Realistically, what do you think the Monarch would've done had Rusty become an actual supervillain per Killinger's suggestion?
Become a hero.
Malcolm was better as the Blue Morpho than he ever was as the Monarch
>>154131485In terms of what, competence or hilarity?
>>154131445fpbp
>>154131445This.Not only that, he would be a better hero then Rusty could ever hope to be. Consequently, Rusty free from his pseudo morality constraints would be a world level threat that the guild of callamatis intent would elect as leader and follow in fear. Would be a funny episode or short plotline of a season
>>154131445This>>154131485Blue Morpho is by far my favorite arc for a character, let alone venture brothers. I love it way more than Seth Rogan movie. On a side mote I find it funny how you just kind of assume since Monarch theme is butterfly he knows more about them, so it made me laugh he didn't know what a blue morpho was. I think Blue Morpho and Kano was peak Gary and Malcom buddy system.
>>154131537Rusty is basically Hank Pym, a hero that would make a much better villain.
>>154131700>Rusty>hero
>>154131445That would complicate his relationship with Dr. Mrs. The Monarch.
>>154132119"Not as much as you'd think. We've got a real Batman/Catwoman, thing going." "You are such a dork.."
>>154131428>>154132119Rusty going villain would mean brock would have to leave since he’s osi. This would complicate things
>>154131537Damn I like this idea. Its be cool to see an restrained motivated by all his negativity rusty and a heroic in spite of himself monarch.I wonder how hank and dean would take it.
>>154131428We speed up the blue Morpho ark
>>154132119A little bit but nothing they've never dealt with before. The real drama would be >>154132275.OSI might just straight up not even allow Rusty to do that. The son of the agencies most infliuntial member would be a MASSIVE PR nightmare.
>>154132336Didn't think about thatThey might have brock pull a sandow but for real this time
Villains can still arch each other casually and the guild doesn't seem to interfere directly. At the very least, The Monarch wasn't bothered at all by stealing from Hatred and the guys in jail were happy to let him get his ass beat and only a last second change of gorilla heart saved him. I like the idea of him going hero but lets be real, that hate is would still drive him more than any notion of doing good even if that was a secondary motive to go after Venture.
>>154132336>>154132358As if Rusty hasn't filled Brocks body with all sorts of kill switch doodads just in case he went rogue. Remember the one place Rusty actually excels in is Bio Science.
>>154132436Nah, brocks plot armor is like the strongest of anyone in the whole series no way doc could ever threaten him in any real manner. Plus I feel like brock would know and it or it would just fail if rusty tried it
>>154132409lots of heroes are driven by hatred: Frank Castle, Rachel Cole-Alvarez, the modern X-Men, Batman, you know, lots of them
>>154132119She'd protest at first, but then get totally into it and dial up the "villainess reverse corruption" roleplay when they fuck.
>>154131445That would completely be missing the point of Venture Bros.
>>154131537Would make a good “What If?” special/movie.
>>154132275Or Rusty convinces Brock the OSI is corrupt and gets him to go rogue. Brock as a villainous right hand (hench)man is a pretty terrifying thought.
>>154132878No?
>>154131428I'm not exactly certain why Rusty would even need to be a villain, he could have just continued doing villainous stuff while being with OSI. His dad did all kinds of villainous stuff while working with OSI.
>>154133246That was kind of the point. Rusty was always capable of going fully supervillain, he just never crossed that line because not only did he have no drive to, he was basically living in the perpetual shadow of his father to the point it influenced the few moral lines he refused to cross. All Dr. Killinger was doing was basically telling Rusty that he had to either embrace his father's legacy via supplanting him and killing Jonas Jr, or build himself up as his own man. It was less about Rusty not being able to do what he wanted, it's more about the fact he was wasting what potential he had out of fear of being a bad person like his dad. If he did go supervillain, he'd probably be the equivalent of when Norman Osborn was in charge of SHIELD, being able to effortlessly manipulate the fuck out of OSI and the Guild due to his knowledge of how they think and the walls they built to protect themselves, and probably would have become just as big a danger to the world as his dad if not worse since he doesn't have a reputation to uphold.
>>154131428>>154131445Unironically yes, the fact that he actually did become a superhero in the show in an attempt to regain his ability to arch Rusty means he's not really opposed to it. Granted, his version of the Blue Morpho identity was essentially just a bizarre Punisher who didn't really aim to do anything other than murder a specific list of villains and if successful he'd just go back to being the Monarch again, but if he needed to be a "hero" full time just to arch Rusty, he'd do it because he just hates Rusty that much. Then again... Killinger did also mentor The Monarch and told him he needed to stop arching Rusty to be a successful villain... Did Killinger know? Did he know they're clones of the same person? Was Killinger guiding Rusty and Malcolm to be the Twin Headed Wyvern of Conquest? Descendants of Lloyd Venture reclaiming the Guild?
>>154133441NICE ass, Malcolm...
>>154133441
>>154131736He is, my stretching definition and minimally meeting the requirements, a heroOr by the OSI-GOCI treaty diction, a protagonist
>>154134442It's the one part of his body that he puts any work into. His wife loves it.Speaking of which, the two are swingers, he's seen her suck a man dry and had breakfast the next morning, who does SHE like seeing him do it with?
>>154134473you're wearing my teeth as a necklace and telling me you look pretty! just call him a good guy!
>>154134632Eeeehhh
>>154133441I love how this tattoo was just a humble brag of scoring with dr girlfriend and tricking phantom limb in the same night
>>154131428every Killinger episode is solid gold.
>>154134539Me
>>154131504Definitely the former, a little bit of the latter.
>>154135629I really like the Venchmen uniform.
>>154133230OR Henchman 21 steps up his game and he and Brock become arch-nemesis.
>>154132409>the guys in jail were happy to let him get his ass beat and only a last second change of gorilla heart saved himThat's from way before all the guild stuff mushroomed and became so important in the seires.
>>154137199>21 and 24 are still a weird, genre-savvy blend of ineffectual and invulnerable, but now they’re on the side of the angels, keeping Monarch’s mad science impulses in check>Brock is still competent and deadly, bringing out the worst of Rusty, and it’s only their leaning too hard into predictable villainy tropes that lets 21 and 24 foil their schemes
>>154137591Hmm, imagine if rusty and brock reverted to their pilot and very early eps personalities, rusty becoming a pill-addicted orphan harvester again and brock going back to being a literal frothing berserker.
>>154138028God, it is weird to remember just how fucked up they were in season one.
>>154138028Henchman 21 becomes Agent 21 with 24 being a Deathlock style cyborg.Brock becomes Savage Sampson a terrifying mix of punisher and wolverine enhanced with rusty's inhuman super-science.
>>154138175Tbf, it's mostly just the pilot iirc, they still have a little of it but I think doc's not doing the pills even by the end of the season (also I think in story he had been taking them mostly to deal with the dreams from jj in his body)I can remember brock frothing at least once more than the pilot, uhh maybe the tijuana episode. That all said, the orphan heart thing is pretty nuts even for early Rusty. I always assumed he like got it off the black market or from a dead one he found somehow rather than fucking killing a child or something>>154138215Enhanced brock would be a fucking menace in the venture universe. Seriously, regular brock is already pretty much superhuman, like you know how some people argue batman's feats suggest he's really a metahuman? Brock has done some insane shit like survive in the void of space and just busting through a car windshield and catching that jetpack and piloting it by riding it. I can't recall a time when it looked like brock was actually in danger of being killed, he's like the most powerful motherfucker in the show by far. Hell he really didn't even get beat often.
>>154131537I really would love a What If of this. However I think Rusty would just drive the Guild into the ground like he did with Venture Industries and VenTech. He would be lazy, fire essential people because he thinks he knows better, half ass everything, and push customers into the hands of the competition by being mean and obstinate.
>>154131537>Rusty free from his pseudo morality constraints would be a world level threat that the guild of callamatis intent would elect as leader and follow in fear. Please, he is a failed scientist. He would botch the job and get arrested by the OSI or worse in no time.>TeleportationThe fact he wasn't paid hush money or anything, even when theoretically means he could maybe create something worthwhile one day...nah.
>>154131485>>154131445Honestly, I don't even think he'd be the Morpho. He wasn't aware of the fact that his father was the Blue Morpho until after he went spelunking in his basement and 21 spelled it out to him.
>>154136856Pitching or catching?
>>154139148Depends
>>154131537>Not only that, he would be a better hero then Rusty could ever hope to be.I mean yeah. No shit.
>>154131445Would make for an entertaining new arc I'd watch it
>>154134632.........SPHINX!
>>154132834>Fetish Acquired
>>154142593I am pleased to have bestowed my burden upon you, Anon. You will have to write your own porn for this. There is literally nothing.
