Did it live up to the hype?
>>154047852My hype was that fans would be disappointed, and it looks like I'm right. Now I just wait for them to realize how shit it always was and why...
>>154047852No.
>>154047907>Now I just wait for them to realize how shit it always was and why...I anticipate a whole cycle of disappointment surrounding Glitch's shows. If I were a betting person, I'd wager Gameoverse will have the worst finale of them all. Not that it was ever good to begin with.
>>154048213>I'd wager Gameoverse will have the worst finale of them all.Reset ending or a Kit does a Star Butterfly ending?
>>154048407I think it'll be a mostly unresolved ending ala. Reboot, they're basically lifting parts of Matrix's arc wholesale.
>>154047852It was only alright. They didn't nail the landing but they didn't crash the plane. Some parts of the finale felt very pointless given how it resolved (conjuring in the circus, trying to un-abstract Jax, etc.), and some of the most important stuff was told to us instead of shown (Jax's backstory, Caine's redemption, etc.). Gooseworx seems to rely on people talking and telling their feelings a lot in order to resolve character dilemmas. But that's not why the show got off the ground: it's the elements that were shown which made it work. I get that has a place with Jax, since sincerity is the antidote to irony, but I don't feel like the idea of resisting irony is present anywhere else in the finale. As such I'm somewhat confused as to what the primary narrative throughline is.6/10, it was an okay ending
Ummm hatesisters, I thought everyone was supposed to hate it?
>>154048689>no critic reviewsYeah, they're gonna tear this a new one.
>>154048605There wasn't much to crash in the first place. Essentially everything important that happened happened in three episodes.
>>154048706The critics haven't even seen the show, they won't even review this
>>154047907The pilot has something off. It's the only episode I watched and after finding out the creator is a tranny it now makes sense. I refuse to watch the rest of the show because I'm guessing it's just a bunch of characters that are basically gay or the guy's self inserts like Pomni.
>>154048724Ehhhhhh... I don't think that stopped critics before. King of Thieves was technically the finale to the Aladdin TV series.>33% critic scoresThe fuck? I thought this was higher regarded than Return of Jafar.
>>154048689This poster pisses me off because it gave me the impression Jax was going to do so much more creating of things, that he'd have a bit of trying to treat the place as his own plaything before abstracting. Instead it's just the poster artists hard carrying
Genuine question. Is there ANYTHING that could have actually turned this fanbase? They are way too committed.
>>154048872Define the fanbase. There's a very, very vocal subsection that now vehemently hate the show. Best you could say is the fanbase is bipolar.
>>154047852Why the fuck did Goose choose to center the finale around Jax?He really isn't that goddamn interesting It's also hilarious how even though the swear filter is removed, there's barely any cursing. TADC fans will have to accept that this is a kids show sooner or later
>>154048872Goose renounces to pretending to be a woman, calls his fanbase a bunch of mentally ill people and then tells them to vote for Republicans.
>soma theory is real>jax abstracts offscreen>pomni goes into his mind for like 20 minutes but he stays abstracted anyway>caine is still alive and is good now>they continue going on adventures forever with caine replacing jaxit was not good

>>154047852>The leaks were fucking real>Literally a 1:1As a jaxfag, I really don't know what to do
I think it focused too much on Jax.Not really a fan of how their backstories were just infodumped.
>>154049182>literally a 1:1so it was an earlier version with minor changes?
sex with Ribbit
>>154049182>>The leaks were fucking realIt was hilarious in hindsight seeing just how far some people were willing to go just to "prove" that the leak was "fake."
>>154049383It was Stranger Things all over again
>>154049403I'm an R&Sfag, and even I accepted that the leaked reboot we were given was total crap. What makes TADCfags react so differently to leaks? (Keep in mind, I only saw its pilot and dipped because I knew it wasn't going to be for me.)
>>154049383I'm gonna laugh at Danny North's apology if he ever bothers to
>>154049293I would beat Jax to death with my bare hands for wasting the hottest piece of frog ass in the digiverse. We would find out how much pain his cartoon body could take before forcibly abstracting.
>>154049535I'm pretty sure he was gay too, otherwise that mf wouldn't abandon her
>>154049482It's hard for them to accept their perfect creator Gooseworx made anything bad, even though the entire show peaked at the pilot and has only gotten progressively worse each episode
>>154049647>even though the entire show peaked at the pilotHuh, then I dipped at the right time LMAO. Looked to be some hyperactive Zamination stuff that would've never appealed to me.
>>154049715The main issue is that so much is set up in the pilot that is basically never expanded upon until episode 8 and even then, it's not sufficiently explained because we have to focus on Jax.Whenever Jax is not in the room, everyone should ask where is Jax, am I right?
>>154049788So what I'm getting at is the show does a complete 180 on the protagonist focus? Porn artists gave me the impression that it was the Pomni show, not the Jax show.
>>154048689I'm just back from the theater and it got two standing ovations (pre and post credits), hate isn't how I would describe it
>>154048787That audience AND critic score are both insane. I loved this movie as a kid and thought it was a great follow-up to the original film.
>>154049850Pomni is mostly a viewer avatar.
>>154049850Nah, it's still the Pomni movie, they make a point of the fact she's the one holding everyone together, the one who understood that abstractions aren't unsalvageable, the one who could instinctively conjure stuff beside Kinger, who had already made peace with staying in the circus forever. A lot of Jax's situation is there so Pomni can be the one to get him out of his shell and unite everyone to rebuild the circus
>>154049919Ah, that explains why her personality felt so paper-thin compared to literally everyone else. (I suppose the excuse is that she's a "newbie", but if the show really did just focus on Jax later on, then my red flags were raised at the correct time.)
>>154049992>A lot of Jax's situation is there so Pomni can be the one to get him out of his shell and unite everyone to rebuild the circusFrom what you just described so far, I'm guessing the whole Jax thing was a subplot? Fair, you kinda need one to fill over an hour.
>>154050020No, it's one of the main focuses, just that it's all within the context of Pomni's attempt to save him when everyone else is just having regrets and leaving him for dead (until her efforts inpire them).
>>154048689So Circus Shit fans are lemmings, good to know.
>>154047852
>>154050459oh brother,at least get some footage or show any insane things if they happen
>>154047852It's a really really cheerful ending, it's not good, but at least kids in the audience had fun, and I hope this ending won't upset the fandom too much
>>154050634>I hope this ending won't upset the fandom too muchYou've been eating shit for three years; don't pretend to have standards now.
Pomni turned to him in the theater because she was afraid he had abstracted. She opened the door when he was on the verge of abstracting and asked if he was okay. Even after his button-smashing moment, she could see he was at his breaking point. Yes, he doubled down, and she was probably disappointed, but when he almost reached out to her, how the hell did she just let him go?Come on, Goose, at least for the sake of the fucking drama, have her try to stop him like in that scene from the Haruhi movie. The show is supposed to be about empathy and care, yet we ended up with that 'I regret not reaching out to him' shit. They should have shown the audience that no matter what she tries, he still won't listen, and then abstract him. That would have at least made her look like an actual hero everyone strives to be.
>>154050731>The show is supposed to be about empathy and careAnd Cooper is a ghoul, so naturally, he only knows enough about those things to make society rape itself to please him and the rest of the castration cult.
>>154048872You haven't been on twitter, the superfandom-types were looking for something to eat and dogpiled Kovatch and Goose hard for being "racist" and swearing up and down that they would never forgive the anyone working on the show or Glitch. Then the finale leaked and they got to rip into it at the height of the fervor.

It created so much buzz that the girl I'm seeing asked me to fuck her in her clown suit. And for this reason, it was a huge success (I've seen zero seconds of the show).
>>154050731I dunno, I feel it's really funny everyone expected a big freakout but it just directly cuts post-abstraction (and you get the freakout later anyway)
>>154048787critics were reviewing it as a sequel to aladdin, not a finale to the tv show
>>154051118Honestly? Good point, which is likely why Return of Jafar got such a bad rep despite being a literal TV pilot.
>>154050793That edgelord scammed so many people. I really think VAs been lying or crying cause of how anticathartic it was.

News at 11.
>>154051156No, they just capitulate to the cult because they work under one of its members. He could've turned in chicken-scratch on used toilet paper and they would've treated it like a masterpiece; that's basically wat they were already doing for three years.
>>154047907A big reason for Amazing Digital Circus becoming so popular is being FREE on youtube. Same to other shit like Helluva Boss. If you request money strictly to be allowed to watch the episodes everyone would be cruel to this show's shoddy writing. Same to other examples like Murder Drones. You can't demand money for trite or people will review it harshly. Few things can get away with this treatment like retarded The Minions and Paw Patrol Movies.Hope that people start to turn away from shitty animated media be it indie or not.
>>154047852I've said this on another thread, and I'll say it again. Screw this thing where writers just try and do a super innovative ending. If you don't have an idea for an actually great ending, just make a standard good ending. Put some action scenes, some drama, some comedy, but ultimately make everyone escape, the end. Everyone is happy, no one will hate you for the ending, life goes on, etc.
>>154051311It is a standard good ending. Plenty of deus ex machina, the abstracted or Kane aren't really dead, they can continue having wacky circus shenanigans only they enjoy it, and their human selves weren't trapped in the first place and live fulfilling lives in the real world.
>>154051307>A big reason for [Circus Shit] becoming so popular is being FREESo they spent their time, willingly, after getting past the abysmal pilot. No standards, in other words. That or naked capitulation, by fan and crew alike, to the castration cult.
>>154050895You sound like a faggot.
>>154051396>And having bastard hacks from Game Grumps?IKR? The most baffling decision IMO was having Arin be the sound mixer, which was the worst choice Ross could've possibly made. Being a friend of Ross is one thing, but having this much involvement? It's a terrible sign of things to come.
Did the leak have the Zach Hadel bit at the beginning?
>>154047852No. If they wanted the movie experience, it should have been a full length feature on its own. It was just a vanity thing from Glitch to try to get into the big leagues.

Remember, criticism of this shitshow means you're bullying a transwoman
>>154051706>masturbators have always been annoying.Agreed, they remind me of the sheep from Animal Farm who bleet "four legs good, two legs bad" to drown out any discussion. (Decided to read it yesterday because I was watching a bunch of adaptations.)

>>154047852camrip???????????
>>154051727Exactly, the original Gameoverse was a Charlie the Unicorn-type show where goofier voices would've made sense. Nu-Gameoverse tries to be as serious as ReBoot, yet Arin's voices largely remained unchanged. Out of all the voices in the entire thing, Snappers was the one with the most effort put into it.
>>154050895ebic win, bro
There’s no reason that Jax dominated 40 minutes and Caine dominated 10 minutes of the finale, both characters were already dead.I think in a longer show, all the Jax flashbacks would have been welcome as a separate episode but as is, it’s unsatisfying. It’s not even like the actual ending part of the ending is bad, but how they got there was just completely lacklustre which a shame because the flashback scenes in there are good but don’t work as a finale
>>154051846He sounded very femboy-ish, which is exactly like the kind of TADC fan I have in my head.

>>154052109Is that Prince?
>>154052260>Goose just wanted to make the death of a self-insert a goddamn jokeYou never see the abstractionsh happen so I doubt it, if anything Queenie's abstraction was treated as much more of a joke.

>>154052633I mean compared against the youtube engagement levels. If you look up TADC fan discussion it's impressive to see it have even a twentieth of the views of the show, I expect that trend to continue once you subtract youtube bots from the equation again.
>>154049182I’m so confused. Why would you look at the leaks? Like why wouldn’t you just look away and not risk anything?
>>154047852they very rapidly accepted eternal life in the digital circus
>>154049088Ok so can they juat... go into abstractions or what? Is the person still in there? What even is an abstraction?
>>154049647>Murder Drones gets better with each episode>TADC gets worse with each episodeHuh. Weird world.
I feel my issues with the ending aren’t the things that happened, but the things that didn’t. Not in a “i made an ending in my head and I’m mad it’s not that” way, but in a “did they just forget about that thing they set up X episodes ago” way.Weirdest is that neither Bubble nor Gumigoo appear in 9 at all, even as just a cameo in the credits of random adventures.
>>154048213I sleep like a baby knowing Gameoverse will not reach the same heights as TADC. I'd kill myself if I saw Gameoverse everywhere as I did TADC.

>>154054205>Didn't know "lightning in a bottle" could be that calculated and Astroturfed...>Everything I don't like is astroturfedIf anything KoG and Gameoverse are more Astroturfed as the former was made because Dana used her industry connections to get Glitch to hire her immediately after she left Disney and the latter not only was rejected for 10 years for being slop no one cares about outside of the catgirl but it already has episodes in production.
I genuinely hate glitch and vivziepop. It's like you stabbed western animation with a ritual dagger so all the festering internet faggotry can infect the body to finally kill off anything not made by anxiety riddled nerds who should have had their heads swirled in a toilet more in high school. Or maybe more like gaping it's anus open so furfags and trannies can fistfuck it into incoherent OC compilations with extremely tenuous premises. And with TADC pushing it forward, everything attached to it gets to win for free. I hate cheap victories and Glitch hands them out like STDs at a Phish concert now. I want trendy internet animation to END. I want character designs based on premises where anything and everything including incoherent mishmashes of quirky bullshit to END. I want obvious furry waifubait to END.I want the object heads to END. I want it's shit amatuer sense of "humor" and drama to END. I want the cringy, anime inspired voice acting to END. I want the entirety of Glitch and everything it enables to GO. AWAY.
>>154054338>>Everything I don't likeGlitch and Goodwin probably weren't even aware of it; Google just boosted the pilot in the algorithm as an act of capitulation to the castration cult, thanks in no small part to the West's "muh representation" psychosis over the last 250 years and the progressive illness it promoted for the same length of time.
>>154054453>I want the entirety of Glitch and everything it enables to GO. AWAY.It's not gonna happen unless the South Korea legal case results in Glitch losing all of their money and declaring bankruptcy.

>>154047852I don’t know if I could review this movie honestly. I had such a unique viewing experience. Not only did the audience have a lot of cosplayers. A stranger held my hand, rested her head on my shoulders, and ate from my popcorn bucket. I found out she was married to a marine and has two children. She kissed me. What the fuck?
Just came from the theater, even though it got leaked and shit, I'd give around a 6 or 7. Even if you really like TADC, it's not worth a ticket unless you want to deal with snot nosed kids or annoying fujo teens screaming at uwu scenes. Watch a camrip or wait til 2 weeks.
>>154053215It was something Pomni is able to do because she's stubborn enough to not give up and caring enough to break through the personas people put up. She learned Jax's backstory and what happened to Ribbit and Kaufmo and tried to comfort him as his mind died before everyone else pulled her out of it using a huge chain of Zooble arms.

The editing was also a bit wonky at points. Aside from that, everything else about the ending made sense and I was entertained throughout it so 7 out of 10 for the first viewing.

>>154055013There's a notable implication in one of his memories of having a conversation with Ribbit. Jax tells her some big secret (we don't learn what it *specifically* was, though the more clear assumption it was the memory shown earlier where he severely injured his mom in an argument). Jax begins to freak out after opening up like this, but then Ribbit says that "[his] secret is safe with me", and puts her ribbon on his head, which causes him to be surprised and blush.

>>154056613Abstraction is a really poorly done concept in the show. And mega confusing since it implies that abstracted people are in a creepy hive mind. >>154056658No, I don't think escaping abstraction would've necessarily made it better. It's an analog to death, because death itself isn't possible here. Esoteric mind files permanently corrupted beyond repair makes for eerie and confusing setpieces, which I enjoyed. Though I think Jax's mind is actually fully fragmented, leaving only his corrupted avatar behind, so Pomni can't dive into his mind again to say hi or anything. Dude's gone, even moreso than the others. It's part of that tragedy. Jax's insecurity caused Ribbit and Kaufmo to meet permanent ends, and then he his own. They can't be saved anymore, they're gone. Kaufmo’s abstraction was implied to be the data the circus annd Caine absorbed to make more capable NPCs. And there was creepy paranormal activity in in episode 7 that implied the abstracted are operating on a totally different lense. And instead, it’s just pure directionless nonsense with a creator that doesn’t want to be consistent about it. The thing is. How I am describing it to you is death. And in that circumstance, Jax has the choice to stay abstracted or go back to Pomni and co. And when he does it, he’ll never see Ribbit and Kaufmo again as the corruptions in the code will be prevented by a fixed Caine. I wanted an adventure that is consistent and fills me with wonders I can’t truly solve. Episode 7 give me a taste of it. Episode 8 felt like it was building to it. And instead, I was fucked and learned what the shit is another stupid trooning story.
>>154056945Anon I think you are too drunk on your headcanons to consider that it's not your show and how the abstractions work is not up to you, it's up to Gooseworx. If she emphasizes it's a permanent end that the players cannot come back from, then it's an analog for death.
>>154049850Pomni is the player character and Jax is the main NPC
>>154057058I don’t care about you and Gooseworx. You both are corrupted creations that will sit down and worship trash instead of burning it down and realizing what could be better. >Ep 7 introduces the idea that Caine is directly responsible for people abstracting by messing with their minds>this idea is never followed up on and Jax abstracts because he's sad>people theorize that Bubbles is the blue AI, since he's the only entity that Caine doesn't seem to actually have control over>doesn't matter because Bubbles never appears again and the blue AI doesn't do anything but be a plot device that Caine throws away because it made him a chud and too powerful or whatever, except that actually he gets the blue AI back and locks it up>Ep 8 introduces a mystery interloper who tricks Kinger into deleting Caine, which could potentially be the blue AI or someone who didn't actually abstract or even someone outside of the simulation entirely>this is never brought up again, Kinger says it was just Caine messing with his hacking attempts>plot that we get can instead be summed up as everyone just dealing with their feelings and Jax gets abstracted while Caine comes back lmaoWell fuck me for wanting things to actually happen in a finale that you're putting in theatres.

>>154057262>Ep 7 introduces the idea that Caine is directly responsible for people abstracting by messing with their mindsThis was only relevant when talking about Scratch. Caine makes it clear that Scratch's abstraction was his fault, and why he kept any further changes to temporary mid-adventure modifiers. What it introduces is that if a person's mind becomes too corrupted from any reason or source, they will abstract. Despair and grief are other sources that introduce that corruption too.

As for why they try on the headset, innate curiousity. >How did they meet IRL?Coincidence and it's ambiguous whether they know each other like that. >Can abstractions be fixed? No, if it were that simple then Caine would've done it but it seems abstraction is akin to data corruption and without backups there's no getting around it>Will more people continue to come into the circus?Maybe, the building is still there, the headset is still there. As for abstractions, seeing as everyone is on the same page now including Caine I don't think things would get dire enough for someone else to break down.>Did Caine cause or force Scratch to abstract? He caused it by accident due to screwing with his scan data too much. I'm not sure why you needed exposition of every minute detail, some things are better left up to interpretation and not all stories need to last forever.
So did Jax hit the "no" button because he didn't want to go back to his real life and have to face what happened to his mother, or because he knew they were just brainscans and "leaving" would essentially be dying? He says he always knew or something when it's revealed that they're just data files
>>154057989Thanks Anon. I am now satisfied.

>>154058133He didn't want to go back. The circus, its inexplicable partial amnesia, and the comic state of things are easy escapes from the life he wanted to forget. If he reveals too much he feels too exposed and pivots to protect his fragile ego, hard rejecting whatever it is that caused him to feel that vulnerable, even if it was in a safe place.Like, he had it all with his friends before. He was good buddies with Ragatha, Kaufmo, and Ribbit, and Ribbit both knew about his sordid past and still accepted him despite it. But it made him feel way too vulnerable and insecure, and he threw all that away. Him learning that Kinger was a real C&A employee was a shock to his worldview, that this wasn't some stupid cartoon, and him learning they were all brainscan AIs and nobody blaming Kinger for killing Caine just convinced him that nothing ever mattered, and he could let go.

>>154054961It’s really about villifying his pre-transition self because being a successful cartoon creator makes him wonder why he bent the knee so damn hard (even if only subconsciously)At the same time emphasizing Jax hard because he wants to create positivity for this symbolic figure, the chaotic trans mind
>>154055822Considering he talks about his mommy issues and that he blurted out the secret in response to her complaining about him not being manly enough, yeah there is a certain implication going on there if Ribbit puts a girly bow on him

>>154058824>it's because you let them live rent free in your head for some reasonThe creator is literally a tranny and called Jax his "self insert".Anyway I think there's some weight to the theory because of the chained up door in his mind that Pomni never gets to see behind that also has the Jax sign on it scratched out. I thought it was easily the best non-Japan ese animated series finale, like ever. Insanely good, emotionally complex, doesn't hold your hand for every choice made, especially with the Jax and Caine stuff. Was very very impressed. Rewatching the show made me realize all the episodes work better with the full context of Gooseworx's vision as well.I think people are judging it for what they thought it should be instead of what the show is, which is a character study and ideation on depression, suicide, and miscommunication. I found the show's ending to be incredibly poignant and melancholic and I can't think of a better cartoon that represents the current time period more than this one.
Pure Cope thread lmao

>>154057989> it were that simple then Caine would've done itFrom what Kinger says the brain files didn't even work in the first place and the whole thing happened because said files were left long enough with a creative AI for it to start figuring them out (and the implication is it was Scratch's gambit in the first place)to the level were he could make them circus characters, so there's the implication he might be able to fix them in the long run as he understands more and more about human minds

>>154060485indeed, on top of that, the momentary internet access suggests to me that the computer was moving or smth

A better episode wouldve been if jax got triggered after caines death somehow but instead of abstracting he becomes the new ringmaster, being even worse than Caine was. Then Caine escapes the recycle bin and helps them stop jax using stuff they learned about him from the real world (honestly id cut that irl shit out completely and skip that). In any case they defeat jax / make him chill out and get used to the circus. Maybe caines blue ai and/or bubble are the new antagonist, boom, setup for more tadc. Could have bubble unleash hell upon the circus and try to ruin it and the cast members too or use the abstracted people against them. Maybe caine makes up for his bad stuff by working with jax to defeat bubble. And then jax gets redemption from the group after helping caine defeat bubble.Caine couldve also sacrificed himself to save the others somehow with some tech jargon bs explanation where he could save the abstracted characters but at risk/cost, himself. Its probably generic in some ways if you pick through it but at least it has a meaningful loss. As it is, literally ANYONE besides those already abstracted wouldve been an improvement if they died, just because itll make it no longer a hugbox where nothing happens.Stories where nothing bad happens (at least not permanently) have no stakes or consequences at all and they make the whole series of events prior ring hollow.A hallmark of a shit writer in this era is authors who cant help killing every character off for the fuck of it or never kill any of them because they dont wanna hurt anyones feelings. No tasteful choices about which survive and which dont and why.Goose is a shit writer
>>154050731The Jax/Pomni stuff is the biggest fumble
>>154060706The funny thing is that he then immediately got an actual heartfelt moment with the moon afterwards that was then completely glossed over. It would've been so easy to just have one of his creations evolving beyond his control and having a dialogue with him act as the trigger for him having a change of heart. Instead he just does exactly what he did at the start of episode 8, but this time it has the opposite effect because whatever. Could've pinned it on Bubble who's the blue AI, but that's either a dropped plot point or was never true in the first place.

>>154060564>i pushed my mom and she fell down>that's why i'm so mean to everyone Did you even watch the movie?
>>154060809>because whateverbecause the first time it got him killed so he took some time off to see how they'd fare without him, which led them throguh a path where they learned and organized to create their own stuff, and kept an abstraction under control when he'd been throwing them away as lost causes. He's a learning AI, of course after that he was gonna come to a different conclusion than the one that didn't work.

>>154063000no but at the same time he alienated Kaufmo almost as badly as he alienated Ribbitits somewhat similar to how Pomni said that, if she had tried to get closer to Jax the last time they spoke, he wouldnt have abstractedim thinking Kaufmo figured out the truth on his own, the brain scans thing, and he sunk into total despair knowing exitting the circus was absolutely impossible
>>154051036They look like theyre waiting to sniff your chair after you get up
>>154062583Is easy to do so. Remember that Christian conservatives expect trans individuals like Gooseworx to accept how they were created by God. It’s trans who think Jax is evil, not normal people who pick on each other all the time.Jax’s general story is inspired by how young millennial males were abused on Tumblr and other early social media for being masculine. Since the creator is trans, he wants to believe he made the right choice by committing identity suicide, but the story of Jax contains an abundance of evidence that he’s wrong.Furthermore, women find his ‘creepy male behavior’ hot, which also shows how broken the narrative is
>>154054645did you get a boner
>>154060588Yeah because Jax threw the bow away and said forget about this conversation. It was clear Jax was running from it.
>>154063256>Jax’s general story is inspired by how young millennial males were abused on Tumblr and other early social media for being masculineJax was explicitly (to him) tormented for not living up to an imagined masculine ideal, not for being masculineHis outward personality for most of the series is an insecure cope very straightforwardly based on him assuming that perceived mockery would continue to be the case if he let people in
>>154055275This would make sense if Leroy at the end wasn't still referred to as he/him, implying that even after he got brainscanned he didn't transition. I think it's likely that Jax has some fruit in his salad but I don't think he was closeted trans.
>>154063000Jax isnt even responsible for ribbit abstracting but the show frames it that way contrary to its core message. All of them are equally responsible but if anyone is to blame its caine.
>>154047907>>154048213But the ending was fitting and besides a couple weird cuts, decent really. A rarity these days. It was good.>>154048762The show actually doesn't go very heavy handed on those things. Goose left it mostly to implication, which can realistically be more multi-faceted and nuanced than what weirdo online (like many here) assume. Very based.
>>154063349The refusal to be more direct with what it was compared to a character like zooble being pretty up front is a themes thing, but he could very easily just have been anything from a classical crossdresser to some variant of femboy to a new age transfuck creature and it wouldn't change the story muchRealistically I don't think someone like that would ever end up being out publicly regardless of what it is
Don't know about you guys, but I loved the ending. Maybe it's because I'm a huge sucker for its themes and I didn't go with any expectations about the storyI'm actually surprised that the ending is apparently divisive, since I can see what Gooseworx was going for and I thought the fans would see the vision, but guess I'm a casual (watched the series after the movie was announced)
>>154053215I like to think abstractions still contain the person. Pomni might be able to re-enter jax and show him his irl self, maybe it would turn him back, or he's stuck, still I think it'd help.

It seemed like a very earnest story with a genuine message to tell based off someone's lived experiences, which is rare in a lot of stories these days.I think it's kind of sad though that this blows a lot of other animated show endings out of the water. Because ultimately it had a lot of weird flaws still. But getting a real story instead of some derivative NuPixar or formulaic industry writer sloppa is so rare that watching something like TADC feels like drinking water in the middle of a dessert.
>>154063427I think Goose actually did a good job with making things implication, showing restraint by not making everything onsidedly gay or trans dysphoria.Zooble is clearly body dysphoric due to her body being based on brainscans, but dysphoria != trans. Dysphoria can be felt by men and women for different reasons, it's up to the individual to cope or work through that mental health issue how they see fit, and truth is, it's not always chopping yer dick or tits off. By leaving it at just implied dysphoria, it allows zooble more than being boiled down to terms and ideologies. Based on goose's characterization.Same with Jax or any other character. I think goose did a good job about making it about feelings rather than absolutes. She didn't take sides, and made a very human story.
>They know there's specific files with everyone's brainscans in them>They have access to the internetWhat's to stop them from tricking IRL Jax into putting the headset on again, looking at the new Jax brainscans, and use that to recompile OG Jax? The Abstractions are basically just them corrupting, right? You could literally just fix OG Jax or extract enough of his memories to put into a new Jax scan to have him back.
>>154063997Caines effect on their well being is fundamentally a mixed bag as established in the first episode when he accidentally killed kaufmo. Whether or not his justification for his adventures and maintaining the circus when the other characters are shown able to create things themselves is another matter entirely. The point i was making completely went over your head. No, another cast member couldnt replace jax or suddenly make things better, but as kinger said "The worst thing you can do is make someone feel unloved." and what we know about abstraction is it almost always happens when characters feel completely isolated. The fact we do not see a hint of their social dynamic it along with what we know heavily implies that the rest of the cast stood by and let her abstract. And we have instances of characters justifying them isolating others like when zooble puts the blame on kaufmo for abstracting, or no one figuring out the darkness thing with kinger, or ragathas entire character ect ect.Its a disappointment that aspect of the show doesnt go anywhere and instead we get the easy way out of it was all jax's fault. Even the sociopathic ai that accidentally murders them on occasion gets closure.

I live in Missouri near the Saint Louis region. Near. Not in. Also strange realizing that Jax was from Wildwood, which is actually a really nice area.
>>154068739>I mean he's the antagonist so that kind of makes him more important in the other characters doesn't itThe way the first four episodes were written, he was just one of six characters in the main cast. His dynamic was different from everyone, sure, but he didn’t feel all that much more important until episode 6, arguably 5. Kinger was shown to have more importance than him by episode 3, and it still felt like he was just one of six different characters, not the second protagonist.
>>1540700905 is the worst by far though.

>>154072529Fair, but I still think that if Goose really wanted Jax to be the second main character, it wasn’t written clearly enough. When he’s with a group, it’s told from the group’s POV, not Jax’s.For a comparison, in Arcane (season 1 at least), the character hierarchy of importance is much clearer. >Vi is the main protagonist, with Caitlyn coming in to serve as deuteragonist in her story>Jayce is a deuteragonist in the show, but the protagonist of the HexTech storyline, with Viktor having deuteragonist duties>Jinx functions as both a deuteragonist and antagonist due to her familial connection with Vi, and serves as a window to the main antagonist of the season SilcoIDK how else to explain it, TADC’s “hierarchy” just feels less clear because it was written more as an ensemble.

>>154065221>>154065550I get in real life you can’t save everyone, but dude this is cartoon escapismI think it would have been more meaningful if Pomni managed to bring him back. God forbid people grow and learn to live in a stagnant world like the show’s moral says or anything
>>154072869What's the point of this screen cap? The Mario movie doesn't have good writing either. It's better but just okay, and it feels less bad because it's not presenting itself as deep or edgy. But the writing is also mid lmao
>>154070236Kinger was involved in making caine, he dragged himself into this.
>>154073814Fixing abstractions most likely involves them choosing to come back since they're at the point of giving up. Something like caine would only convince them to stay in their pseudo animal state as a cope. With the way the darkness works to calm them Kinger seems to have been like a halfway abstraction for who knows how long. He didn't give up fully probably out of guilt and wanting to help.
>>154073993Caine was just supposed to be a generative AI, the brainscan stuff was all Scratch and unrelated to the main goal of the company. Now if you say that Kinger deserves it because he was making generative AI, then based, but saying that it's his fault is a bit much.
>>154074095He still made the ai that tortured them while power tripping. If your kid turns into some freak that kills people over nothing despite you not raising them for that you're still going to be responsible for making him and feel responsible for the killings. You might not like it but he still made caine.
>>154072769You repeated what I said calm down.
FUCK JAX HE'S A FUCKING KEK FAGGOT
>>154074865kek is cuck fuck you 4chan filters
>>154072758>Vi is the protagonist >Jinx is the deuteragonist You got it mixed up there buddy
>>154064029It's the same shit both ways. Leakchads just see it without the scales of the big screen theatrical experience over their eyes.
how does the lamppost make (You) feel?
>>154074303I get what you're trying to say but I don't think your analogy is apt because Caine doing all of this isn't something that should've been possible under any circumstances.I think it's more like if your hamster turns into a freak that kills people.
show really needed at least 3 more episodes to flesh all the characters out
>>154074943gay
>Have all this set up>Nothing matters in the endWOW!
You should've just talked to me man
ribbit deserved better :(
>>154051036Cooper, this is no time for caution
>>154074902They see it in a much shittier context than if they just watched it on youtube, and a lot of them specifically sought out the leaks because theyre just hateful fucks who want to spoil the ending and spread propaganda to convince people its shit before they have a chance to see it
>>154075529I dunno, I saw it in theatres and wound up massively disappointed. Everyone else there loved it though, so it's just a matter of what you liked about the show. If you don't like Jax then you won't like the film because he's the focus of it, and if you do like Jax then you have a good chance of liking it.
>>154047907>fans would be disappointedToo bad it didn't happen. Everyone loved it>B-B-BUT MUH HECKIN TWITTER SOURCE-Social media ain't real life :P
>>154075091You just don't get the DEEP message about human connection written by someone who only ever interacted with their discord clique and their therapist, man.
>>154073942>What's the point of this screen capuse your brain to imagine what the screen has in relation to the phrase "review sites are worthless"
>>154057262>>people theorize that Bubbles is the blue AI, since he's the only entity that Caine doesn't seem to actually have control over>>Ep 8 introduces a mystery interloper who tricks Kinger into deleting Caine,Goose not following up on these two plot threads is criminal storytelling.Someone needs to badger him relentlessly in an interview about this.
This and Hazbin made me realize I should never get invested in a fandombait show ever again.I thought the creators allowing themeselves to be self-indulgent would have led to something more genuine, but it's the exact opposite. It's never about telling an interesting story with a clear vision, these cartoons just create a parasocial following that fills the gaps left by the writers (see how people say "what will I obsess over now?" because they never provide a satisfying narrative).
>>154067178my housemate threw up and shit himself when I said that scene was open to interpretationI basically went through the same shit with a queer rebound girl after my first relationship fell apart (minus the interaction with parents over it) and just locked in as a man who crossdresses for fun sometimes after the initial rush wore off
