Yesterday Senator tried to give the whole world AIDS, we all learned our letters, and Peter got cloned again>previous threadshttps://pastebin.com/QnuG62fX
Quite a motley crew we have in space
They're really dipping into the... second stringers here
>>153985871Here for Carol
>>153986040Magic never gets a big spotlight when it isn't Dr. Strange or the 70's when other mystic stuff was going on ans Busiek really likes obscure shit or obscure Avengers shit.
>>153986040I want to know more about Mechamage.
>>153986101With all these *s I'm starting to think that the Spiderman tie ins were kind of worthless for the overall story.
>>153986168I like Ego getting used. But these faces....lol.
>>153986160A quick tells me that *she* has one single other appearance; FF Annual '99>>153986186Really looks that way, but we did only read a quarter of the whole event
USAUSAUSA
>>153985806>Clone me once, shame on you. Clone me... you can't get cloned again.
>>153986040I didn't know Dee Jay was a mystic master.
>>153986620This really was a nothing event. Well, unless you're a fan of this guy, then you are eating good.
Gobblin' time
>>153986725This is such a shit direction to take Norman. I hope this is more short lived than the youth vampire Vulture era.
Ah!Evil toothpaste!
We're doing one of these adventures
>>153986732So, the "gift" of the Gathering of Five can be undone that easily, huh.
>>153986881Oh yeah, I forgot Norman personally delivered free tooth paste.
When did Norman re-find out that Peter is Spider-Man?>>153986859Ancient magic quivers before modern science
>>153986823>>153986881Man, every time we think we're joking...
>>153986914>When did Norman re-find out that Peter is Spider-Man?Did he forget in the first place? I thought it was just Venom who forgot his identity.
>>153986940Actually maybe that's what I'm thinking of
>>153986772>>153986955>worshipped by a cult>blonde named Kolin(a)Whose idea was it to make Norman into a Street Fighter III reference?
>>153986914>3rd panelExploitable.
Uncle Ben lore
>>153987159Just a reminder we are still in this stupid story line.
>>153987159>to lose a mateWeird phrasing.
>>153987187>Lou Abbott
I can't believe Spider-Man would do this to you, Norman
>>153986602Bring this Prof X back damn it
>>153986772And then they tried this again during Slott's run
I’m from Poland.
Norman, there's like 15 other people that know his secret
>>153985871I hate that Colossus costume
This will go well
Alright, good case so far, NormanWe can all see you aren't crazy
That's it for today!Come back tomorrow to see the definitive end of Spider-Man!
>>153987796Thanks for storytiming, Magister!
>>153986040>They're really dipping into the... second stringers hereI don't even know who the last two of those mystics are, and I don't remember if there was a good story reason why Strange was unavailable.>>153986122Strange didn't even have his own book at this time, and I don't think any other mystic characters did either. Back then, Wanda being on the Avengers was the highest-profile mystic character appearing in an ongoing book. I could see the logic in the backup being some minor characters and some really obscure ones, so as not to overshadow her the way Strange would have, but Wanda doesn't even get to really do anything anyway. Maybe you're right and it was just Busiek preferring to get his obscure faves in over the more obvious choices.
>>153986647>This really was a nothing event. It really was pretty bad, the kind of bad that in isolation makes you wonder why people love the guy who wrote it so much.At least anyone who read it here will at least be reminded of what a dickheel Ronan the Accuser is supposed to be written as.>Well, unless you're a fan of this guy, then you are eating good.Only if you like US Agent and like this revamp of him. It only lasts for one mini anyway, IIRC after that he doesn't show up again until a terrible revival of The Invaders where he's a second Captain America instead of being US Agent.>>153986772Speaking of stories that make you wonder why people love the guy who wrote them, this cult leader thing for Norman thankfully only lasts for just this one story.
>>153987883>I don't even know who the last two of those mystics areI looked them up on the wiki, and both had the same previous appearance, competing in the contest to determine the next Sorceror Supreme in "Dr. Strange and Dr. Doom: Triumph and Torment."Also, for those outside the X-sphere? Margali is Nightcrawler's adoptive mother. Go fig.
>>153986919You try to warn people about the toothpaste, but it just sounds so stupid everyone thinks you're joking...
>>153987883And I only knew Agatha
>>153986955So I guess the Osborn hair thing doesn't extend to moustaches.
>>153988814>So I guess the Osborn hair thing doesn't extend to moustaches.I need to see this now. Someone please draw Norman or Harry with a full beard in the same style as their hair.
>>153987756You know, this isn't any stupider than some of the other plans he's retroactively pulled off, but having it happen in real time is something else.
>>153987741and we never saw Kolina again
>>153989236Apparently she shows up in Cult of Carnage from like three years agoActually this is the last appearance of Menken
>>153988026>cult leaderNorman should preferably always be a lone actor. However, Norman does sometimes try to act as a criminal mastermind/leader. That's his original goal before his fate was intertwined with Spider-Man and their hatred turned into a lifelong deadly feud. That shit is why we began to find even more substance and kino between GG and Spidey. However, do you guys think Norman, especially in his Thunderbolts appearances, could also work as a character who begrudgingly or patiently waits while working with others, either mooks under his control or other villains? I have to say, it requires Norman to have justification and an aside to show he will eventually betray them because of his ego, but if those elements are in place then I am more willing to see GG in this role as a villain leader/boss.>>153988871Harry did have the fu-manchu as Magister probably remembers from the Romita era. I forgot he initially said MJ digged it and then Spidey later on catches him shaving it and thinking MJ actually must have not liked it, kek. Kung fu fighting? MJ LOVES it. Fu manchu? MJ HATES it.
>>153989560>Magister probably remembershaha yeah...
>>153989560>However, do you guys think Norman, especially in his Thunderbolts appearances, could also work as a character who begrudgingly or patiently waits while working with others, either mooks under his control or other villains? That's kinda how Bendis wrote him during Dark Reign. He was surprisingly flexible, and we got to see a good deal of that as he kept getting put into situations where he's the most reasonable guy in the room, but he still had a boiling point.
Bump. I'll read it tomorrow.
>>153987756>IT WAS ME PETER!>I FED YOUR UNCLE'S VOICE TO AI AND MADE HIM SING!
I guess spider sense not warning you about drug and poison huh
>>153986434AMERICAAAAAAAAFUCK YEAH
>>153986853>>153986881>face/off
>>153987562Cute shadow, Norman
>>153989555Rewally?Man I remember Menken being way more prominent than he actually was.
>>153986259>Everyone still thinks Iron man is just a guy who works for Tony StarkI guess the Avengers were the only ones in the know till Civil War.
>>153987159Aunt May your hair looks like a mushroom cap
>>153992775It goes back and forth. Obviously, you have the usual people who pick it up over time like various friends, Avengers, and enemies. After another leak in Busiek Iron Man where the Spymaster's Espionage Elite compromise his identity, it is really notable how many know it. During an annual with Captain America, he hijacks Mentallo's mind connection scheme to wipe knowledge of Iron Man being Tony Stark from minds (you could argue about how effective this actually would be since there are other methods of archiving information than minds, but the only story that relies on someone who knows forgetting is the Controller one, so it doesn't matter). He reveals himself again to a select few, which includes more than just the ones actually shown in it. Of course, you have two stories that either explicitly mention shielding against psychic attacks or do it so even if it was wiped you gained it again. Then under Mike Grell, he publicly reveals himself as Iron Man saving a dog. He's known for a while, but then for Dissembled you have a really lazy way for going back of claiming retirement.
>>153994606>Then under Mike Grell, he publicly reveals himself as Iron Man saving a dog. That must've been the tamest secret identity reveal of all time
>>153994937Essentially. Grell's Iron Man is weird.
>>153991622Norman has drugged Peter and Ben to disable their senses in Clone Saga's second to last issue, so that's the least outlandish aspect in this context.
>>153986112This went a lot better than the last time Monica tried diplomacy in space and a teammate interupted.
>>153987796I just realized, this came out near the time of Iron Man:Bad Blood. Of course, Gobbing it up means more mind screw.
