Like most cartoons now (especially storydriven ones), these are only for socially maladjusted 20 somethings that grew up watching anime and could emulate it but didn't have the skill or talent to do so successfully. Adventure Time and Steven Universe have been a disaster for the animation industry.

Cartoons in general are kinda dead, there are maybe like 6 shows of note airing this year, and most of them are aimed at adults (ostensibly).

Overall it was an ok show of it’s time like American dragon was or tailspin. I agree with the middle aged woman thing though.
