This keeps the metagame fresh and evolving as older sets drop out of the format and newer sets enter into it. Also, obviously, gets you to keep spending money. Standard uses normal 60-card decks you make yourself.Some products, despite being recently released, are not Standard legal. This allows them to have more varied card abilities and a wider range of older card reprints that don't have to be accounted for in format playtesting.If you're just playing in casual settings, you don't need to worry about any of that.Jumpstart Boosters, instead of containing a random assortment of cards, contain a random 20-card half-mini-deck. The intention is that you and an opponent each grab two Jumpstart boosters, combine your cards together into a 40-card mini-deck, and play against each other with your randomly-made decks. The cards are still just normal cards and can be used in other ways. So there's actually TWO Marvel sets: one for Standard (A), and one for other ways to play (B).Playing Standard: only (A).Playing in other ways: (A), (B), or (A+B)
