We finally killed Star Wars, can we pull off the miracle and make Toy Story 5 bomb and finally kill off Toy Story?
They had films like Toy Story 4 and Lightyear far worse than any Star Wars film, so the audience rejection should be as strong.

One anon seems to be surefire on trying to resurrect me, so I'll have a crack at a thread all about death this time around.

Since Toy Story's 30 last year, I'm putting dibs that the millennial parent audience for 5 will likely go in out of habit. You ever see that scene in Goofy Movie where Goofy takes Max to that real shithole of a Showbiz Pizza in the woods? It's likely going to be like that, but worse.

Fuck, we're now closer to Toy Story's 50th than we thought we were. We already lost Val Kilmer, I'm not sure if I can handle a world without Tim Allen.

The lukewarm reception to Rise of Skywalker and the subsequent disinterest in the brand afterwards was a direct result of The Last Jedi being universally vilified.
The problem is that the general public still thinks Toy Story 4 is a good movie.

Lol
Lmao even

Toy Story 4 is one of the worst animated movies of all time and is considered along with Wreck it Ralph 2 to be the Velma of Disney for destroying the IP.
It was so bad it was one part of getting Lightyear to bomb

I think that was mainly from Pixar fatigue, though. Hoppers came out mostly fine for the crowd (even my father was appeased by it, I guess), it's that anyone can tell the driver's been asleep on the road with many of these sequels.

...Shit, it's been eight years since Incredibles 2. I keep forgetting this has been going on for a long time.

Best case scenario is some people were disappointed by 4 enough that it makes less than a billion, but that’s still unlikely.

Eh, I dunno, TS5's whole plot is pretty safe and there's just enough crybait in it to rate highly.

If I reach far enough, the only things I could see damaging sales are:
>parents getting mad it's not an "anti technology / anti iPad kid" movie like they thought and that the trailers were basically a bait and switch
>whatever the fuck happens to Woody (I'm still betting he and Bo Peep will metaphorically "die" together at the end)
>some people being upset about the second kid's race, Ember, or whatever her name is
>that it's basically Jessie: the Movie and that everyone else is just kinda being pushed into the sidelines. Bonus: Jessie marrying Buzz
>general distaste for yet another new Toy Story movie when the series has already had several solid "endings"
>>

Why would bonus hurt the movie if it just makes official something set up by TS2’s ending and TS3’s climax
It’s also something that was used as a joke in the Taiwan Circle 7 Toy Story 3 draft

>>whatever the fuck happens to Woody
The Golden Book of the film was posted here on /co/ and it just had Woody and Bo go back to being lost toys after their “work” is done.
It’s a complete nothing burger story designed to offend as little people as possible.

Note the GB also entirely cut Woody's aging completely and that their last scene together is them looking down from a high window, brightly illuminated from behind like the most stereotypical "looking down from Heaven" cartoon thing ever. Plus those two are the oldest toys out of all of them by a long shot, IIRC?
I mean it still just a schizo theory, but if those two ever show up in any TS media after this, I'll be SHOCKED.

I do have to wonder if pixar will end up getting axed since all their movies are CGI anyway there's no reason to keep them around especially if they keep making slop squeals.
>>
I don't think "bonnie get ipad" is going to gang busters.
>>

The sole reason why it's a android tablet and not a Switch (2) or Steam Deck is because both Nintendo and Valve wouldn't let Disney and Pixar use their respected devices as villains.
>>
>>153968408
Its not canon

Where? The plot is extremely generic and is simply a retconning of the tablet. It's not even a village and the movie is woke.

And?
>>
>>153973086
The book of the movie for Tangled had Gothel trip and fall out of the tower instead of crumbling to dust from old age so those things can't be trusted.
>>
>>153973633
There was a cancelled Bo and Woody movie that was kind of cute, which confirmed that yes, she and Woody are the oldest. Bo was from Scotland and belonged to Andy's family before she arrived in the US. This was before feminism.
>>
Nope because parents want to take their kids to something and kids dont care
