I completely agree with everything you said about the episode. Caine’s storyline was by far the absolute worst part. The arc totally derailed the episode’s potential and left a sour taste that stuck with me. Right from the beginning, it came across as sloppy, rushed, and emotionally dishonest, undercutting all the strong buildup the show had established earlier.His so-called death was toothless and completely without consequences. It amounted to nothing more than getting yeeted into the void for a quick timeout. There was zero genuine sense of loss, no meaningful grief from the supporting cast, and absolutely no lasting effect on the story or world. The worst part of the entire episode is definitely everything surrounding Caine and his storyline. His death amounts to nothing more than him being temporarily sent into the void for a short while, and the way he resolves all his deep emotional issues in just ten minutes only to receive immediate forgiveness from everyone feels incredibly strange and unconvincing.

Even the boring filler arcs and episodes actually introduce new concepts and characters and fun scenes to the show. It's just unwieldy for anyone that wants to get into it fresh eyed and new to the world, you can't just jump into the new stuff because you are expected to actually know about the previous adventures and characters. It's not like bleach where you can skip entire seasons and not miss anything important.
