It could never just be about lampooning celebrities while depicting gratuitous violence, but they'd each end up being representative of their views (whether done intentionally or not) and the outcome of the fights would be suspect of indicating the views of the people who worked on the show with the winner being whoever they ideologically supported.

In which case AVGN/Nostalgia Critic will in a weird way end up canon to the Simpsons due to the crossover.
