Finished the free episodes on Disney Now. Excellent animation, great background art and good music, but everything else is very flawed. I'll admit that by the end, I got warmed up to the world due to the vibes, but every character is very plain. They're either bully assholes or the goodest kids you've ever seen. So it's a battle between the assholes and the boring, hard to pick a team. Favorite character was definitely Odward, who was in the middle, which is where every other character should have been. Outside of him, the only character with depth was his asshole ex-boyfriend, who broke up with him for no good reason, so he barely counts.I assume the reason they made this is to create a story where everything is against the main character. But by doing so, you create a bunch of well-designed and unlikable jerks I don't wanna see. I don't even care about the main heroes "beating them", as they only beat them in sports, not in any way that matters. And the way they beat them is often convenient and luck-based; you don't get to see them get better at their powers much beyond talking about the power of friendship.That said, it did had its moments, episode 3 was genuinely great, and despite their blandness, I don't hate the main team, they just don't do much for me outside of the basics (with the exception of Odward). Hell, it'd be better with him as a lead, but I guess Disney isn't as "woke" as people think to do that. It's mostly a decent and inoffensive show with the best animation a Disney show's ever had, but very awkwardly wants to have an epic shonen cast, yet writes all of them as the same asshole archetype as the main rival. Hoping the next episodes fix this issue.

Finished the season. Overall, a pretty cute and fun show, though the writing is very basic for most of it.
