Why are nostalgia stories with the fab five Titans consistently better than nostalgia stories with the NTT Titans?First half of 1999 Titans, Teen Titans Year One, the first couple arcs of Titans rebirth, and World's Finest Teen Titans are basically the only decent Titans stories since the late 80s.

Whenever they do fab five flashbacks it’s just them being cute friends and whenever they do fab five as adults in the present it’s just them being friends.
NTT was angst angst angst which made for good drama, but it's exhausting to keep going back to that well.

Nostalgic pieces only attempt futile throwbacks to it but don’t work as the impact feels less the second or third times.

We're talking modern stories set during a GOATed era, not the constant retreads of shitty villains DC has done with them and their legacy characters for the past 30 years. I can think of the Dark Multiverse story where Terra destroys the planet and the Convergence NTT mini, but that's it.IMO it's a wildly underrepresented era and DC fucked up hard by not capitalizing on it. I blame Didio.At a bare minimum they should have done a one-shot Red X comic set during NTTv1.
