I really relate to Bojack treating his mom like shit. The only reason bad parents become subservient later on is because they're too old and frail to be their shitty selves. The fact that the horse girl, and by extension the viewer, treats it like a bad thing is the same kind of moralizing like you can't ever kill the villain because that makes you just as bad.

I can't relate and I'm having the opposite problem where both my parents nearly died in the past and now I'm scared to death of them dying and leaving me. It's to the point where I have to check and see if they're still breathing when they're asleep to feel better and get some sleep myself.
