With the end of the ulimate universe comes the birth of another, but I can't help but feel that it's a world birthed out of desperation than purposeful storytelling. I have a feeling this is going to bomb real hard.
>>153964091Which youtuber is this?
>>153964091The #1s will do good. Collectors are retards and have to buy every new #1
>>153964091you don't have to be doing all this, it's not even a universe as such, like a major initiative just some horror elseworlds
>>153964121All of them
>>153964213No shit sherlock.
>>153964091Just what the fuck possesses marvel to do such shit anyway?
I don't think this is supposed to last that long anyway. Maybe 10 issues since that is two 5s.
>>153965095Desperation after Hickman USM became their best selling title. Even now they're sending out shills on twitter to claim USM sales had declined like Renew Your Vows, which is bullshit if you look at both the monthly and TPB sales charts on ICV2
>>153964091FF exploring a universe of Lovecraftian cosmic horror is a great high concept it's surprising has never really been done before, this one sounds like the best idea of the three launch titles, but an FF book is going to launch with lower sales than a Spider-Man or X-Men book.Monster Spider-Man has been done before, and they're probably best off utilizing the existing Man-Spider design instead of trying to top it, this series will live or die on how good the monster designs are for Spidey and the villains, and how good the art is.X-Men vs Vampires has been done too many times already, and it's Hickman on X-Men again, and he's also doing some sort of Game of Thrones-inspired political intrigue between rival factions nonsense, and the same people who said they wouldn't get fooled again will fall for a Hickman book all over again even though there's nothing new or interesting about this one yet it's the flagship of the line.
>>153964091yep as long the keep giving this shit to Hickman it will fail, I don't what it will take for them to accept that Hickman needs to go
The concept would work if they keep it basic>>Storm gets vanpirized by Decon Frost, quits the X-Men, and teams up with Dracula after Frost takes over as Lord of the Vampires and kills Blade.>>Americop as Maniac Cop>>Ned Leeds ghost comes back as the new Ghost Rider entity and possesses pre Venom Eddie Brock to create a new Ghost Rider>>Punisher dealing with a variety of supernatural mob families (gangs of werewolves, Vampires, Frankensteins, mummies, etc)>>Vision and Scarlet Witch married book raising their gay kids and fighting witches>>Tigra catgirl private eye>>Sandman send up where Marvel's Sandman gets made protector of the dream realm>>John Walker as Cap Wolf>>Polaris/Malice book with Lorna trying to free herself from Malice and Malice trying to control her body full time
>>153971746Also they should have let each book be self-contained, rather than doing a shared universe thing, which it sounds like they're doing. So you can't have your Scarlet Witch or Polaris ideas because Hickman appears to be putting them and Quicksilver in Magneto's faction in his book because nobody even remembers none of them wanted to be villains and so you get writers who think it's perfectly natural that they'd be grown adults voluntarily still in the Brotherhood. That Ghost Rider idea is really random thoughever.
>>153964121Grifter1987.
>>153971904Not really given that Ned and Eddie hate Spider-Man and you have the angle of Ned wanting to hunt down Kingsley, Macendale, and Foreigner and Eddie as Ghost Rider giving us a "What If" scenario where he never becomes Spider's arch nemesis
>>153971746>and kills Blade.Instant drop.Blind or one arm Samurai him, but a dead Dhampir in a vampire world immediately makes it less intriguing.Though I guess in a world with cybernetics like Marvel being blind or one armed wouldn't be that big a deal.
>>153965095They have an incredibly limited pool of talent to squeeze from because of the archaic old boys club keeping their tiny rump fiefdoms of editorial together. Running on empty, house of ideas and all of them bad and looking worse as DC is making them pay for all the albatross they have been wearing.
>>153967383Also misjudging Absolute's appeal as being from monstrous redesigns alone, not the fact that character reimaginings were standalone from their originals and went outside previous mandates
