Finally saw the movie. What the hell was all the internet crying about? The movie was as expected. Soild but unpolished. Too many talking "cinematic" moments. I understand why since it's a small team but they could have done more show not tell. I'm shocked I called it with jax being a kid. The theme of not losing hope or relying on negative emotions was fine but it really hurts zooble, gangle, and ragatha. Made them feel very reactionary. Jax got way too much development for the cast. Overall not a waste of money. The 10 minute scene of kid jaxs getting molested by his mom was unnecessary though. Also, all the people there were middle aged adults or couples. I thought they were gonna be like you guys.

I honestly was never impressed with the writing in this show, it was mainly carried by the animation and voice acting (also a sucker for escape room plots). So the finale wasn't a "disappointment" in that it was at a roughly similar quality as the rest of the show, on average.But it does baffle me how the abstractions just go unaddressed. Jax abstracts off-screen and then he's just stuck like that, forever. If you're gonna go the predictable route and have everyone just be happy with what they have, at least commit to the happy ending. That's something even video games with weak writing understand.Also they ripped off The Hollow lol. Like they ripped off the twist of the second season almost verbatim, in a much worse way, and that show didn't even have incredible writing to begin with.

Since his experience up to that point is him opening up and getting shitted on because of that. I felt very mixed with how it ended regarding the abstracted. I loved that Cane wasn't gone and how he developed. However, I was seriously expecting:>doing slideshow part>shows Kinger part>his eyes light up as it shows Kingers wife part>Queenie puts his hand on Kinger>everyones shocked>Cane pulls up the slideshow>reveals all the people that were abstracted were on stage>big celebration>they all go and find Jax in the tent>Ribbit, Pomni, Kaufmo, and Ragatha help cox him out>big hug with all of them>happiest ending
