What did Bruce Wayne do from age 9-17 before he left to train to become The Batman?
What schools did he go to? Did he skip directly to college and get a degree?
Does any media cover this period?
>>
>>153980446
Batman: The Knight covers him the part where he travels around the world
>>
>>153980475
>he travels around the world
At this age should he be in school tho?
>>
>>153980498
his parents didn't make him go
>>
>>153980509
So Bruce didn't graduate from school?
>>
>>153980446
Golden age, didn't specify. Silver age, he was raised by his paternal uncle and aunt, which was retconned into the golden age canon via Earth-Two. There was a period of time when they lived in Smallville, allowing the teenage Bruce Wayne to meet Superboy, then after they moved back to Gotham Bruce became the sidekick of a GCPD detective as the first Robin. Post-Crisis, he was raised by Alfred, and started studying abroad from age 14 onward. New 52 Bruce was also raised by Alfred but was an edgy brooder as a kid, got kicked out of a prestigious private school, and barely graduated from a boarding school for shitters, before training martial arts around the globe.

There are several versions about his teen years that have fallen in & out of canon but Untold Legend Of The Batman does a good job of summing all the goofy Silver-Bronze age about Bruce's teen years, confronting Joe Chill and then the Moxton retcon. The weirdest one was that Bruce actually becomes the first Robin BEFORE becoming Batman to learn detective skills under a cop.

Batman Gothic has him go back to his old school where his headmaster was actually a centegenarian monk who made a deal with the devil in order to live for like 500 years before being sent to Hell. (spoilers) It's revealed he designed the Old Gotham Cathedral and is planning to use it as a soul sucker in a large-scale terrorist attack to fool the devil but he fails

Tbf supernatural Batman has existed ever since O'Neil added Ra's, not counting Golden Age since I'm mostly talking Bronze/Modern Batman
I actually like it a lot compared to shit like Serious House, I wish it were more grounded but it genuinely does go for the gothic feel it promises and the atmosphere is immaculate, it also has Batman be a detective by going to Germany to meet a monk who explains the story and then figure out various things, it also has some good twists imo
One of Morrison's best

>his paternal uncle and aunt
qrd on them?
>>
>>153981731
nta but they were basically Bruce's mentors iirc
Alfred in the Golden Age was a fat bumbling Watson wannabe who was a comedic foil to the rest of the cast, it was later inthe Adam West show he became more sarcastic and slim and able to fend criminals like the Joker from Wayne Manor and later on with Year One he became ex-SAS badass who saved Batman's life
>>
>>153981833
>it was later inthe Adam West show he became more sarcastic and slim
That was started by the black and white serials
>>
Does Batman actually have a college degree?
Bruce Wayne is a CEO he must have one in some form.
>>
>>153983178
In Pre-Crisis continuity he studied law at Yale, in Batman Begins he dropped out of Princeton to do his world travels.
>>
>>153981833
Even Alfred gets power creep. Good for him.
>>
>>153983485
>he studied law at Yale
Was he part of that whole Yale thing?
>>
>Batman is Batman because he swore it to God
>>

The Skull-and-Bones society?
I don't think he had the time for that bullshit

>>153983702
Yes.

Joe Chill’s mother was also his uncle’s housekeeper, so in part he was raised by the mother of the man who murdered his parents.

Not something you'd ever see in modern comics.

I've thought about this before and just recently it occurred to me that he probably did the old school thing where he just had various private tutors either come to the manor or travel with him around the world while he studied a private, customized curriculum. As long as he could pass a standardized test somewhere between 14-18 he would've gotten some kind of diploma from somewhere. I don't know exactly where but I'm sure there's services for rich people who travel a lot. It's sort of like how child actors and musicians have a teacher come to set and teach them there. I didn't know what school's name is on their diploma but they must get one.

I would prefer a Murder She Wrote/Young Indiana Jones style show about young Bruce Wayne traveling the globe and getting pulled into all sorts of Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew style mysteries where he solves a new crime every week with cross guest star tutors cycling in and out and a couple of young cuties for him to have a bit of a love interest with all the while accompanied by Alfred.
>>
>>153983178
The only actual requirement for being a CEO is being decent at public speaking
>>
>>153984335
No, the gay thing. Yale is famous for creating homosexuals.
>>
>>153981731
They appeared in like 3 actual stories total. First there was a goofy Silver Age comic where Bruce's Aunt Agatha decided to visit so Bruce and Dick had to try to sneak out without her knowing they're Batman and Robin. Then there was an origin comic that showed Uncle Philip but the main focus was on >>153984657. After that they were pretty much ignored until some rando New 52 Batman story that brought back Philip, retconned him to be Martha's brother instead of Thomas', and then killed him off for no reason, because they just couldn't help themselves.

Batman '66 canon is that Bruce's great grandfather founded Skull & Bones

Don't forget that they actually had an Aunt Harriet in the comics for a while when Alfred went through one of hid dead phases.
>>
>>153987927
Dick's aunt though
>>
>>153987927
The current absence of Alfred would at least be a little more bearable if they did this again.
>>
>>153987927
uhhm Aunt Harriet kinda MILFY here why did the TV show turn her into some ole biddy
>>

From the ages of 8 to 15, he should probably just contribute to his future training in a bunch of little ways. No one ever became a super-athlete after only starting as an adult. Most kids who grew up to become athletes were already interested in athletics from an early age. So Bruce should start training his athleticism early on, at least within reasonable limits. Maybe he can take karate classes, I dunno. He should also be learning as much as possible as well at this critical stage in his life.
>>
>>153989856
That is an old biddy there. You're just a retard.

Probably after, because he was able to lift and throw this giant bell advertising thingy. So it would make more sense if he did that AFTER he started doing strength training

Although The Untold Legend of the Batman mini-series says Bruce doing detective work with Harvey as Robin happened one year after his parents' murder. So he should be 9 and one year before being bullied by Bart Lambert. But that doesn't make sense either so idk

Apparently at age 18 Bruce entered Gotham College as a criminology major. And later in the story it is confirmed that he did graduate college

Len Wein screw that one up. Because Detective Comics #226 states that Bruce was helping Harvey Harris when his parents were ALIVE

>>153994105
I'm not really even sure why Len Wein wanted Harvey Harris to be canon so badly. Detective Comics #226 wasn't even written by Bill Finger

The only story (afaik) that is a little bit like that is Detective Comics Annual #2

he went to college at age 18 like most people

most people who are good at athletics start incredibly early, bruce probably engaged in junior-boxing classes or even tournaments, karate classes, gymnastics, rugby, swimming, maybe baseball probably one of those kids who did a bit of everything and picked up body mechanics early.
school wise nothing special, though i see him being a bit more studious than your average kid.
