The thing that tips it for me is that if you do start leaning into authorial intent, I don't think that Fuji would have made a big deal of Yoru doing shit like folding states in half if he didn't at least intend for her to be operating at fuck you levels of power.
Maybe it's something that's inherently uncalcable but I'm not really bothered by Denji taking an edge in power, at least in the context of a fight with Yuji.

Yeah, the fight scenes are definitely well presented in jjk. But imo I think the main issue for the series for powerscalling, is that most of the cast doesn't really have that much variety in their moveset. Generally in jjk, someone has one major ability and sometimes it's a useful one. Ultimately for powerscailing it tends to be more interesting when characters have multiple different factors to consider rather than "Oh you countered my only decent trick, I guess I'll die now." You've got the jobbers, who obviously aren't going to have an interesting fight in the first place. And then you've got the "who needs a magic system when I can punch people instead" Heavenly Restriction method of Maki and Toji which while being quite neat with how all it functions in the worldbuilding and in-universe mechanics, for out-of-jjk powerscaling basically boils down to "really physically strong plus good with a personal weapon." Not much to analyze there, either their opponent is stronger than them or not. The same goes for anybody who has one real move and that it...so like 90% of the cast. The major characters with more than one move/or some versatilely in said move list is pretty much left down to Sukuna, Gojo (the guys that are supposed to be the most broken people in the setting.) Yuji (Got half of his moves leeching off Sukuna, but still) and Megumi (kek, but seriously. Ten Shadows is one of the most versatile techniques in the series, the different summons almost make up for him pretty much being a one trick pony. Almost.)
