With the success of TADC and the animation industry in shambles, is it safe to say we're in the golden age of online animation? Will it start eclipsing some television shows and movies in popularity and influence?
>>

No and no
TADC is the exception, not the rule.
>>
no, it's too hard to raise money to make a show. Circus Universe is a FORCE, which isn't bound to rules of the game

Xer fans went insane. You think others are gonna risk it?

>online animation can only be deemed adequate when television is in the shitter
Seems like a self own

that's a good thing

Did people learn nothing from the "influencer" boom?
When e-celebs proved to both be a viable revenue source and a potential threat to traditional media, traditional media basically moved in to completely restructure it towards something resembling a pipeline to traditional media complete with talent agencies.
That same shit will happen here.
If Indie Animation is a threat, the mouse is already planning to neutralize it via simply reincorporating it into their own business model in one way or another.
I think Vivzie and Amazon Prime is a pretty good example of where things are headed

More or less, IMO.
On one hand, in theory, anyone can make a cartoon on their own nowadays, release it on youtube, and it might get some traction, which was something unheard of before, but on the other hand, it is a very unstable career.
Illustration-based careers in general tend to be unstable, but I think in the past, if you could secure a spot in an animation studio, you'd be more likely to be good for a while.
So in short, I think it is less stable, but it is easier for people nowadays to risk it and do their own thing.

But I don't know, this is just my own perception.

This sounds like a setup to her being pimped out on a chatroom

This. We're never getting a true golden age as long as corporations keep co-opting anything even remotely resembling competition.

I could see Dana wanting to pull off a similar thing with KOG. Like, it'd be almost a dream come true if she did a movie release against a Disney film and made more money than it.

Considering she spent most of her teens on forums and chatrooms, that may have happened at some point in her life.

Corporations seem committed to the whole AI thing, even if it doesn't prove to be successful. Indie animators seem reflexively anti-AI. Would that mean that they'd have to give up AI and pull like an A24 type thing for indie animation?
>>
>>154078153
Yeah, I mean it's only getting better numbers than the latest Star Wars, like, whatever

Two, actually. Maybe three, considering the new one has been more successful than the first.

Do you think the ones who "made it" in the industry and can get the capital for more indie types might try to drop a ladder or make things more stable for others trying to go indie? I mean, SBA seems to be trying that by going through Glitch and retrying her hand at Enceladus V after working on Dana's show.

Modern Star Wars sucks; so that's not really a hard achievement
>>
It's just me but I think I'm tired of Meredith's style and chungustry. No offense, good luck to her etc.

>Golden age
OP, the golden age was 20 years ago. We’re in the bronze age now. Don’t use terminology you don’t understand.

Can their success make it rain on other indie creators or create a fund for those creators to tap into?
