>Disney released 3 animation movies in theaters on 2001
>they only submitted Monsters Inc for the inaugural Best Animated Feature academy award
Why did they do that?

One of them is CGI

Not knowing the timeline of reviews, being the first winner of Best Animated Film would have been a great source of bragging (especially for Disney of all companies) and chose the most acclaimed film in their lineup.

I quite like both other films but Atlantis was a financial disappointment that had mixed reviews and Recess isn’t exactly a big film.

9 movies were submitted, so only 3 could be chosen as nominees

At this point, it's safe to say this will forever be DreamWorks' only victory in that category. I just don't see it happening again

Who cares about academy awards? How many judges are there? Who are they? Why do I give a fuck what they think over what I think?

Giving a shit about hollywood award shows is the most cucktastic behavior imaginable.

Did you guys know about Recess All Growed Down? I honestly only discovered it yesterday.

Shrek deserved a Best Picture nomination. It's that good
