What do you think of this compilation episode?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2lla70AYz8
What's /co/ opinion on S09E01? Fights were epic but I was honestly not a big fan overall.
>>153922514Fucking loved it and I'm worried that the following episodes won't be able to recapture its quality. Animation was cool, the action was entertaining, got some decent laughs out of it (Evil Morty mocking Morty's failed attempt at fooling the Collective, Rick punking Evil Morty and his season 1-esque ranting and raving, the bunker dimension in general, and the cartoon running sound effect).Evil Morty's a fun character and every time I wonder what they could possibly do with him, they manage to find a way to make him entertaining each time he shows up. But goddamn, compare this episode to Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind and it's like watching two different shows.
>>15392251410 animation, -10 writing. Adds up to 0.
>>153922514It's the kind of episode that you enjoy but gets worse the more you think about it.
>>153922514>You remember this guy whose entire personality and goal was fucking off from the plot permanently? He's actually a needy retard who becomes completely obsessed with Rick and does retarded mistakes.Evil morty was so fucking out of character
>>153922514Great animation and fights and top tier lore episode, probably my favorite post-season 2 episode for that matter. For the most part it genuinely felt like a classic episode despite all the show's modern aspects, if only because I stayed invested the entire time and I can't remember the last time R&M did that for me. The only part that bugged me is how out of character EM felt. The thing is I get it though, Rick even lampshades it while slamming the gas to get back home, about how EM got cocky after winning so much. I can buy that. Maybe he got bored. Maybe the constant winning really did get to him. Maybe the insurance the Omega Device provided brought out his inner hedonist and he though "fuck it, Rick's my bitch now anyway" and, still being a teenage kid and a Morty, unwittingly gave into the illusion of invincibility he built up for so long. People bitch that he went back on his word and goals but I think all they needed to do was explain and visualize his change of heart better; a throwaway observation in the middle of a rabid rant probably wasn't the way to go but I guess they were pressed for time. Can't wait for the rest of the season to be a fucking wash.
>>153922514Dogshit Not even the same character Evil morty has been dogshit since he fucked off>Quick we need fans to care dig the only character we haven't ruined yet out to parade his corpseAnd now that he's ruined I wonder who they'll dig up nextNimbus probably
>>1539225148/10 episode. I can understand what they were going for with Evil Morty but I kinda wish we had an episode or something that either setup him and rick or his inferiority complex. Also is it just me or did the new VAs kind of regress? I don't remember them sounding this bad last season.
I still don’t know how anything from the central finite curve affected him when he left the first time
Evil Morty was ruined the moment he returned to fight Rick Prime. Having him be recurring at all outside of some kind of subtle nod kills all the impact of him destroying the Citadel
>>153924795I would assume that Rick taking Rick Prime out of every dimension within the CFC and gathering them up in one place caused interference just right outside the CFC where I assume Evil Morty was. Who knows, the science in this show is not written by actual scientists so we're free to come up with whatever bullshit explanation ourselves.I could probably come up with 30 questions just from climax's fight scene or I could just turn my brain off and clap.
If "ruining" Evil Morty means we get more of seasons 6-8 and less of seasons 4-5 I'm glad they did it. It's what saved Rick and Morty
I'm having fun with this show going full on Dragon Ball Z in having the characters training themselves offscreen to show off what ridiculous superpowers they've added to their arsenals after every battle.Rick has previously struggled against Evil Morty but was able to hold his own against him this time, Rick at this point probably could have beaten Rick Prime singlehandedly, and even the President went from a joke to a rival Rick takes seriously.
>>153921234I honestly think 75% of the appeal of Evil Morty is the great song they chose as his theme. I enjoyed the new episode more than any in the past few years, but that was mostly because of how well animated it was.
Seems like they understood they suck dick at comedy and instead they're focusing on action instead cause it's easier to "write". No shit it's easier to write, your storyboarders and animators do all the work and you just have to be careful not to get in their fucking way.
>>153923847They wanted to end that plot asap like they did with many others
>>153924670>Also is it just me or did the new VAs kind of regress?it's not just you. the VAs for Rick and Morty sounded like shit, everyone else did just fine. they better have better performances for the rest of the episodes.
>>1539225143/10. They ruined Evil Morty's character. I liked the prior 4 EM episodes but this one left a shitty taste in my mouth. I'm no longer hopeful about S11's EM episode
Combining what we know about c137r being special bc of empathy towards his senpaiAnd what we know about mortys drawn to (because they were bred that way) ricksIt makes sense that a morty who was fed up with his asshole rick would be tsundere for an empathic oneYeah he was cool when we thought he was fucking off for good but he's a 14yo kid estranged from his family. And still a morty
>>153926734Forgot about the word filter
This new guy completely forgot how to voice morty in season 9, rick still sounds okay, what the fuck? He can't even do the scream right.
Wabadadubdub
Fight was good, bummer that Evil Morty will be out of commission for the foreseeable future. Who knows maybe it's all set up for the return of Time God Jessica. It did get a laugh about of me when Rick yelled "We live in the bunker now Morty." after Morty did a really good "oh man"
>>153924054is this a pasta?
>>153923847>"They ruined Evil Morty! his entire character arc was about leaving the curve"Man, I remember when everyone here hated the season 5 finale because the writers spent multiple episodes setting evil morty up to be this dangerous threat only for him to do nothing and fuck off.
>>153923807>It's the kind of episode that you enjoy but gets worse the more you think about it.Pretty much this. Like I enjoy it well-enough for latter-day R&M, but it really puts a spotlight on what another anon in another thread called "Inspector Gadget Rick." To wit, the cybernetics have become like the sonic screwdriver in Doctor Who or Seven of Nine's nanites in Voyager: a be-all way to make the character more powerful/capable by fiat, leading you to wonder how real the stakes are for them. Like in The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy back in season 3, Rick's piecemeal cybernetics were made a big deal out of, and now you wonder if there is any flesh and blood left to him so to speak. It also raises the question of why the likes of the denizens of the Citadel didn't also have similar levels of cybernetics, or at least shine a light onto the implications thereof. A tool in a finger or two and an eye with enhanced scanning capabilities is fine, but when its JC Denton meets Adam Jenson meet Ryder from ME Andromeda, you start to wonder not only what actually is at stake, but why they need to build certain tools or technologies when said tools and technologies are under his skin.
>>153927066I miss season 1 rick who was proud to show off a crappy looking space ship he made out of trash from the garage and who would fuck up a love potion
>>153927129That, and it felt like his main 'superpower' was the portal gun. Hell, even as far as season 3 it was still his main advantage over even other Ricks. To me it feels like during season 3 they switched Rick C-137's strengths with the Citadels, wherein the former while capable, was still prone to fuckups and there were risks everywhere that could do him in, while the latter had the advantage of even if Ricks themselves fucked up, the Citadel as an institution was still incredibly powerful on account of being made up of Ricks...at least until The Ricklantis Mix-up, where Rick himself became incredibly powerful and the Citadel became the writer's sociopolitical pet-peeve of the day load-bearer. Think about it: When you saw Close Rick-Counters Of The Rick Kind and The Rickshank Redemption, did you get the impression that the Citadel was going to be an analogy of 2010s America? I sure-as-shit didn't, and like with the most recent episode, The Ricklantis Mix-up turned out to be>the kind of episode that you enjoy but gets worse the more you think about it.Like with Evil Morty or Rick Prime, it's the past of those things that becomes far more interesting than the present and future. I'm far more interested in what early adventures Evil Morty went on or what made Rick Prime the way he was or what the Citadel was like at its peak under the council of Ricks than I am about their or any other plot thread's futures, for example.
>>153922514Vapid and mediocre but not offensively bad so it's already better than S8 all by itself. Low bar, but still.
>>153927066the episode with the fortune cookie was when he became inspector gadget. the fight had no tension as he could pull out any number of random things to fight the random attacks
Evil Morty was a gag character never intended to be followed up on and making him a lore thing to begin with was the original sin
>>153927470Looking through the episode list, I'd have to agree, insofar as that's when it became noticable.>>153927505Same with a lot of things that season 3 brought back tbdesu. Like if The Ricklantis Mix-up had never happened or was more about life on the Citadel without the Evil Morty sub plot, would anyone have cared if he hadn't come back?
>>153927505>Evil Morty was a gag character never intended to be followed up onYou got any evidence for that? It seemed like they were not only leaving the door open for a follow-up but actively teasing it.
The death knell of any comedy is when it takes itself too seriously. This show is just wannabe action slop now and its not even remotely funny
>make a character who doesn't want to be part of the show and is actively trying to escape it, literally>entire motivation is he wants to be left alone>do a complete 180 on that and have him act like a smug idiot who gets outsmarted and played by Rick Hack writers who think they're making some action show or lore dump drama instead of a fucking comedy
>>153927560The other anon is right, because the reveal that Evil Rick was just being controlled by Evil Morty was in the post-credits sequence of a season 1 episode. Even then, a Morty pulling one over on a Rick wasn't inconceivable and the main hook of the episode was the Citadel of Ricks rather than Evil Morty.
>>153927582He's still a Morty and he wanted a Rick in his life. He just couldn't openly admit it.
>>153927582born a morty, always a morty
>>153921234when did you realize Rick acts just like Frank Grimes all the time?
>>153927610>>153927661I don't see you guys using this argument for him being a Jessica simp
>>153928842Jessica is pretty much missing since c131 went frundles, but she probably was taken by the time bureau for obvious reasons.parmesan jessica is pretty much a afterthought
>>153927066>""on what another anon in another thread called "Inspector Gadget Rick.""It's not just some anon who said it. Rick has himself said he's "basically Inspector Gadget" in the show. That's where the phrase comes from.
evil morty and current morty should kiss and make out.
>>153929761many are saying this
>>153927582The rick prime episode and the recent one have been the best episodes for Evil Morty. We need to stop pretending evil morty was better written in early episodes because he hardly did shit, the writers didn't give him a motive until his third appearance
>>153923334>>153924054>>153924670i'd say harmon posted this but that fat fuck is too lazy to do anything. so some of harmon's stooges is my guess
Who the fuck still watches shit and farty
>>153931276not me. i stopped watching once that spaghetti shit happened. i've got better things to do than watch whatever harmon's harem puts out
>>153921234https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imgKktSKMU8Who the fuck is "Ted"? Have they written Rick out of his own show as well?
>>153927008Well, they were wrong and stupid. Evil Morty literally just being a random who hated the whole "Rick" situation so fucking much he poked a hole in the universe solely so he could get permanently away from it was great. If the writers had any skill whatsoever, they would have just had him disappear forever then, and leave whatever it was that existed on the other side of the curve a mystery. THAT is a good ending. He takes his leave from the story, exit stage left.Instead we get this...completely different character.
At this point, I'm just watching the new episodes apathetically – I just want the series to end so I no longer feel the need to watch it, otherwise just quitting cold turkey doesn't feel right.
>>153932339same. I've all of the roiland ones at least 5 times each but it's a chore to watch the new ones
>>153931233I have to question how the fuck did he get so smart with random sci-fi bullshit. Even though he was just a regular-ass Morty prior to his betrayal.
There's been a bit of a... power creep since Season 1, hasn't there? Remember when Rick was stopped by Evil Rick's bug guards without a fight?
>>153932339>I just want the series to end so I no longer feel the need to watch itThat's not going to happen for at least a couple more seasons. ATHF ran for 15 years because that was Adult Swim's cashcow. Smiling Friends was supposed to be the "new R&M", but we know how that turned out. No "new R&M" = R&M continues to air.If you're not deriving any enjoyment from it, then stop while you're ahead. If the idea of going cold turkey on the series is bothering you, then S04E08, S05E08, and S07E10 are all good stopping points.
>>153932533He probably just downloaded the knowledge of Ricks directly into his brain before killing them, it doesn't seem implausible considering how heavily augmented he is and how his first appearance established him having that kind of technology.Or maybe he really is just an all natural super-genius version of Morty since he cobbled up mind control tech in his bedroom in a matter of hours the very night he snapped.
>>153922514Rick and Morty is at its best when the other family is in the background and this episode proved what a fucking mistake adding space Beth was to the dynamic.
>>153922514Amazing idea for an Evil Morty episode, absolute dogshit execution, this is probably the most boring episode he's ever been in. The appeal of Evil Morty is his dynamic with the main characters, and in this episode all he did was taunt regular Morty, and regular Morty cussed him out. That's it. I'm not even going to acknowledge the battle he had with Rick at the end because it was also lacking any substance or stakes. Both are immune to damage, so nothing was accomplished. How this resolved was clever, but that doesn't make sitting through the whole thing any less of a slog.Considering how shit the show has become with the newer writers fumbling so much the last few seasons, this really just feels like a flashy fanservice episode to try and bring people back.
>>153932339>I just want the series to end so I no longer feel the need to watch it>>153932560>That's not going to happen for at least a couple more seasons.Don't forget the President Curtis spin-off series and the now confirmed theatrical movie. 100 years Rick and Morty.
>>153933635There's no way this show won't flop, right? Who the hell wants to watch a president spin-off unless they're a really huge fan of Keith David?
>>153933402>I'm not even going to acknowledge the battle he had with Rick at the end because it was also lacking any substance or stakes. No, there are definitely stakes but fights in this show operate under playground rules. If Rick were to get shot in the head, die, and attempt to revive himself with a clone, the bullet Evil Morty shot at him probably would have unleashed tiny nano bots that scanned his brain the moment the bullet entered his head and relayed the info on the whereabouts of the location Rick is being revived at so that he can teleport there and destroy it. Rick would then counter that by having a biometric scanning system on the place in the event Evil Morty stumbled upon it, triggering a death trap and so on and so on.
>>153933737We already had the Rick and Morty anime and if you count the Vindicators online mini-series that makes this the 3rd Rick and Morty's spin-off. Everyone forgets about the Vindicators shorts even though they basically add up to another full Rick and Morty episode. And I doubt people were clamoring for more Vindicators. There's also various other Rick and Morty shorts, multiple video games, and a comic. Even if you watch every episode of the TV show there's a ton of Rick and Morty content if you're trying to be some completionist like >>153932339
>>153933991What point are you trying to make here? nobody gave a shit about the anime or the vindicators spin-off either, they were just "successful" because they were one-offs.
The President isn't even interesting or funny enough to hold an episode of the main series, let alone an entire spin-off.That shit is gonna crash, burn and be quickly forgotten after one season just like the anime spin-off.
>>153927582Evil Morty did leave, but he also found a way to make the Rickest Rick his bitch. He's just feeding his ego really. He gets to shit on Morty too. I suspect Evil Morty is very insecure about being a Morty since they're the weak and passive ones in the relationships. If he gets an opportunity to torture Ricks and Mortys he'll take it. That's why I don't find Evil Morty to be out of character this episode.
>>153932533Evil Morty was smart enough to invent shit on his own and he became much more smarter by copying all of the schematics and blueprints from other Ricks in the multiverse
>>153926925Compared to the dogshit I had to endure ... then again you're obviously not mentally handicapped like those faggots. I think those faggots arguing with me is what kept me bitching back and forth rather than just bitching at the show itself and getting it over with.I think the new voice actor does a perfect job if he STAYS CALM, and only "fucks up" when he has to yell, scream, put any distinct emotion and vowels where he has to play with his voice. I think he's a good voice mimicrier otherwise if he stays calm, better than most AI garbage that sound even worse when doing a normal neutral emotion, but yeah. Better than obvious separate singers that sound nothing like the voice actor. And the show I watched where if you're not mentally retarded you can clearly hear the same voice actors who did a good job 1 season before ... suddenly sound anxious, bored, sarcastic, bored out of their minds like someone is either shoving a gun in their foreheads(which is true... metaphorically) because the voice director is either an idiot or the executive producer is an idiot or the whole team is suddenly made of idiots.
>>153935180I heard voice actors go from expert voice acting to absolute dogwater voice acting between 2 shows ... sometimes between 2 different seasons within the same show. So the voice actor for Rick is doing let's say ... an acceptable..... a better job than the AI , if we can call that a compliment. No actually I'll say that if I didn't have a cloning machine then I'd hire this guy... I just wouldn't hire him to sing, it's obvious when he sings(if he ever sings). It's ironic when different people clone a character better than the original actor. It's interesting to hear quality voice actors go from granny voices to little girl voices, Not the imbecile behind Beth where they need to hire a little girl voice actor cause that dumb bitch has no acting skills like most of these 2010s shows who voice acted as background characters in 2007 shows and have the voice of an extra. Yeah.
>>153932783>He probably just downloaded the knowledge of Ricks directly into his brain before killing themThat was established in the first evil morty episode back in season 1
It's really hard to understate just how vital Justin was to this whole process and how much of a jack Dan and all those faggots are. This shit is worse then fucking family guy now, god damn.
>>153935579hi Justin. still a lonely suicidal drunkard I see.
>>153922514Opening with Evil Morty feels extremely desperate.
>>153935579I'm not sure why people like this faggot >>153935773 deny this when Justin and his team were in charge of the first two seasons. To deny Justin was the best part of the show is to think seasons 3-9 are better than 1-2 and nobody with a modicum of taste would think that.
>>153928842>I don't see you guys using this argument for him being a Jessica simpbecause shes cute
>season 3+ is better then the first two seasons.eww. Dan, just let someone else fuck your wife again.>>153935773I will never understand people throwing temper tantrums over the fact that Justin was a vital part of this show. What is up with fans and turning on the creators of the thing they love and wanting to change it into something unrecognizable.I will never understand and I don't think I want to either.
>>153935902I think Justin is given too much credit by some dumbasses in this thread when he's really a worthless sack of shit that subsists on gross-out/shock humor sort of like the other jew Seth Rogen. And I also think that Justin or Dan are given too much credit for how the show turned out or even how the show was in season 1 when it has always been who was and who wasn't in the writer's room.Guys like Ryan Ridley left after 3 to make room for niggerkikes like Jeff Loveness or Nick Rutherford, and there was a noticeable drop in quality in 4 and 5. Loveness fucked off and Rutherford was given far less authority than he used to have, and we're getting good episodes again. It's this simple equation with like a bunch of more factors like McMahan, Siciliano, Marder, Lundy, Campbell that lets you figure out what used to make you like Rick and Morty and what ruined it.Justin Roiland is a sissy cuck bitch and niggers like you that like to suck his dick because you look like him need to shut their bitch ass up when someone that actually watches this show and knows what Justin's capable of says that he didn't do shit for this show.
>>153922514We got the big "lore" episode out of the way early. Now we just need the "you're a retard for caring about the lore we keep giving you" episode and we can call this season wrapped up.
>>153936262>wordspeople who don't like Justin are just like this schizo here. You people want to be a part of that, why? Because some 16 year old girl wanted to fuck him? Because he's more talented then you?You people lost all credibility when you defended the new voices of Rick and Morty. I know for a fact you're one of those "Can't tell the difference" kind of guys. AKA a retard.>Two people are vital for a project, one acts like a creep and gets himself kicked off, the whole thing keeps getting worse.wow. i am so shocked. Such a shame how Justin was treated. Rape a 10 year old boy and you become president, flirt with a 16 year old who wants you and you get banned from animation. It's hilarious.
>>153936328you're just embarrassing yourself now Justin
>>153936365Schizo.
>>153933737It'll likely just be a knockoff of Inside Job
>>153936740Dan the cuckman Harman can only write one thing after all.
>>153927591>The other anon is right, because the reveal that Evil Rick was just being controlled by Evil Morty was in the post-credits sequence of a season 1 episode.Nope, it happened before the end credits to punctuate Rick talking about a "cocky Morty" leading to problems and he said he'd explain it later. So they were planning something from the very begining.
>>153921234>What do you think of this compilation episode? The biggest failure of it is that they just made Evil Morty a generic villain now. Why even bring him back if the point of his whole arc was him leaving the curve. I mean, I know why. They blew their load with Rick prime and now no one cares about the show. Funny thing is they were treating people like assholes for caring about all this some seasons ago and now they're digging for characters to reuse like MCU executives. Hopefully they will cancel it soon and we can all pretend the show is actually 3 seasons long
>>153936740>"It'll likely just be a knockoff of Inside Job"Their words where that the President spin-off would be "more X-Files than Dr Who".I've only watched one episode of Inside Job but I'm guessing this new show will likely deal with more conspiracy government type shit like what what I imagine Inside Job to be. Which is kind of dumb since the entire Earth has already been invaded by aliens and a bunch of crazy Rick shit happens all the time right in front of the public. So I don't know expect the President and his crew to go pretending to be Ghostbusters or some shit.
>>153937776>Hopefully they will cancel it soonNielson ratings are worthless now since TV ratings are down across the board for pretty much everything. Nobody likes watching regular TV anymore and most people will just end up watching Rick and Morty on a streaming service like Netflix.>Hopefully they will cancel it soon andThey already have multiple future seasons lined up, a movie, and a spin-off show. Rick and Morty isn't going anywhere anytime soon.>Why even bring him back if the point of his whole arc was him leaving the curve. People keep saying this but it was always obvious Evil Morty was going to come back. They left open the plot point of Evil Morty taking the schematics for the Omega Device and in his last appearance he flat out says "you are a little different Rick, maybe I can use that some day". He knows the "Rickest Rick" seems to be the most brokenly overpowered one and manipulating Ricks for his own ends is like the main reason Evil Morty go to be so powerful himself. He was using Rick C-137 to help protect the Central Finite Curve and after the job was done only stayed for that diner scene just because regular Morty was there and he was enjoying making fun of his jealously. Then shit just spiraled out from there.
>>153937776>Why even bring him back if the point of his whole arc was him leaving the curve. They were always planning on bringing him back, anon. Literally the episode after EM leaves the curve, Rick makes a joke about how EM "basically threw a tantrum to announce he was quitting twitter" with Morty adding "No one ever quits twitter". I don't know why guys keep assuming they were going to stop using EM after season 5 when they barely did anything with him
>>153939406>I don't know why guys keep assuming they were going to stop using EM after season 5 when they barely did anything with himBecause apparently you really do need to have a high IQ to understand Rick and Morty.
this is probally the most i've draw Morty in my life. i'm surprised how much i liked this new episode. i thought the season 8 was a drag. but this one i had fun.
>>153940043Got a name, art friend?
>>153940282https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/91401235sheezy.art/quati
>>153921234Huge improvement honestly, last season was extremely mediocre but this premiere felt like a glimmer of what the show used to be so I might stick with it until I get bored again.
Does /co/ still love the first 2 seasons? I know I still do but sometimes it feels like this place just hates this show altogether and always did. But I know that isn't the case, at least I think.
>>153941377The archives prove otherwise. /co/ can't escape the fact that they loved the show once.
>>153941377The first couple season were great, and other than some retards being retarded in public, almost everyone loved it. Then the fart-sniffing began.
>>153941377I was a fan during the first 2 seasons.Season 3, unsurprisingly, was the season that made me go from fan to just passively watching it sometimes. It sucks too because I remember thinking the season 3 premiere was really good, but the rest of that season was genuinely so terrible that I did not care if/when the show was coming back.I'll check up on it sometimes now and occasionally it does still have an episode I enjoy, but it mostly feels schlocky and uninspired. You can't blame Roiland leaving because he was already checked out long before his controversies, his last writing credit was even in the middle of season 3! Maybe it was just never meant to become the giant it is now.
>>153929214do you think the time bureau arrest you just for living a really long time?
>>153927582>make a character who doesn't want to be part of the show and is actively trying to escape it, literally>entire motivation is he wants to be left alone>do a complete 180 on that and have him act like a smug idiot who gets outsmartedSeen that before.
>>153932558Pretty much. As I said above, in seasons 1-3, Rick's 'superpower' (acknowledged in-universe by multiple characters, mind you) is his portal gun. Now his superpower is basically>invulnerability via technobabble implantsI like transhumanism and stories that touch upon it, but with Rick and Morty they've gone completely overboard on it.
>>153931418Isn't this like the David episode of AT?
>>153933218>adding space Beth was to the dynamic.Which is why when asked where she was he replied>Space Beth is sometimes means to me
>>153941377I cannot speak for anyone but myselfFrom my perspective the show has been erratic in that I don't think any one season was the best since all of them have this or the other episode like the spaghetti one or the incest baby one. The show simply put has its moments. That said, this was to me the best episode of the series.Great action and animation, somewhat good jokes and dialogue. The story got me invested. It was good.
>>153938581>>153936740It is about the President trying to deal with sci-fi shit without having to involve Rick. It's basically like that guy in Invincible who runs a big government agency and uses non-hero things sometimes to solve issues. It's basically that. So, it's just an excuse to stick to a different character but still use the same 'what would be cool to do here' stuff.
>>153935437I added "into his brain" for a reason, the show never directly confirmed that part.
>>153931418>Dream LanesSo it's going to be a dream. Rick dreaming of the life he could have had.
>>153943860>From my perspective the show has been erratic in that I don't think any one season was the best since all of them have this or the other episode like the spaghetti one or the incest baby one. The show simply put has its moments.Same with me. If I look at the episode list, there's usually only a couple of episodes that I really enjoy per season, and either find the rest mediocre or terrible. Like for the 1st season alone, I only really enjoy Lawnmower Dog, Anatomy Park, and Close Rick-Counters Of The Rick Kind, with the rest being kinda eh, or insufferable like Raising Gazorpazorp. There has never been a season where I was like>yeah besides one or two misses, that season was a banger
>>153943868President is a boring character to me but apparently the writers said they love writing about him.
>>153943749Maybe she tries to go back in time to prevent her becoming a Time God and gets nabbed for that.Whatever needs to happen so she ends up in Time Jail with Evil Morty. People keep saying his downfall was that he couldn't change the fact that he was a Morty at the end of the day. Every Morty loves Jessica don't they?
>>153941377It's good but it's hard to watch knowing how poorly Justin was abused and how badly the show has gone to shit without him.
>>153943919>Anatomy ParkI fucking hate Anatomy Park and don't understand its appeal. The main plot is really not all that entertaining (haha Jurassic Park references, haha Morty's awkward around a girl, haha random characters dying in gorey ways) and the subplot with Jerry's cuckold dad was uncomfortable, irritating, and not fun to watch. It's like the OG Bethcest episode. And the Meeseeks episode. Now THAT is an episode that's amazing on a first-time viewing but it's aged poorly. Funnily enough, the Evil Morty episode still gets a lot of laughs out of me and is all around an entertaining adventure. And what do ya know, it's a lore episode, no wonder why it's so great!
>>153944193>but it's aged poorlyHow?
>>153944342Mr. Meeseeks is annoying to listen to for an extended period of time and on rewatches, the shocking as fuck novelty of the King Jellybean scene has worn off and there's been better darker scenes since then, and Beth is downright abusive towards Jerry and the episode treats it like he deserves it.
>>153944012>the show has gone to shit without himHuh? wasn't he a part of the show until season 6? The show was at its worst in the two seasons prior to that and has markedly improved since
>>153944010Time God Jessica probably despises prime morty for abandoning her.
>>153921234I don't get Evil Morty's motivations. I mean, it's usually because of new writers on a show but somebody help me out hereHis whole thing was just being sick of Rick, right? Destroying the curve and GTFOing hard. He only came back because Rick Prime shenanigans were fucking up his self-imposed exile. So he basically gave Rick his revenge on a silver platter, stole the weapon designs as the ultimate mutually-assured-destruction deterrent and fucked off again. So why did he come back at all? Why taunt Morty? If his entire character arc was just to escape and be left alone, why did he return? Again, it's probably because the showrunners wanted more screentime for one of their most popular characters but I need some coherent narrative explanation on this
>>153945533Well, the Watsonian rundown is:He was a slightly-smarter and a little darker (as seen from his room in Unmortricken) Morty whose ego overpowered his love for Rick, at which point he decided he needed to escape. His dialogue in Close Rickcounters of the Rickkind suggests that he too could not comprehend a Rick that genuinely cared for his Morty, not just in an unhealthy attachment sort of way, but as a grandfather. Remember how Morty's uprising that episode is what ultimately saved our Rick and foiled EM's plans. That must have been when his interest was piqued in our Morty. Remember that Evil Rick's line mocking Rick for crying about Morty was actually EM's. So while his plan which at that point could have been the destruction of all Ricks changed to simply leaving the curve. For which he once again warranted our Rick's assistance, and he saw for himself how this Rick and Morty interacted with each other. And finally, in his third encounter, it was cemented in his mind that this pair was different from your run of the mill smartass grandpa and dumbass grandson. Which compounded with his loneliness within the infinite meant that he'd come fuck with them. In many ways his path is just like Rick Prime's.
>>153945246Don't bother asking this, he's not going to reply. Justinfags are deluded weedbros entering their 30s that adored the earlier seasons of Rick and Morty for being one of those dumb mindfuck shows to watch when you're high and because Roiland reminded them of themselves they've always made it a point that the show going to shit was because Roiland wasn't part of it anymore even though unlike some writers that did leave after seasons 2 or 3 Roiland stuck with the show until season 6 and his absence from the show only became noticeable from that point because the show RECOVERED from the pits that it was sent to during seasons 4 or 5. Like most jews in the industry all Roiland has ever contributed to is degenerate r34 crap and toiler humor that he most indubitably gets off to. But yeah Justinbros tend don't want to face that reality and would instead prefer the show becoming Family Guy for dudes that like pop science.
