He's right. Why the fuck do comic book companies do this and why do readers continue to read them?
>>
>>154059684
the panel say it helps into make a quickie buck.

Only people buyng is the ones leak the issues online.
>>
>>154059684
>people whine about too many issues making comics inaccessible
>companies relaunch titles so that you have an easy to understand jump in point
>noooooo you can’t do that!

Comic fans are the most whiny bitches on the planet.
>>
>>154059684
I pre ordered Marvel #1000 comic and after finally getting around to reading it, I tore it up and flushed it down.
Worst 10 bucks spent.

You cannot understand business executive logic unless you are so high on cocaine that you're completely out of touch with reality. Behind every decision that makes you ask "Why did they do this?" there is a mountain of cocaine. You see, on your first day as a business executive, they give you a literal bucket of cocaine, and your real job isn't to nurture talent or create quality products or whatever they tell the rabble, it's just to make sure that your coke bucket is never empty, so you can keep snorting coke until you ascend to a higher plane of existence. The entire world exists to facilitate the drug-fueled mania of soulless, nihilistic madmen in expensive suits.

>why do readers continue to read them?
They don't. Every time marvel starts with a new number 1 there's a fast speculator boom but the drop off for each subsequent issue is in a constant state of diminishing returns. Fewer and fewer people stick around for issue 2 and 3.
>>
>>154059835
>people whine about too many issues making comics inaccessible
no what people complain about is all the different tiles and how a story/character jumps from one book to the next
>>
>>154059915
People absolutely whine about how you can’t know where to begin when Detective Comics has over thousand issues
>Baaawwww there’s too many options!
>You can’t have same character show up in multiple titles! That’s confusing!
In the era of Google, countless collections and information, this shows how pampered babies people are when they need everything to be spoonfed and someone to hold their hand to read a fucking comic book. It’s comic fans purposefully bending over backwards in hyperbolic fashion making everything sound impossible when it’s not. You’re just goddamn lazy and don’t want to read anything, you just like bitching about how you wish you could do something without ever actually bothering to do it
>>
>>154059684
Because they prey on people, who believe that #1 can be a valuable collector item. They buy every cover, put them in plastic box, and then demand 70+$ for it on ebay, because "dude, it's a collectors item!". And then they sit on them for decades, because no normal person wants to buy a comic they can only lick through plastic.
>>
>>154059835
How does it feel to be retarded, good? People treat you well?
>>
Marvel wasn't relaunch heavy till Reborn and Quesada used MK as a excuse.
DC usually wait. Nu52 happened with many series with 50-200 issues, Rebirth relaunch happened with most of the series hiting the 50 issues, Dawn of DC/All in relaunch happened with many series having like 100 issues relaunch or with the comic not getting an ongoing recently. And with Next Level they didn't relaunch the series but put a Label yelling you that a new arc started.
Franchise like transformer, archie or GI are easy to follow
>>
>>154059684
>and why do readers continue to read them?

It doesn't work that way.
The #1s are speculator bait and justify paying for more variant covers. Then there's a dropoff after #1.

In the past it used to work to get a boost in sales but no longer a guarantee. On Liefeld's podcast there was a retailer who said that his Wolverine and X-Men sales were better in the 00s. Now he says there's people who bought a Wolverine comic for a cover, and then don't come back for the next issue; and that a lot of customers dropped X-Men to wait till they do a relaunch that they like. You can argue till you're blue in the face about whether this is a thing but if this was working, they wouldn't have needed to cancel comics at issue #10 and then change it to cancel comics at issue #5
>>
>>154059835
>>people whine about too many issues making comics inaccessible

The only people doing that, are the people who don't actually read comics and are likely corpshills. They all write the same "no one can read a thousand issue" slop complaint.
>>
>>154059859
>10 bucks
Are you fucking serious?
>>
>>154060303
Entirely normal for a extra large comic
>>
>>154060347
That's a ripoff.
>>
>>154060606
>Why are you asking me to pay three times the price for a comic that’s three times the normal size?
>>
>>154059955
>That’s confusing!
it is when it interrupts a storyline from the character's book and you have to jump to the other character's book
>Baaawwww there’s too many options!
it's more a matter of being able to sort them chronologically
>>
>>154060621
It's oversized too? I didn't know that.
>>
>>154060637
>BUT CROSSOVERS

Then don’t fucking buy the crossover story. Stop being a baby. People who read superhero comics like crossovers. Don’t like it? Then don’t read it. Problem solve. Or buy in trade, you stupid bitch.
>BUT I NEED TO CRY ABOUT IT
No, you don’t. Fuck the right off.
>>
>>154059684
I've complained about #1's and constant relaunches but Kirkman is one of the last people I want to hear it from. Even if he's right he still sounds like a faggot.
>>
>>154059835
It doesn't help that it's all capeshit.
Imagine if literally all manga were the same genre and featured the same characters since fucking WW2.
It's a spiritually and intellectually bankrupt genre
>>
>>154060886
If he's Invincible how come I can still see him?
>>
>>154060684
>Then don’t fucking buy the crossover story
the crossovers can be rather relevant to what comes after in the characters book, you are being very disingenuous
>>
So what does Kirkman do instead? Here's a couple examples.

Oh so now you’re whining that you’re missing something but also you refuse to read that crossover because baaaawwwww I don’t wanna? Sounds like you’re just being a whiny cunt who wants to complain. Why can’t you just buy a trade that collects everything? How is that an impossible task for you?
>>
>>154059955
start with #1. simple as
>b-but batman didnt appear until 27-
nigga shut up Slam Bradley rules and so does my man the Crimson Avenger.
>>
>>154062022
>start with #1.
#1 what though some of these characters are older than companies currently publishing them
>>
>>154062022
Most people are not interested in reading 87 year old comics because of the limited art and dated storytelling
>>
>>154062022
>start with #1
that doesn't always work, for example Dr Strange first appeared in Strange Tales #110
>>
>>154059684
Was this around the New 52?
Cause nowadays I associate starting a new #1 more with Marvel than DC.
Not like DC doesn't do it, they still do, but with Marvel it's extra egregious.
>>
this is why anime and manga dwarfs the comic book industry.

>Why the fuck do comic book companies do this
Because they're run by Jewish pedophiles
>and why do readers continue to read them
Because capeslop faggots are brand loyalist sheep who can't think independently
>>

>didn't read the post

>season 3 establishes that Allen's telepathy implant can't be used for many people, only 1 conversation at a time between him and someone else
>suddenly in season 4 everyone can talk in space
>there is a scene where telia gets all the people on board the venture to get an implant, but that doesn't explain the viltrumites having them, nor does it explain how space racer was able to hear both allen and nolan when they showed up to steal his weapon
>also "well le viltrumites have special tech so they always had them" also doesn't make sense, because they would have heard allen and nolan talking in the prison
Kirkman is so lazy. I know it's plot convenience, but can't they at least try to explain shit better? Even the fact that English is the galactic language and somehow even Martians who had no contact with any other planet also somehow knew English. It was a perfect excuse to world build with some lore about an alien species that conquered the universe way back in the past that had spread English to every planet, but is so far back not a single living being remembers their existence, but no it's just handwaved away and made into a 4th wall joke every time a new alien race shows up. Fucking hacks.

Comics have always been for the brain damaged. A story should never have multiple writers, especially when so many of them are faggots who want to push their own agendas or character assassinate every chance they get. It's fun to come up with multiverses where things are different as a fan, it should have never become something that actually gets printed though. It's why comics will never be seen as anything but stories for children and will never be taken seriously. The industry is full of retarded secondaries that are too incompetent and unimaginative to create their own stories so they have to latch on to stories written by better writers to leech off it's success.
>>
>>154062823
Imagine being a comic book writer or even an animation adaptor and watching Manga dwarf your entire industry that is full of subhuman tranny nigger bullshit. Not a single comic book adaptation will ever be as well animated as even the shittiest budget anime, not even the best episodes of Invincible. No comic book story will ever outsell the most popular manga. How does the west even cope when Asian comics and video games are consistently beating all western slop time after time? They must all have a cuckold fetish. At least cartoons are their own thing and fill their own niche and a lot of them are well animated too. Western 2d media deserves it's rightful place at the bottom of the slop pile after they did Disney dirty.
>>
>>154059835
>companies relaunch titles so that you have an easy to understand jump in point
It back fires when characters have a dozen number 1s and when those number 1s aren't actually fresh starts lol. Really they should only do that every decade or so.
>>
>>154060962
The fuck is going on with those lenses?
