Going to World in a few days, what can I expect?
Last went in 2011. No idea what has changed. Young family wants to see Marvel, Frozen, Cars stuff.

I am supposed to be doing research for them, but search engines fucking suck now so I’m trying to supplement my research with asking around various places online. Pls clue me in, thank you

A lot has Changed.
Hollywood studios has expanded with Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story land. Magic Kingdom is gutting Frontierland. Epcot is still getting mid and Animal Kingdom got Avatar and is changing Dinoland.
Epcot has a Frozen and Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction.
No Major Cars stuff.

Assuming you mean for Florida
>Marvel
Disney World largely does not have Marvel because of some prior rights argument with Universal. The only Marvel/MCU ride is Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Epcot which is a spinning coaster. Look up videos to see if it will be too intense. Otherwise take them to Universal Island of Adventure they have a very old Marvel land (also mostly thrill rides)
>Frozen
Again Epcot, at Norway. They have Frozen Ever After boat ride and a meet and greet with Elsa and the other girl
>Cars
Largely missed out, in the middle of when they removed the Cars show at Hollywood Studios and the new ride at Magic Kingdom in a few years. However they do have a Cars themed hotel area at Art of Animation

The Marvel stuff is at an entirely separate park? Jesus, that sucks. I don’t think we can afford that.

Is there some agreement that makes the Marvel stuff in California OK there but not OK in Florida? Relatives saw that Disneyland portion and were convinced there was something like that here. Not sure how to break the news.

I guess I’ll have to find a way to put googly eyes on the Test Track vehicles to sate them. Thanks. :(

Tl;dr the Island of Adventure Marvel Land was built in the 90s when it was a standalone company. Their contract states that they have exclusive theme park rights to any characters used in the land east of the Mississippi and the name Marvel in perpetuity as long as the land exists and is maintained. This carried over after Disney bought Marvel and why Disney World is the only resort they cannot use Marvel content.
Guardians was not included in the Universal land since it was a very obscure series at the time, which is why it is the only Marvel characters they could loophole using for an attraction.
IOA is in Orlando around a 10 mile drive from Disney World. If you are renting a car or get an uber you can easily get here and spend a day here instead of a park like Animal Kingdom. Do that, go to Epcot for Guardians/Frozen and stay at the Cars area of AOA and you cover everyone

Most Disney parks are missing a section right now for construction. so things a more limited than normal.
>Magic Kingdom has an upcoming Cars Land being worked on so everything above Frontier Land is walled off. Also the train only goes to one stop and back.
>Animal Kingdom is building a South America land so 1/5 of that park is walled off
>Hollywood Studios is building a Monsters Inc Land so 1/5 of that park is walled off

Poorfag wageslave here, are the Disney parks worth the expense?

Universal Islands of Adventure Marvel Land is also incredibly 90s coded. The Spider-Man ride seems like it is based on the early 90s fox Kids cartoon. Everything is decorated with 90s era marvel trading cards, but overall it's really just 3 shops, 2 restaurants, a Spider-Man 3D dark ride, Doom drop ride, and Hulk coaster. More like a very well themed carnival type of thing.

I'm not sure just what Disney would do with MCU stuff if they had the ability to use it in the Florida parks. Best assumption is another half ass mini land in Hollywood Studios with another screen ride.

Yeah, lately their theming of an area is just fucking lazy. Avatar Land is just a weird decorated cliff with a restaurant and two small rides. It's not really much of a Land at all. More like a corner. There is nothing to walk around and see, just the big mountain themed building that holds the rides.

Tron land is way worse, that's more like a big half melted circus tent with lights.

MCU land would probably have the same half assery, probably be in the spot where they are putting Monsters Inc section in Hollywood Studios and really just be a quick service restaurant with some Avengers or Shield cafeteria, and maybe a bumpy 3D screen ride where you fly in a Quinjet or Black Panther's flying car thingy.
