Is there a market for indie cartoons targeting the 6-12 demographic these days?
Honestly it feels like since the death of cable, these cartoons just don't get the same popularity anymore
Do kids cartoons only thrive in the studio system?
>>
TADC targeted the 6-12 demographic perfectly, it's just that there's a night & day disconnect between what they should watch and what they do watch
>>
>>153894343
Kids don't watch cartoons
They watch ai sloppa and streamers scream 67
>>
>>153894343
Yeah, that's literally what Glitch does
>But the characters SWEAR and mentions SEX
Yeah, exactly the kind of thing 6 - 12 year olds find funny
>>
>>153894446
>TADC targeted the 6-12 demographic perfectly
Which makes its creator all the more suspicious, given his status as a "gender"/castration cultist.
>>
>>153894617
Glitch targets teens 12-18
>>
>>153894446
I'm talking about cartoons like SpongeBob or any other Nick show
>>
>>153894635
That’s the only strat for 6-12 indie cartoons, that demo unsupervised is the moneymaker who want to watch things for older kids + being stuck on Youtube Kids kills monetization
>>
>>153894343
this had a successful kickstarter backing

>>
>>153894635
Sure they do 12 - 18 year old that's insecure he's watching a show for 6 - 12 year olds. Sure they do.

No
>>
>>153894343
No one wants to make those, and people should realize your little shit kid shouldn't be on the internet. The closest you got is that stupid Object cartoon that autists watch.

Indie fills a niche that wasn't really popular on TV or made for that matter as far as I'm aware, (I'm Lithuanian, we def don't have those kind of toons in my gay country). I guess you can say the content farm bullshit on YouTube, but does it really count?
>>
>>153894446
One of the characters said a nono word so no.
>>
>>153894343
Question: if an indie wanted to target a 13-25 chronically online demographic where would it even start without Glitch dollars? What would sucker you personally into checking it out?

Oh they sucked all of the energy and gags out of those and stopped pushing the boundaries on ratings and they lost all of their viewership
>>
>>153895915
Start with wiggling around cheaply animated ripped game models with funny voices
>>
>>153894343
if your animation is uploaded to youtube, it will be locked to youtube kids side of it. then you get like 0.25 percent of revenue if you monetize it.
>>
>>153895915
Make a cartoon so poorly written that people have to make video essays about it
>>
>>153894343
yeah, they're called object shows
and i know what im saying is true, because i've only ever seen children watch them
>>
>>153894446
Nah, bright colors and no blood or real swearing doesn't automatically make something good for 6-12 year olds. You also have to consider the ratio of action on screen to yapping about feelings and stuff. Steven Universe pushed in the latter direction as much as it could but I'm pretty sure TADC is even more on the yapping side, beyond what most preteens could tolerate
>>
>>153894617
This. Crazy how vivzieslop and glitch fans cry about how "adult" they are.

There are certain indicators of who the real audience of a franchise is
>>
>>153894343
No, the 6-12 demographic is reserved on live action or MeTV Toons.
>>153894446
TADC is far too adult for the 6-12 market.
>>153894595
Kids don't watch ai sloppa and streamers scream 67, they watch scripted and informative shows such as Game Sack, The 8-Bit Guy, What's Ken Making, Retro Recipes and LGR.
>>153894635
No, they don't, they aim 18-24 year old women.
>>153894945
Not the case.
>>153895716
It's 20 times worse in Japan where all kids have are the hyper long runners.

At least Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly is a improvement as that is recent and still getting episodes.
>>
>>153896590
Kids don't watch that.

Kid however do what this.
Yes, he did buy the Commodore brand, and he did produce new C64s powered by FPGAs.
>>
>>153896660
>, they watch scripted and informative shows such as Game Sack, The 8-Bit Guy, What's Ken Making, Retro Recipes and LGR.

kids don't watch that either you stupid retard.
>>
>We need more cartoons for teenagers
>Glitch: Okay, here you go
>Noooo not like that! They're in a weird spot between children and adults media!
What the fuck do you people even want?
>>
>>153896723
YES THEY FUCKING DO!!!!

I have 3 kids and all they do is talk about Joe Redifer and Clint Basinger, people who post long formed (videos are over 30 minutes), scripted and informative videos, not slop, kids hate that.
>>
>>153895915
If I wanted to sucker 4chan into supporting my show I would make sure it’s actually good and then use an ARG to leak it here long before the release so /co/ feels like it got in on the ground floor of something good
>>
>>153896762
Those cartoons are aimed at 18-24 year old women, teens only watch cartoons made before the 1970s, just like their adult counterparts.
>>
>>153894617
Cartoon autists have a seriously distorted idea of what general audiences outside of the S&P controlled kids tv setting would consider mature or appealing
>>
>>153896272
Ok

>>153896309
>>153896324
>>153896783
Problem is I'm not an animator, I just have an illustrated webnovel that'd make a good indie but promoting books is hard

it's such a pain in the ass
>>
>>153896960
Promoting them? Or reading
>>
>>153896762
Personally, I want children off my side off the internet. Even this site is riddled with teens.
>>
>>153897225
promoting
>>
>>153894343
Nope
The standard cable kids tv cartoon is dead
>>
>>153897285
Oh ok, yeah, it's a nightmare. It's like you're either litrpg, romance/erotica, fantasy, or dead in the water if you're anything outside of that. Esp if you're self-publishing

I'm trying to promote with tiktoks of my characters but I kinda think it's impossible to convince a chronically online, non-reader demo to actually read
>>
>>153897336
MeTV Toons will like to have a word with you.
>>
>>153897489
qrd?
>>
>>153897883
He's a local schizo, don't indulge him
>>
>>153897883
A over the air TV channel that gets over 40 million views a day, and in the age of streaming where over the air TV is dying thats quite a accomplishment
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MeTV_Toons
>>
>>153894446
Ironically, if TADC dialed back the queer therapy time and put more horror and mystery in their show, the show would have been 10x as successful and 100x as cancerous.
>>
>>153897989
Not the case, read >>153898021
>>
>>153895716
Imagine being so fucking incompetent that you are unable to sell cartoons to children lmao
>>
>>153894635
Then why does the YouTube algorithm slop for TADC come out the same way as it does for shit like Garten of Banban and Sonic?
>>
>>153898050
Too many years of Tumblr hires making cartoons for themselves first, their clique second, and kids last.
>>
>>153898087
>Tumblr hires making cartoons for themselves
Just like in OP's image.

There are currently nine(9) The Amazing Digital Circus threads up.
>>
>>153898182
TADC was designed to tickle the YouTube algorithm's balls.
>>
>>153894343
In Glitch's and Spindlehorse's case, the target audience must have access to creditcard and order stuff. The indie scene is basically a hobby scene and 6-12 age groups are not capable of running such scenes.
