Iirc, ironically, most of them were around their mid 20s for the most part. But that was comic stuff, don't think Go! Or the original 03 show mentioned that.

That always seemed to depend on the writer and the medium. Otto Binder always treated them as two separate people. Some modern interpretations portray CM as still having Billy's level of maturity.

It's a secret to the public, but it's an open secret to most of the hero community nowadays.
One doesn't really think about it, but secret identities among heroes don't really exist anymore, they're all very casual about it now.

Where do you think Miracleman got its inspiration from?
Read old Captain Marvel stories, they don't really make a big deal out of it, but it does read like when Billy transforms, Captain Marvel is a whole different person.
It wasn't until, I think Justice League International, that Billy and Cap were explicitly portrayed as the same, but don't quote me on that, might've been earlier.
