Lots of "Liar Revealed" cartoons, but are there any examples of "Truth-Teller Revealed" you can think of?
Maybe a character like Littlefoot who operates on faith and a dream in dire circumstances until it finally bears out that he and his mother were right?
Probably chicken little
>>153948707what, like they were mocked or not believed for their own prophacy?
>>153948707Rango did the "Liar Reveal" stick the best. In fact, it's just a good movie in general.
Shark Tale did it differently from the others, because the truth doesn't come out until the very end
>>153948707It's weird how these four movies are mainly remembered for their liar revealed trope and nothing else.
>>153948707Does A Bug's Life even count? They're all acting under a misunderstanding, not an active lie.
>>153955448Flik sort of lied since he knew the Circus Bugs weren’t actual warriors fairly early on and tried to save face because he was already an outcast.
>>153953830People remember Rango for much more then that considering Rattlesnake Jake, the meta textual narrative regrading westerns or the Spirit of the West scene.
>>153955476The ants are such hypocrite dicks since they lied themselves about Flick's quest, honestly they kinda deserved the Grasshoppers kicking their mandibles in.
>>153955507This. Rango is most love-lettery movie I've ever seen. They even wanted to get Clint Eastwood for the Spirit of the West role, but he declined because he didn't like the idea of being deified.
>>153955533I think it makes sense from the ants’ perspective>dumbass ant tries to change the process that worked for however long ants existed and ends up hurting the princess>ant’s carelessness with his machine is what causes the grasshopper tribute to be destroyed and make them double the work>said ant desperately tries to save his image by offering to find others to help, ends up finding “warriors” and gets the colony’s hopes up>even convinced them of a Hail Mary plan to build a fake bird in the hopes of scaring away Hopper, spending days building when they could have been foraging more food>>153951699What helps Rango is that the “liar revealed” is used primarily as a way to show Rango’s inner growth. The others do to a degree but Rango takes it the extra step with him returning to the highway to cross the “other side”.
>>153951898Which makes it even more retarded
>>153955659It's interesting seeing that Rango has a lot of story elements and similar character approaches with the Lone Ranger but just executed it so much better. Doesn't hurt that it's just got a lot more interesting an art style, better executed narrative but also just actually good characters when Lone Ranger only really had Cavendish the heart eater to stand out. I think it also doesn't have the baggage of being an adaption of another franchise to be compared to alongside just utilising the western theme and meta elements in it's story to a greater degree. Anyway back on topic shame they couldn't actually get Clint Eastwood for the role but suppose I can understand his reasons for declining at least, also it's a nice touch that Rattlesnake Jake has the Lee Van Cleef mustache as a pattern on his scaled face.
>>153955705I get it but at the same time the Ants are just generally assholes about it and Flick being the main character plus who we spend time with makes us naturally more sympathetic to his perspective then the Ants who stupidly don't use his plan at all afterwards. Also yeah I think the reason Rango's liar revealed works best is cause it better ties into his character, the overall thematic byline of the story and we see how it affects him while genuinely being compelling like with the scene where he blindly crosses the road as he's lost everything.
>>153955507I just remember it for the>He wants a glass of water
>>153948707>are there any examples of "Truth-Teller Revealed" you can think of?Sausage Party, Honey Mustard was right about what really happens in The Great Beyond.
>>153951071OOOOOONE LITTLE SLIP
>>153955870>Stranger saunters in and asks for WATER!
>>153948707I have an idea for a movie that subverts the Liar Revealed trope. It’s kind of like something from the Twilight Zone: there’s this place known as LIELAND, where everyone tells bullshit and falsehoods, and saying the truth is taboo. One dude shows up and says something everyone assumes is a lie, but eventually everyone discovers is actually REAL, so the dude gets ostracized and kicked out of town, because telling the truth is frowned upon. That’s pretty much all I have in mind at the moment. Anyone wants to contribute to the plot?
>>153957892Would this be like a comedy and what exactly would the stakes or resolution be?
>>153957929>what exactly would the stakes or resolution be?Haven’t really thought about it. Feel free to contribute to the idea.
>>153955708how so?
>>153948707Nobody posted Toy Story? This happens in both TS1 and TS3. Woody tries to tell an implausible truth but his friends don't believe him.
>>153948707liar revealed is a good plot and I'm tired of pretending it isnt
>>153959131Explain
>>153959131Elaborate
>>153957892An Emperor’s New Clothes story would work for that
