After being "missing" for like 15 years the original Brave Little Toaster is now watchable. Disney+ got the rights FINALLY.
Why were the sequels to this angled towards like, toddlers, when the original movie was made for all ages and slightly angled towards adults?
The car junkyard killing scenes scared me so much as a child. Had nightmares for so long. It was so memorable.
What original? Did they restore a previously censored part like where the radio plays the blackface minstrel song or something?
Phil Hartman was so fucking terrifying in this movie. Him screaming was fucking like real rage.
>>153882917The one where they went to mars is actually based off of the sequel to the original book. The second book really is about them going to mars for some reason.
>>153883047Since like 1999 or something the original movie's rights were a fucking mystery. The movie wasn't sold or streaming anywhere for like 20+ years. You couldnt find it without torrent.
>>153882524it's been on youtube for years
>I CAN'T TAKE THIS KIND OF PRESSURE
>>153883105Huh. Neat. I think I had it on vhs as a kid. Also I’m pretty sure >>153883117 is right and it is/was just easily found on youtube.
>>153883117Rips of the movie I guess. But officially you couldn't find it anymore.
>>153882917Because that's where the money is
>Disney+I'd rather have a root canal through the anus than pay for that.
>>153883220You probably did, it was one of the biggest VHS movies of the 90s. I think they also used to air it on TV back then too.
>>153883001Lowkey that entire song is FIRE no cap.https://youtu.be/-UfsEj7AOGI?t=75
>>153883105It was owned 50/50 by Disney and the actual studio that made it. Disney fully owned the sequels, but not the original film, and neither party could do anything with the original because of it.
>>153882524The fact a whole theatrical animated movie from the 90's can become lost media for over a decade speaks holeyums.
>>153883680It wasn't lost media, there was just no way to watch it legally
>>153883680Was it ever out in theaters?>holeyums*volumes
>>153883073Jon Lovett was in this movie not Phil Hartman
>>153883680It's not lost media if there are 100s of thousands of VHS tapes floating around and rips of it online dumbass.
>>153883725Disney demanded the rights for it to air exclusively on their recently launched Disney Channel, which ended up torpedoing its chance for a theatrical run in the US>
>>153882524Now to see if it's the edited version that gave the blink-and-you-miss-it girl with the pasties a bikini.
>>153884849Source?
>>153884849disney+ uses international edits so they only need one copy of something on their services (like when lilo and stitch had the washing machine bit changed, or stan's fez in gravity falls blank until the symbol was revised), so i dont know why people would expect anything other than domestically edited scenes
>>153884782Well shit. I didn’t know Disney Channel was that old.
>>153882524Wake me up when there is a Bluray.
>>153883105You could watch it on YouTube but it was never officially on there.
