According to the writers Hulu hasn't renewed Futurama for more seasons, so the one coming in August is going to be the last (AGAIN) What went wrong with Hulurama?
>>153917447Streaming. They really only have a few options to make back money. Not as easy to make ad revenue as it was on tv.
>>153917447It's pretty simple. It just wasn't funny.
>>153917447On top of just not being funny, it felt desperately unnecessary. By the end of the CC seasons, the story felt finished. Drawn out, even. But definitely finished. There was pretty much no reason to revive it outside of a cashgrab and it showed.
>>153917447It wasn't funny; which is the worst thing a comedy series can do.
>>153917447Everything went wrong
>>153917853
>>153917447So do you think this will be the final revival?
>>153917983
>>153918099Hopefully
>>153918099Honestly I hope so. Futurama was probably my favorite show growing up, I would watch it every night on original run adult swim and jt was great. Then the movies came out, and I loved and had a great time with them ( wild green yonder no so much but still alright) Then it came back on comedy central and I kinda was ehhhh its still ok. And when it ended there I was pretty satisfied. The huturama came, and my only thought was "why?" I wasn't angry or hateful to the series, I was simply indifferent. There were a few good jokes but nothing i felt they needed to make multiple mew seasons. So personally Futurama ended on comedy central. But hopefully this is the final season. As for me im just gonna keep watching my season 1-4 dvds
>>153918184Yeh
>>153917447Wasn't Hulu supposed to merge with Disney+ months ago?
>>153917447>What went wrong with Hulurama? The writers
>>153917447There's no reason to continue the show after the series finale. Idk why corporations insist on bleeding every property dry
>>153917447I thought the last season was a marked improvement, it'd be a shame if the one coming is actually back to being really good and then it ends. Personally I think they should just try and definitively give it an ending, maybe with a movie special, all the VA's are getting too old to do the voices anyway.
>>153921174They had, what, 3 finales before this? Just let it rest already. Futurama used to be better than the Simpsons just because they it felt like it had actually ended and you could appreciate it for what it was. But with each revival, it just got more and more dull, with the latest one being the absolute worst offeder. With every revival, I cant help but feel like the Fox execs who cancelled it the first time had a point.
>>153917447>What went wrong with Hulurama?Literally the same exact thing that went wrong with every single season after The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings: half the jokes didn't land, the stories sucked, nobody making them really understood the magic of the first seasons, and there was no demand for "more Futurama."It's better to just let the fire die out instead of dumping raw sewage on the embers hoping it'll burn, and that's a lesson that has eluded everyone since 2003.
>>153917447Leela didn't flash her fat tits to the camera.
>>153917447It's getting close to a ship of Theseus situation frankly, if you keep losing half your writers every revival and you have to even start recasting roles because of either death or fear of backlash you start to end up with a show that resembles what you started with less and less
>>153917983Leelass
>>153917447>What went wrong 1) Disney/Hulu overestimated how many people actually care about Futurama in current year, especially when at the time this latest revival premiered adultswim already had a sci-fi comedy AND a workplace comedy that both eclipsed Hulurama in popularity. 2) Streaming doesn't bring in as much money as broadcast TV (lack of new DVD sales play into that). 3) Streaming services notoriously don't give shows a greenlight in the hopes of investing in them long-term. Awarding Futurama 40 bonus episodes before getting bored and tapping out sounds on par for Hulu. 4) Hulurama just plain wasn't that good overall. Only the most committed diehard fans actually watched more than two episodes, let alone "seasons." Rough sex with Leela and Amy.
>>153917447People are burnt out on Futurama, it used up all the public goodwill it had a long time ago
it's still going??
>>153921645Who has the bigger ass? Leela or Amy?
>>153917447>According to the writers Source?
>>153922603Leela normally, Amy when she gets fat.
>>153922603I'd say Leela
>>153918099It has to be. You can only force people to engage with a franchise for so long before it starts becoming sad. I really hope Cohen, Groening, and their team were humbled enough to actually treat this as if it's the ACTUAL final farewell. 'Cause one thing I can't stand is a franchise that doesn't know when to wrap it up for good.

>>153918254This
>>153922706I bet Leela does squats for the express purpose of growing a huge booty.
>>153922706Correct
>>153918163Leela >>> Amy
>>153922753lol at them scrambling to throw together a Disenchantment crossover since this might've been their last chance to try such a thing
>>153922653How about when Leela gets fat, though?
>>153925842Then she's bigger.
Having people like Ziglar write your show. Most of the good chapter were from the old guard
>>153922753Cohen should have use most of the ideas of those season on a new show.
