>More resistant to damage than Superman or Goku
>Completely fearless because he knows he cannot be killed by anything
>Balanced by the fact that he is an idiot who is easily tricked or mislead, sometimes by himself

This is actually genius.
>>
He is near-invulnerable for sure, but like Superman and Goku he is weak of mind.
>>
>>153919073
That's the Doctor Manhattan deal. He's ultra powerful, but too weak-willed to really do anything about it. He's commanded by everyone else, including his future self.
>>
>>153919073
I am still thinking about a Tick x One Punch Man crossover comic where Arthur gains "monster-ification".
Any volunteers wanna get sued with me?
>>
>>153921114
not familiar enough with, or interested in OPM, otherwise totes.
>>153919073
damage resistant, sure, but both Goku and Superman completely 'mog' him, as the young people say, in mobility. All you have to do is hit Tick hard enough and he's gone. Out of your hair for the amount of time it takes him to flag a taxi to get back to you. And if you happened to have taken his arms with a crazy arm-taking machine? Well, now what's he gonna flag the taxi with?
>>
>>153919073
blue looks good on him you hafta admit
>>

Problem with that is Saitama isn't an idiot. He's at worst average intelligence with maybe some hints of autism.

Maybe Ben can get Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer back and work on a new Tick cartoon series aimed at adults (not in the gross out /sex joke / hyper violent sense)
>>
>>153919073
>one cartoon series
>two live action series
no chainsaw vigilante, no man eating cow, no Paul the samurai, no Oedipus , no ninja world
jeez
>>
>>153923409
I would watch the FUCK out of a new Tick show.
The trouble is, is there anything left to really say about the cape genre? the Amazon series did a wonderful job jamming its elbow gently into the ribs of big-budget live action films, but those have become a fucking dumpster fire, so at this point it'd be punching down. At best, it could REconstruct, but that's not really what The Tick is for, nor what Publick and Hammer specialize in. I mean kind of. They reconstruct a ~little.~

in any case, the big question is, would Townie come back as the Tick, or would Peter continue? Like, obviously he's gonna be IN the show regardless. He's too versatile. he can do too many hilarious character voices not to be.
>>
>>153921114
That'd be great, I immediately thought about a crossover with OPM when I saw the thread.
>>
>>153923440
Man-eating Cow was in the cartoon, and fought offscreen in the sitcom for budget reasons.
And while the Amazon series may not have had Oedipus, it did have a blinded guy with issues, so.. that's at least partial credit.
>>
>>153919134
>Weak of mind
Intellectualism is only one aspect of mind.
The Tick successfully escaped the world's most comfortable chair. His willpower and mental fortitude are staggering.

>>153923580
Yeah they have a lot of stand-ins for whatever each version can't use.
and at least the game of the cartoon had Paul the Samurai and 'Night of a Million Zillion Ninjas' I mean you can't fault them there.
>>153923617

>>
>>153919073

The Tick is also balanced around the fact that the villains re just as inept as him and their evil plans are liable to be robbing a grocery store of all the vegetables or sending Arthur threatening letters, or just showing up in public and yelling, rather than anything actually villainous.

yeah you can really see how the Venture Bros guys cut their teeth.
They wanted to see if such ridiculous villains could exist but in a more grounded world. And they managed to come up with some hilarious and believable concepts. Like these are basically just rich assholes with an axe to grind and a really flamboyant way of expressing themselves, who are tolerated by governments and law enforcement because it's better than the alternative, where they just dress regular and shoot normal bullets at random people.

There's also stuff that could potentially be considered parodies like TMNT. And non-/co/ properties like One Punch Man.

>>
>>153925212
Yeah. They had already committed to season 2 of the Tick when the rights to the Boys became available and with Seth Rogen and the creator of Supernatural backing it they dropped the Tick and gave the Boys 5 seasons upfront. Keep in mind Bezos wanted to drop a fuck ton of money on a fantasy series to compete with Game of Thrones so his people were really cautious with their budget. So basically Seth Rogen and Rings of Power killed the Tick.

>A struggle as old as time. But with a beat you can dance to. And as the sun rises on a new day in the city, so rises a new hero. A precious balloon of hope girding his loins, making ready for the fight. He may be on the compact side as heroes go, but that's just the way destiny crumbles her cookies. It's not supposed to be easy. It's not supposed to be comfortable. It's supposed to be dangerous. And interesting. That's the hero's journey. That's why they get up in the morning. To go mano a monomyth with the darkness. To win the elixir and save the world, because villainy is real. It has guns and scars and tattoos, and it's licensed to drive. It wants nothing but to murder and take, and it's coming for them all. So two new avengers take their place on the front line. They will face evil with a song of battle in their hearts. Destiny's got her hand way, way up in their puppets. It's an unpleasant tingling. The deepest of wedgies. And its only reward is... drama!

>Every video is getting over 5k views to 10k views
>Once again all thats uploaded is mostly just X villians screen time and people in the comments posting how the tick was so based absolutely ahead of its time and how funny/witty the show was how it sucks we have never gotten a new tick series and how the comic rarely gets new stuff all we have gotten is a bad fox show that thankfully died really quickly
>But worse of all an amazon series where the creator is involved with everything. >>
>>153925421
That's a strange thing to assume too. You thought they made The Tick Amazon show WHILE The Boys was going?
>>
>>153929568
Tl;dr

The world is sick of super hero capeshit faggotree this is why the boys got popular. People knew with the TV show that yeah they would have to change a lot of shit. To get it made for TV, even if it was streaming, the boys was 2edgy4me even in the late 00's standards. But it became le shit on trump show and turned into a cringefest.

Now is the time to make a Tick "adult" animation
BECAUSE ITS THE FUCKING TICK animation wise it not like there is massive battles/fighting 247 the comic barely has huge scenes. So animating it wouldn't be difficult and costly, what makes the Tick so great is its writing this is a show where the artists, storyboard artists and animators come up with ideas&plot. But you have writers bang out the script this is another pro, by getting people not from (((pedowood))) to work on the show. By not haivng people who take pride in being(((pedowood))) writers to help write the show. It will be funny, witty&etc no matter what there will no need to inject American politics into the show and every fucking episode because all the writers have TDS and need to shove this shit into everything
>(even tho even normals are getting sick of this and international people do not give a fuck anymore talking about trump 247 is beyond mentally ill its going to be 12 years what the fuck is wrong with you people this has turned into a literal honest to god REAL mental illness TDS is no longer a meme the medical community has been talking about it a lot lately)
Having artists build the foundation of the show and writers build up from that the two of them working together. To create something completely solid is how shit should be fucking done.

The Tick could absolutely be the show to nail out a new modern standard in both adult animation as well as writing for "adult" shows not just animation but just in general.
We need the tick more than ever
People need to take it easy~
Trump derangement syndrome is scary as fuck srsly

Genius concept? hardly.

I do not hate The Tick...but I really don't enjoy the whole happy-go-lucky dumb ass thing. The Tick, Darkwing Duck, Inspector Gadget. all things exposed to plenty as a kid and all eschew. I hate these guys that just bumble-fucks their way into success, and or usually as a result of someone else's doing. Tick is a lesser of these evils but regardless - every single character in The Tick be them a hero or villain are like all on the same spectrum of infantile bumbling idiots. it gets old fast to me.
>>
>>153937993
well I'm with you on the cartoonier examples for sure. but the Tick is just an exaggeration of the blockheaded boyscout hero archetype. He's a parody, and (this is important) he's the only one in his setting who's like that.
Everyone Darkwing fights is goofy as shit, everyone in MAD is incompetent and bumbling enough that a fucking dog can take them out and Gadget can claim credit every week. Tick villains are eccentric, but at least they're taking things somewhat seriously (sometimes way TOO seriously, like... how to properly make bread, or defacing the moon with your name). and the other heroes, while quirky, have human motivations and aren't just walking speech factories. It works.

He isn't, but there is a kinda 'Johnny Bravo in a bat suit' character in the original cartoon and (even better) in the sitcom. Both of them are hilarious.
the Tick is a parody of Dudley Doo-right type superheroes, and more broadly, just a satire of capeshit in general. His sidekick is a fucking accountant who has just been wearing a costume to work for a while because, yknow, 'dress for the job you want, not the job you have' until he gets fired for it. He's just a pudgy, neurotic little Rick Moranis type, but he balances the Tick out perfectly.
