I think it's worth talking more than face value about the suicide angle. Because, abstraction is unending mental anguish in a tormented form. There's no "at least they're at peace now" angle - there's also an afterlife angle. I think they could have gone in a totally different directionEpisode 7 ends with the cast still injured from the torture. Jax especially bad, unable to talk without his outer skin, and has to communicate with a note pad. He's really shaken by it, and the others know he can't be left alone. They have to travel under the circus to retrieve the computer and reset caine, and it takes them through the deleted world's where the abstractions roam. At multiple points, they get frustrated with him and they start talking about how they really feel about him, and he's unable to talk back or reply, so he has to hear them out. He can't even walk away because he's scared to be alone and it's so dangerous. After a 5 minute lone scene of every character yelling at him about how he has made them feel for years, and how they have reached out to him again and again but he keeps rejecting them, they are so tired of his bullshit, no wonder all his friends abstracted around him.And jax is just curled up, crying silentlyPomni speaks up. Saying that they are going to keep trying and reach him, they aren't giving up. Oh yeah, zooble says, we're not going to stop, i didn't mean that. Yeah, says ragatha, we're always here for you when you want to reach out. Jax holds out a tear soaked piece of paper that says "sorry"then another one that says "thankyou"
