There is going to be a new episode 5 to 10 years down the line where every abstracted character gets fixed. The abstracted Jax, Ribbit and Kaufmo playing together in the aquarium is proof that there's something still there. If my childhood cartoons can get a special finale episode 10 years after their original run then this series with a billion plus views can too. The fandom is too big, discussion too active and widespread and too many people wearing the merchandise out in the open to be forgotten.

Can't be the only one to feel this way.In 2018/19, I had a psychotic breakdown going on for months, almost died. During that, I watched MLP have an ending so shit, it made me dizzy even though my expectations had been below low, and it certainly didn't uplift my spirits. Online discussion was absolutely miserable for months, my favorite character became persona non grata on 4chan because he was made the scapegoat for bad writing. The TADC ending, from what I know (haven't watched the leak) has its flaws but tells a story I can generally get behind. I also know some kids will freak out at the cinema due to emotional overwhelm, so I'll try to console/debrief them before the feelings fester too much. I survived worse without help, but as demonstrated by Jax, not everyone is equally strong, and it's best to address things before they fester. I want them to walk out of the cinema grieving, but not hopeless, if they're greatly affected by Jax' tragic ending or the end of a series they obsessed over.

Even if Kinger's partially abstracted or something, it makes no sense that the others wouldn't have figured that out, and that he wouldn't have made it known.It being unknown seemed plausible in a world where Caine's the one who did it to him, since Caine has a lot of control over where they are at all times, meanwhile there was a plausible reason for him to have taken his eye off the ball in episode 3. But it doesn't seem like Caine had anything to do with it, so that doesn't work.It would also make sense if being lucid was painful for Kinger in some way (it does remind him of his dead wife after all) but that doesn't work either since he wilfully hangs out in his dark pillow fort all day and even in his crazy state expresses to Pomni that he's eager to get somewhere dark in episode 7.So it's not a secret and it's not undesirable. He's just hanging out lucid in the dark by himself for the majority of the series, away from everyone, for no reason. He doesn't call out for anyone to join him, and Pomni doesn't think to try.It's just a plot device that wasn't thought all the way through.
