Get it off your chest: /co/ edition Im a marvel fan, spider-man being my favorite I cam admit, im an x-men fan too but in recent years, I can admit my perception of the team may be a tad distrustful of the teamI admit certain things I've seen made me think they're written as self righteous assholes who lash out at anyone not "in the club">characters like storm shitting on my goat spidey when he just tries to help and is loved by Logan (I have no complaints on Logan, i actually cosplyaed him)>characters like deadpool.are not allowed on krakoa for not being a true mutant yet mr sinister is welcomed with seemingly open arms>the time they pressed mr fantastic in his own home and wiped his memory of an x-gene masking device because it can threaten them (why would reed use it AGAINST mutants? He just wanted to hide his son feom racist humans>then "oh shit, we actually need the more of his invention", they barge in on the F4, fight the thing, and beg reed to rebuild the device>planning to wipe caps memories during AXE>Beast. Just Beast.Amongst other odd things, admittedly I didnt read every x book, but these are some odd moments I remember that made me Can an absolute diehard x-men eXpert enlighten me?Am I misjudging the x-men?Am I taking their cynic attitude towards humans and other non mutant heroes too seriously?Yeah humans suck, but does anyone else feel weird reading x-men comics and hearing magneto and others harp on all of humanity when the average person thinks mutants are pretty cool? Its weird reading it and thinking "man these people will probably look down on me for being a human"
(Cont)TLDRCan you change my mind? When I see modern x-men I just see assholes.I dont hate mutants. If anything I LOVE that they exist because it makes the universe bigger (call me autistic id think theyd be cool IRL)But admittedly their semi hostile attitude (albeit understandable because of idiot humans) makes me uncomfortable, both as a human and a fan of non mjtantbheroes who sometimes get heat from themIm all ears and open to read more to restore my trust in the x-men
I’ve watched multiple Cartoon Network shows on Tubi and the only one I liked at all was Courage.
>>153925469Better this than another "unpopular" opinion thread full of popular opinions.
I hate James Gunn with every fiber of my being
>>153925498if one of them is Powerpuff we're personally executing you
>>153925563Haven’t seen it yet. The ones I watched besides Courage were>Ed Edd n Eddy>Foster’s Home>Kid’s Next Door>Evil Con CarneI only watched an episode or less for some of them, so I can’t fully write them off
>>153925589ahhh, I'd recommend watching more Ed Edd n Eddy then, maybe you watched a weak episode of it
>>153925469I'm not a big TDAC or Glitch fan but some of the responses to them being troubled around these parts is baffling to me. Is it culture war shit? It's the same with shitter. It feels to me like the people most celebrating the troubles of guys actually making stuff are people who are busy coping and seething about either not making any themselves or not presently being popular for it. Same goes for, say, Smiling Friends. I always feel like I'm reading absolutely unhinged, borderline incomprehensible psychobabble on /co/ whenever I see people complaining about popular works in this way. The only one I could really claim to understand is people dunking on Vivziepop stuff because it seems kind of silly and yet even then I feel like there's a bajillion threads about it. It feels really weird to me.Gonna sound like a weeb here and I am but I really do think that as of speaking Japan won a sort of cultural war for dominance in the world as of writing. American (them specifically, the based French seem to remain powerful) media seems in this absolutely awful state where its main recourses to remain cared about or popular are ultimately just aping anime and manga. I kind of hope that american media suffers some kind of tremendous collapse so that it can become interesting on its own merits at some point in the future. This is a serious shame because if you go out and read comics- not big two, mind you, which I don't care for, but really the huge world beyond those e.g. eurocomics, it quickly becomes clear there's some really good stuff out there that is simply not popular while a stagnant media ecosystem seems to takes up huge amounts of oxygen.
>>153925498Courage is solid as fuckLove that dog>>153925563But yeah early ppg is Kino, rewatch it you might really like itRIP to Tom Kane
>>153925469Im sorry brother but outside of cyclops the rest of the x men are no longer based or that cool anymore. Weird gay mutie island orgy parties soured a lot and made a lot of the muties look like mega assholes more than usual. Tldr its hard to be a mutie lover these days.
