>>153983897Jesus fucking christ, way to miss the boat. What’s the point?
>>153983897>Kida front and center as girlbossoh no
>>153984109>Actually being mad over the "not final cover" cover not having Milo in the direct center
>>153984014There never was a boat, the movie failed.
>>153983897Why? Like, yeah, this movie has a cult following, but not nearly enough to justify acknowledging it ever again. Maybe someone high enough up the chain likes the movie and pushed this through. >>153984109>"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, IS THAT A F-F-FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMALE??? TATE-SAMA, SAVE MEEEEEEE!!!"
>>153984014>>153984342There was a submarine
They've gotta retain their copyrights by actively using their old properties, right? Same as every other "reboot" that Disney has been shitting out recently?
>>153984477No it has nothing to do with copyrights, even if it did Atlantis has some 70 years left under current US laws.Simply it is the 25th anniversary and Atlantis actually has a strong cult following fandom now, so now Disney sees a market for merch and comic continuations to profit on it. Now this is why you are seeing stuff happen with Atlantis when for two decades it was an entirely dead IP
>>153983897Was the Sword in the Stone sequel comic they did any good?
>>153983897One big problem: it seems based entirely around Kida’s village, and doesn’t have Milo’s crew, who were the highlight of the movie. If they’re not in this then it’s a big miss.
>>153984477I think they just want everyone to forget that Milo/tarzan animation
Problem is they already did this with the aborted tv series that they wrapped into a “movie”That had a psychic Kraken and a Norse schizo almost triggering Ragnarok. Then the brought Atlantis itself back to the surface. What threat and ending could they reveal on par with that? Not to mention it reunited Milo and Kida with the the rest of the crew and as >>153984985 says their absence would essentially be omitting half of the appeal of the movie for any fan of the film you’re trying to market this toThe math is all wrong here
>>153984985Yeah I gotta say if this doesn't have the crew, it's a no go from the start. Milo and Kida are easiest the weakest characters to follow in the movie but canonically speaking (disregarding the sequel) it's pretty much impossible to bring back the character dynamics that made the movie work.
>>153984985There is no way to bring back the rest of the crew without it feeling cheap and convoluted like Milo's Return did. They all choose to return to their lives while keeping Atlantis a secret and Milo chose to leave his life to stay. You cannot really have them leave their lives for good without lessening the impact of the original or have them continually drop their lives to return to this place they said does not exist. At some point their stories finished you have to let them go while going forward with Milo and Kida, whose story did not.
>>153984342>>153984416>t. cuckolds
>>153985904At least wait until the comic comes out to see if Milo gets sidelined or humiliated instead of getting insecure over a non-finalized cover art
Sex with Kida (and Milo)
>>153985108>Problem is they already did this with the aborted tv series that they wrapped into a “movie”yeah but nobody cares about the direct to video movie
>>153983897I'll take it. Next Treasure Planet I hope
>>153983897>comic continuation of something decades laterThat seems to be the trend these days.
>>153988467What are the chances that happens next? I would think it be low but I never would have thought Atlantis would come back in any capacity so it's hard to say anymore.
I’m surprised Dynamite didn’t do this. They’re already doing Disney comics like Lion King, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, etc.
>>153986294I wasn't the one complaining, but you're still absolutely a cuck for whining about someone complaining.
>>153983897Too late.
I have been thinking, but Disney wants to attract boys and they are probably at an entire loss what to do now. Tron bombed, Indy bombed, Star Wars is now a dead IP, and MCU is just holding on but obvious fatigue set in. Three of their IPs are dead at the box office and one is just holding on and at risk of doing so.Maybe they they are reviving Atlantis because they see it as something for boys as it was originally intended and this is to see how it could do? It has hit well with Gen Z and maybe Gen A all these years later and they might be entirely lost how else to go besides if Pirates is revived
