Parodies more well-known than their originators

The Question is still pretty relevant compared to other Charlton characters

but even normies know about Rorschach.

Isn’t the question a girl now? And also a lesbian?

Would've posted Orpheus but he's become more well-known since his debut
Highly doubt any random off the street knows Dr. Druid though

They've definitely passed this threshold with younger Gen Zs right?
>>
>>154073762
Not really. Maybe back when the movie came out but normies would at best know the image they wouldn't really know the character
>>

The entire Flintstones were a parody of I love Lucy.

Blue Beetle is really well known. Maybe because he is now connected to Booster Gold and a lighttower for bromance?
And Captain Atom is still used, sadly most for jobbing.

That fact leads to a sub fact.
I hope a future Scooby thing pays this off, but if they wait too long I doubt it will land.

Fred's brother died in the unreleased pilot episode
>>
>>154073762
Yeah but this is a comicboook board since 2006, so that normalfag stuff doesn't apply here. The QUestion is still more well known.
>>
>>154078715
>Blue Beetle
Speaking of, did you know the original had a radio show?
>>

This image is fucked up. It's reminiscent of that Stalin photo and how his aides are gradually removed with each new version until it's just Stalin by himself.

Isn't Chuck E. Cheese well-known?

I wouldn't say Ted is really well know. His peak was a well done but niche incarnation of the League that had a few great years in the 80's.
>>154079348
>>154080459
I think the ironic thing is that the first Blue Beetle is probably the most popular the character has ever been, and yet that original incarnation isn't even the one tied to the later ones. Charlton reworked him when they (dubiously) bought the rights, so the Dan Garett tied to Ted Kord and Jaime Reyes isn't even the actual original.

>>154078889
>Yeah but this is a comicboook board since 2006,
>The QUestion is still more well known.
This is a HUGE stretch, a good deal of Question fans here just care about his JLU version and think none of his comic incarnations are good.
Watchmen is one of the most consistent selling comics of all time, so even just measuring comic fans, that's sold way more than any Question comics.

>Isn't Chuck E. Cheese well-known?
Yeah, in the US. There are millions of people around the world who've never been to one but know FNAF.

And I'd say even in America, animatronic mascot restaurants are a mostly bygone 80s/90s/00s kid thing so if you were born after that and had access to the internet there is chance you know FNAF but not Chuck E Cheese
>>
>>154080897
There is Chuck E. Cheese in other countries.

Tons of old cartoon stuff falls into this.
Most people don't realize Steamboat Willie is a parody of Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill, Jr. (Although most people probably know about the house front falling around Keaton gag).

Only in the Middle East and LATAM. And those are recent.

Ted is well known. He is constantly popping up. But i agree that he is a supporting character.

Yeah, the first Blue Beetle was much more popular. At least thats what the radio show suggests.

FNAF is a weird case, because 9 times out of 10 the kids that tend to be passionate about this series also tend to be into animatronics in general. The series is practically built in such a way that you sort of need to know about the history of Showbiz Pizza/Chuck E Cheese just to make sense of the story of the games.

I'm almost certain the push for practical effects and animatronic preservation in the modern era was kickstarted by fans of the series.

Venture Bros. is full of pop and /co/ references and some of them are pretty obscure. It's practically cheating.

Bugs also annihilated the reputation of a famous biblical king with a single sarcastic joke towards Elmer.
