>11 films were submitted for Best Animated Feature award in 2004, meaning that the academy had to choose 3 films as nominees>they chose The Incredibles, Shark Tale, and Shrek 2Did they get it right?
>>153897153Yeah
Believe it or not, this was theatrical
>>153897153I would've put Polar Express or the Spongebob movie over Shark Tale
>>153897153You already have a thread one page down, Sharkfag. Is there any thread that is engaging enough that aren't same 5 threads everyday?
It's weird how this was theatrical, yet the Kim Possible/Phineas & Ferb films weren't
Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence not getting nominated is understandable. Your Name tho? Unforgivable
>>153897153>The Incredibles, Shrek 2Hell yes>Shark TaleFuck no
>>153897801lol kuboponyo wasn't nominated either
>>153897601Actually, from what I've heard, Kim Possible's movie was pitched as a theatrical movie, but Disney decided to push it to TV instead, ironically in response to Teacher's Pet's failure.Phineas and Ferb nearly got a theatrical movie from the 2011 Muppets movie guys............ As a live action/CGI hybrid movie. Still baffling Teacher's Pet got a movie before any other DTVA show got one and it crashed and burned either way.
>>153897601I'll never understand what kind of backward nepotism made Disney push this specific show.
>>153897801Your name has a intersting set up (two strangers wake up in each othe bodies) but is too weird of a story to work. (Invisible force swaps people bodies through time and space to save a town from getting hit by an asteroid)
kek westoids still talk like it has some credibility
>one of the most impressive voice casts in an animation movie ever (at the time at least)>excellent lyrical soundtrack by many music artists>tells an original and not that simple storyline with some adult themes>wide variety of character designs and species>facial animation by a team of 2D animators who recently went through CG retrainingShark Tale deserved the nomination more than Polar Express and SpongeBob
seriouslly tho, oscars snubbing anime or japanese movies in general can't really be a bad thing for japan, but it can be a bad thing for themselves and hollywood because it can make them look even more hypocritical
>>153898432Sharktale autist delivering the finest bait for the fishies.
Academy didn't nominate The Simpsons Movie. Why would a Spongebob movie have better luck?
I miss the times when I thought that "Now That We're Men" was an original melody created for the moviehttps://youtu.be/XDG9NaicqZU?si=-ULwFwtyAQA97ZWY
Can't argue with that
