Looking back, did the Eds really need the acceptance of the cul de sac kids? It’s not like the Eds could actually bond with the other kids about anything, a friendship with them would be more superficial than what the Eds have with each other.
>>154029396I mean it's not like all the kids on the surface have much in common anyway. But they still get along. As a kid you don't really need too much more than just living near each other. Besides we've seen that they can get along with most of the rest of the kids at least decently well at different points in the series.
>>154029396You've just described every characters friendship with one another. What did Rolf have in common with any of them? Jimmy? Johnny? A lot of their problem was that the trio ostracized themselves by constantly trying to get one over on them all. They made assholes of themselves and THAT was why they were considered losers, not because all the rest of the kids were bullying them. There was even an instance where Kevin, their "enemy", was all set to give them jawbreakers until Eddy kept being a dickhead, so in a fundamental sense they excluded themselves from the benefits of friendly stances with the rest of the street.
>>154029396Being okay with Kevin means unlimited jawbreakers. They could also make stuff for fun eithout anyone worrying about being scammed.Doudle D in general got reasonably well with others, but got shat on for assossiation.
>>154029464Yeah this. Show never once portrays the Eds as victims of unwarranted ostracization. Even the other kids are shown to be assholes to each other too on random occasions
>>154029396In the original script of the movie, were the police going to get involved in the search for the eds? What would the Peach Creek police department look like?
