Remember when the Illuminati killed Superman's friends and his world and got away with it?

Why is Namor so zesty?

Schiti Syndrome

Hickman's idea of a bad boy. Same vibe from Sinister during Krakoa.

My dude, when is Namor ever not. Making he's particularly flaming here, but cmon.

Sure, Jan.

I see a lot of people shitting on Illuminati for destroying other worlds to save their own, but I've yet to see anyone suggest a better alternative. At least the way they were doing it the other universe and their own remained existent, and the other even got the benefit of not being under a threat from Incursions afterwards. What were they supposed to do? Roll over and let both planets collide, destroying both their universe and the other one?
>>
>>154050648
You aren't confident.
>>
>>154050665
>but I've yet to see anyone suggest a better alternative.
Doom did, at the behest of the plot but the point remains Hickman undermined the very idea of all alternatives being exhausted by concluding the very event with Doom and Molecule Man getting up to it sans the other brains.

What Reed did but faster, or other better super science bs

If I had the body of a superhero I probably wouldn't strut around in a speedo on the regular. Maybe something like this.

Sun God practically soloed them until Strange summoned a Cthuluesque demon to kill him.
>>
It's funny how even as bad as Batman's been (and he's been really fucking shit in the past, with no less than THREE major Justice League fiascos being squarely his fault), he'll never be as bad as the Illuminati.

gillen is the one who likes making sinister his husbando fag.

You know what the better alternative is? Not writing a story where super heroes have to destroy worlds in the first place you monumental retard. This is fiction. Things happen because the writers want them to. There's no "better" or "worse" solution because you concocted a retarded scenario for the sake of concocting a retarded scenario. You could have just as easily made up some techno babble bullshit because it's a fucking comic book. When people call shit like this stupid it's not because we don't like the solution to the problem it's because we don't like the idea of the story in the first place. You're an idiot.
>>
>>154050665
Not writing such a stupidly contrived plot was also always an option, plus "The Illuminati" was one of two dozen retarded ideas Bendis used to ruin comics and assassinate characters over his shitty career.

The Catch .22 situation would have more weight if being forced to commit omnicide several times over literally accomplished anything more than fuck-all and why Doomsday will be VERY controversial among normies and casuals when this gets adapted and the Raimiverse is blown up/erased in the first 5 minutes.

Genocide literally solved nothing either, which is why this whole plot was fucking retarded and grimderp.

Sun God has only fought Hulk before Strange's summon tentacle taped him

I'm not asking about what the writer could have done different. I am asking what the fucking characters in the story, in-universe, should have done different. Yes, Hickman contrived for other solutions like Infinity Gauntlet or Cosmic Cubes or whatever the fuck to not work, but the characters in the story have no clue that the writer is actively screwing them over. And the characters are the ones who routinely get the blame for the actions, sometimes more often that Hickman does himself. So once again, turn on your imagination, put yourself in place of Illuminati and answer me: what, exactly, was a better alternative?
If you keep raving about "but they shouldn't have been written into that situation in the first place" I will consider you the kind of people who can't imagine not eating their breakfast in the morning.
>>
>>154051725
letting Strange rape the planet instead of shooting him would’ve been a good fucking start
If Hickman was going to be stupid and not let him sell his soul to pull a Patrick in the first place he should’ve at least let him finish the job
Instead the Illuminati shot him down and accidentally caused the fucking Black Priests
>>
>>154049235
I miss Namor being fucking based.

>I am asking what the fucking characters in the story, in-universe, should have done different.
Literally ANYTHING it's a comic book! Make shit up! Oh Reed and Tony build a device that will turn the worlds intangible and we need to defend it from Annhilus! It's a stupid story. You don't get to say WELL WHAT ELSE COULD THEY HAVE DONE when you stack the deck
>>

Anon, you sound like you can't take stakes in your comic book story and everything has to end in a kumbaya moment. I get it. It's a comic. They can very easily conjure up bullshit to solve any problem. But that's not the point. The point is that of a moral conflict, of what they can do when there ISN'T a perfect solution to their problem.

Comics are just a medium. Yes, the characters can technically do anything the writer feels like. And the writer may want to put them in certain scenarios to get the audience to think. If the characters were right or if they were wrong. If the characters were able to solve anything and everything so easily, it wouldn't be interesting
>The premise is stupid
Sure, but the premise is still there. I think Civil War's premise is stupid. It was obviously a stupid premise only brought up to justify heroes beating the shit out of each other. I can acknowledge this, and then say that Iron Man made good points but I ultimately side with Captain America.
>>
>>154053330
what stakes? you knew they were never going to reboot with Mister Charts writing the fucking thing

it's just shitty disaster porn
>>
>>154053330
>Anon, you sound like you can't take stakes in your comic book story and everything has to end in a kumbaya moment. I
And you sound like a retard who doesn't know what stakes are. It's a shit story and you fellate it because you think you should.
>>
>>154053537
>>154053592
by this logic none of the Marvel comics have stakes at all because everyone damn well knows none of these characters will ever die or remain significantly altered for good
>>
>>154050665
Dude, it's fucking Dr Strange and Mr Fantastic working together, they defeated omnipotent beings created entire multiverses by themselves and somehow the only thing they can do is murder billions of innocent civilians to save the day.

Now mr fantastic is a genocidal mass murderer who is more evil than Dr Doom (who was actually going after the bad guys at the time rather than killing civilians)
>>
>>154049235
That was one multiversal reboot ago.
>>
>>154054742
That sounds correct. Even people who die get replacements that are treated like the original.
>>
>>154053330
>I can acknowledge this, and then say that Iron Man made good points
He didn't tho he basically wanted to give the goverment a way to get rid of all superheroes at once.

A goverment that works with Roxxon Energy and Oscorp, a goverment that murdered everybody in days of the future past.
>>
>>154054956
I wish we got more of Richards as a mass murderer than more fucking Doom at this point
I’m so bloody sick of Doom
>>
>>154054742
>by this logic none of the Marvel comics have stakes at all because everyone damn well knows none of these characters will ever die or remain significantly altered for good
Yes. That's been the past several decades completely.
>>
>>154057218
They literally just spent two years deep throating the maker.
>>
>>154057564
They deep-throated Doom for that entire time even fucking harder. Did you just completely miss OWUD? if so, I’m incredibly jealous.
