After that the third Grendel shows up and dies like two issues later. Then a nuclear war happens and there's a big time skip where the catholic church grows to become a world superpower again. Probably the most skippable part of the story because the second and third grendel aren't that interesting and the timeskip means they don't have anything to do with the later volumes aside from like one character that shows up again. (Sadly it's not Argent)Volume three: The fourth Grendel and Orion and fight the catholic church and vampires and it's epic. Then Orion becomes the fifth Grendel/first Grendel-Khan and takes over post apocalyptic earth while fighting vampiresVolume four: Grendel Prime, Orion's top guy protects his heir like Ogami in Lone Wolf and Cub while fighting zombies and vampires and shit in the wasteland. Then the plot kinda peters out because the publisher went bankrupt and there's a weird crossover with Batman Devil's Odyssey: Grendel in SPACE! also the writing is really woke.Devil's Crucible: The year is 2845. California lives under VAMPIRE RULE. All Grendels are hunted down. Humans live to serve VAMPIRE KINGS in vast towers. Welcome to California's VAMPIRE FUTURE.
