Let us read every TMNT comic ever made. This is going to be a long one. This is the reading order I am using.https://eliasrwrites.ghost.io/tag/so-you-want-to-read-tmnt/Previous thread >>153967917
This was the most recent issue of Journeys. After this we will be past the reprints.
>>153986749We get it Pete, you like MACs.
>>153987300Eastman and Laird cameo
>>153986065THEY'RE EATINGAND THEN THEY'LL EAT MEOH MY GAWWWWWWD
>>153988493Sitting on a park bench...
End.
>>153986170Welp, time for Laird to show he can give Image a run for its money in the coveted "Most Retarded" category
>>153986726This is so fucking ridiculous and dumb, in so many different ways at once, that I'm honestly kind of impressed.
>>153986818Oh right, this is v4, where Laird doesn't know what to do with Splinter anymore, so he stands around doing nothing for 10 issues and then just fucking dies.
>>153986864At least the utroms are always neat!
>>153989894You ain't seen nothing yet.
>>153986887Sorry, Mr. Jones, we wanted to build twenty thousand nanonCaseybots for you to pilot, but we couldn't get the tiny masks right, and have you priced microscopic baseball bats lately?
>>153986398>>153986407Even if Mirage Donnie is the most pacifist, he can still kill some irredeemable people if necessary.
I remember Lawson has drew a art of good ending for Mirage Turtles.
>>153987543Middle-aged Mutant Translocation Reorientation Facilitation Officer Turtle!Hero on the Telepad!Walmart Greeter!
>>153986026>>153986036Well that was a dull resolution to a dull sidequest.Jay knowing of Splinter could have led to a confrontation with Shadow.
>>153988215>MichelangeloOh right, Laird decided Mikey's name for the entire original run was a misspelling and needed to be corrected. It's not quite a "Han shot first" level of bullshit retcon, but still fie on you, Mr. Laird. There, I said it!
>>153988464This artist just straight-up drew Splinter as a cartoon wolf. He looks like he should be howling at the girlies in a Tex Avery cartoon.
>>153990551Yeah, going with "and then he forgets because of ESP man and he goes away and nothing happens" is the worst way to resolve that plot.
Man, I never would have thought the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were so boring. It’s no wonder literally every other version of the characters were more relevant throughout the years.
>>153991203You can't judge it on this, this is just Laird (without Eastman) doing his own idea of what volume 4 would have been, almost 10 years after the original run ended.
>>153989995No, namefag attention whore, it may have been a long time since I read this, but I'm pretty sure "using a hundred thousand tiny ninja turtle robots somehow all piloted simultaneously by the four members of the TMNT via Mentawave tech to do underwater kung-fu in April's veins to stop Stockman's lazy nano robots that he implanted in her shoulder decades ago from finally getting around to killing her, all done in a secret superhero hospital in Manhattan instead of the Utrom island so that terrorists can blow up the data line they're using and stop the surgery briefly just to add some artificial suspense" is the single dumbest thing ever in this continuity of the TMNT. That's if you accept any of this run as canon to the original. I'm not counting Archie stuff, I haven't read it, though I know they get silly. That's supposed to be a different continuity.
>>153991354What about April and Renet participating in cockroach orgies?
>>153991482Oh yeah, I'd call that maybe a close second. I'd have to review the other dumb shit to be sure.
>>153987486Aw shiet, here we go
>>153986749You know, reading these issues I’ve come to the realization that the way Laird does his written dialogue is almost the exact same as Chris Chan’s.
>>153987816Look at those dorks
as someone who has never read the comics is TMNT even any good
>>153987858Battle versions of exo-suits still don't have a belly plate?
>>153991939Only the first twelve or so.
>>153991939The first 62 issues are, yeah. For the most part.
>>153988322Oh sure, Donatello becoming a cyborg was so stupid during the image era! Let's turn Raphael into a vampire instead!I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm starting to miss the Image run.
>>153988377This cover looks a lot like the cartoon that was airing at that time.
>>153992037It was dumb, but at least it was fast paced and action-packed. And I liked Mikey being a writer and having Sara as his gf.
>>153991203New series will continue revamping characters from Mirage, FW or Archie, but most of these will ultimately serve little purpose outside of nostalgia bait and milking more money. Let's be honestly, adding new elements to TMNT is not problem, it always because of poor execution.
>>153989503Well, Nanoturtlebots at least has a bit of that old school retarded vibe as opposed to new school retarded vibe of random cyborg parasite.
>>153991939It's good until and including City at War from what I gathered from these threads.
>>153993396Yeah there's some stuff inbetween the early issues and CaW which are not done by Eastman & Laird, and are not universally liked, but the E&L parts are excellent IMO. The first 12 issues are amazing.
>>153993658Even the bad stuff in volume one are still at the level of being at least interesting.
>>153992276In the IDW soft relaunch series, he also become a action star, but unfortunately, this didn't last long, because some stupid plot points forced the four brothers have to get back together. But as you know similar examples are common in IDW TMNT. They wasted a lot of potential settings and plots.
>>153989894>>153991203man I can't understand you guys at all, this shit is dumb but entertaining. I lol'd when the nanobot boss showed up >>153986926
>>153987449or this, funniest shit I've ever seen
POOM
>>153989954With the militia guys established a cover showing Splinter in literal crosshairs you'd think it was a setup to have Splinter shot by anti-xeno activists. But no, he just falls over and dies.
>>153995666This is what TMNT has been reduced to.
>>153986755Imagine, back in the days people believed in xenophobic white people.
