I hate the rules about how Sonic should be made. It sounds like Sonic fans who bought into the haters’ nonsense and started analyzing what’s “bad” about the series. Like, the “belly” is in bad taste because it’s American, and American is bad. Actually, most of the criticism points out that everything bad is American, with the exception of maybe SATAM. Sonic’s slender body in SA? America’s fault. Shadow being edgy? America’s fault. And like, Sonic was always made to pander to Americans and also Japan. That mix has always made the series unique among others. The series has had a few missteps, very few, in its nearly 40-year history. But I think most of the criticism is unfair. And if you like it, you make it yourself, which is the best thing about the Sonic community: this DIY passion for the franchise. And people do it for free.
