How come nobody ever ever talks about this groundbreaking and influential show?

The egg and snake one creeps me the fuck out.

We have Æon Flux threads not irregularly. Usually it’s after some zoom zoom “discovers” it. Béa is and Butthead have popped up. It’s a little bit more rare, but I’ve seen threads for The Max and The Head pop up.
The rest of liquid television wasn’t really noteworthy aside from the fact that it was part of liquid television. It sucks that it was so short lived. It was exactly the sort of counter cultural programming for subversive animation that would have been cool to see more of, but I guess not enough people thought that.

It’d be nice if some Glitch like group popped up to focus on programming like this, but I’m not sure the type of people who would be into it would also reliably buy merch to support it. Glitch shows are made to appeal to turbo autists because once they latch onto something, they’ll empty their wallets to buy stupid shit just because it’s related to their current autistic fixation. This sort of thing appeals to a different type of retard who might fixate on the shows, but would necessarily find value in owning every piece of merch. They’d just bicker online about it and if it wasn’t already freely available on YouTube, probably pirate it too.

I love Aeon Flux, but feel like the series was tarnished by that shit hollywood movie.

I mean, there’s no shortage of threads about What A Cartoon Show, Ka-Blam, Oh Yeah, even Shorty Mc Short Shorts. But somehow the one that started it all gets no discussion?

Adult swim stole its legacy mostly.

Aeon Flux is of course great. Its a clever unique show. I liked Invisible Hands. With the comic art of Richard Sala

If you think this, then that’s on you.
Most people who were actually fans before the film came out knew what to expect. They “tank girl’ed” it.
There’s no way there were going to have the balls to make it as grotesque, sexual, or surreal as the original. It was just a vehicle for some dipshit writers to insert their own fiction.

Because liquid television is aimed at an older age demographic. You have to be gen X or an early millennial to have caught it on tv which filters like 80% of this board, and even then, it doesn’t appeal to the child like fixation of most turbo autists like stuff made for actual children is.

pretty much yeah

A lot of animators featured in that show went on to create popular kids cartoons (Ed Edd n Eddy, Courage, etc).

A lot of the shows didn't really get that many reruns and most of /co/ apparently just grew up watching CN, Nick, and Disney. People on this boards nowadays also seem to rarely seek out older media that wasn't directly a part of their childhoods.

There's one short about a guy falling in love with a bear and their relationship until the bear decides she would rather be with another bear. IIRC, it was done by the person who made that Summer Camp Island series.
Liquid Television failed the same reason anthology comics fail in the US. The american audience wants complete stories, beginning to end focused on a singular plot. The grab-bag nature of anthology series has little appeal outside of the arthouse crowd and weirdos like /co/.
