Naturally poor British writers are more cynical than m American fanboys who were into sci-fi and fantasy that were the usual stable of American writers at the time. The 70s/80s gen of American cape writers were largely fans who had grown up with these characters and comics.
>>153958865Serious answer: He wrote very detailed scripts and his stories often had interesting twists like D.R. & Quinch or his future shocks. Then he started writing for Warrior which is where Miracleman was first published and his popularity exploded because of how he brought back an old character in an unexpected way. I also believe he wrote a Green Lantern story with Kevin Oneil because Kevin's art style was too edgy and that also helped get him into the news. He's not no talent, he's amazing at writing good prose and dialogue. If you didn't like his more popular stories there's probably something by him you will enjoy.
