouraging other shut-ins. They're not even trying to gain outside perspective, so it's hilarious to imagine these people telling you life advice.
