>mean spiritedSince when is that a bad thing, especially in comedy? People who use the term don't seem to realize that sadist comedy exists.
They mean meme spirited. As in it was made solely to promote meme engagement, like the not so amazing world of gumball
They want jeff bennet electabuzz to be punished for his sins instead of bloo destroying the house again
Just don't watch youtubers you disagree with.
>>153933498It’s a bad thing when it’s out of character for the character and doesn’t fit with the show’s tone.
>>153933522Nah, I'm talking about the former brony bloggers who don't think Lincoln Loud should sleep outside LMAO.
>>153933539Yeah, you obviously have a point that Patrick got flanderized to be a dangerous type of retard. I personally missed that, as post-S9B Patrick is simply braindead as opposed to being reckless.
>>153933535Sometimes I like cross-referencing my opinions with others and see how well they stack up with one another. I have yet to find such a YTer...
>>153933498>sadist comedy existsYou missed the point. Retarded pansy reviewers aside, mean spirited is what a sadistic comedic scene feels like when the comedy fails. It's the feeling you get when some incompetent writer tries to pass off sadism as comedy and pathetically fails. That feeling and comedy are mutually exclusive at the very least on the subjective level, but usually objectively because it stems from objectively bad writing. It's like those Czechoslovak-animated Tom and Jerry episodes: they saw the original and completely missed the point, thinking the comedy comes purely from the characters being hurt. When it comes from set-up, atmosphere, creativity, character reaction and other complex writing and animation.
CatDog kind of is "mean spirited" to be fair. That doesn't make it bad though
>>153933498We have had enough nihilistic postmodern "comedy" by losers who care about nothing for one millennium. Sorry for not wanting to stew in misery any longer
>>153935559>miseryMy favorite Teletoon centers around exactly that.
>>153933498People generally like when you punch up, not down.
>>153935677All comedy is punching down. You can't punch up comedy.
>>153935528The shitty designs, shitty characters and shitty writing make it bad.
