As Bats says, there was always something wrong with Joker long before his OBD.The comic ends with a shot of a puddle in the rain, same shot that begins it, showing the cyclical nature of Batman and Joker's conflict.

The whole thing about Joker being Liam Driscoll was retconned as a long simmering "prank" similar to the Batman Black and White story where Joker had Harley plant a case file in Arkham Asylum's records that said Joker was faking his insanity all along. At the time, in the period between DOTF and Endgame, Joker was in disguise working at Arkham and began dating a fellow psychiatrist who was interested in the Joker and the idea that he was Liam Driscoll, with the intent on writing the definitive book exposing "the secret identity of Joker". When Joker freed everyone in Arkham in Endgame, a bunch of inmates cornered the female shrink in her office and Joker stopped by to reveal that her BFF and lover was in fact, the Joker all along. She was horrified, so to twist the knife, he told her that Liam Driscoll didn't exist and that everyone she talked to about Liam was paid to tell anyone asking about him lies and how Joker planted all evidence about his existence as a means to prank anyone looking into his past (which again, contradicts Year Zero). So the female shrink is then given a gun with one bullet in it and told to kill herself or let the inmates trying to get into the room rape and kill her. Joker leaves and we hear the shrink kill herself via suicide.

Joker teases that he's going to kill everyone and steal his kid but ends up allowing everyone to live but reminding his wife that he can kill her and their son at any time and that she is "free of him" so long as Joker sees fit to allow it. Adding to this, Geoff Johns teased in his final JSA run that Joker's son will eventually become a Robin and fight Joker alongside Batman until something bad happened to him; something so bad and violent, that it makes Catwoman force Batman to never train Helena (their daughter) as a super-hero.

He's wearing Joker's iconic outfit and has the long chin. Flashback comedian doesn't have the chin; perhaps the most iconic part of Joker outside the green hair and white skin. Everyone loves the whole "multiple choice backstory" thing, but don't stop to consider that this is one of them.
