I think Marvel is fucked. Looking at comics to buy I think the compact comics price is extremely good at 9.99. Then I saw a Daredevil comic book for a full story with the same size and paper quality as the compact comics and thought "damn this looks awesome". Then I realized it was 24.99.

>24.99
I can get a full volume of manga at 14.99, the more expensive manga being 19.99. A majority of books are around 19.99, where going over only happens with hard covers. Why would anybody by a Daredevil book that is soft cover with cheap paper as the same price as a hard cover book?!?

It's baffling. DC's stuff has taken over my physical collection because of this, even though I think Marvel heroes like Daredevil are awesome. I ended up buying a hardcover novel instead since I know that will last longer for the price.

So why is Marvel shooting themselves in the foot like this?

At this point I'm convinced that it's childish resentment, obsessively hating the fans, and basically that Eltingville Club panel with Josh talking about why he wants to work in comics

How the fuck does that height scale in the picture work? going from 5 foot 6 to 6 foot in 4 steps is so weird, thats like 6/4 inches per stripe

Link? There are a lot of panels with dumb shit, it's hard not to mix them up mentally.

Marvel has their own compact comics competitor, Premier editions, but they're slightly more expensive and have released far less. It's frustrating and they've made awful choices overall, like there's no Spider-man book despite him being Marvel's biggest character. That's just bizarre.

Anon. Im going to let you in on something.
Marvel and Disney hate spiderman. Why? Sony owns him.
Think OMD wasnt a cold evil destruction of the character out of corporate spite?

They've been like this for over 20 years.

Why would you choose to work on a medium that you basically hate? Not because it degraded but because of its core nature
>>
It's the price hike on the Epic Collections that kill me. Especially with there, what must be intentional, scarcity. You can get a DC Finest for like half the price and they're bigger.

Marvel is like the WWE, They are deeply embarrassed of the business that they're in and desperately want to be Hollywood.

i've never seen these on store shelves so far.

figured it was this one.

Small men reaching for small amounts of power

they still publish a bunch of Spider-man TPBs, so its strange wouldn't at least add something

I think these Marvel compacts are $14.99, not $24.99
Still more expensive than the DC Compacts though
