It's especially notable in how the comic depicts the laize faire parenting that leads to the mentally unwell kids congregating together, and getting to horrific drama instead of getting any sort of education. Literally everyone in the cliques I hung out in wore that goth style makeup and identified as gay or something to the point where it's not even jarring to me. If anything the comic made the kids too well adjusted since about half my peers were genuinely illiterate to the point they couldn't read a book and high constantly.
The only good one I've read so far is Strangers in Paradise but it's not full on lesboslop.
