so this was a huge waste of time. they should have just made ultimate spider man a alternate universe spider man book in its own little pocket universe like renew your vows. the rest of the books really didnt need to exist
>>154134942The real world time passing in between issues gimmick handicapped the writers and screwed with the pacing.
>>154134942It was thoroughly awful. I can't believe people ever defended The Ultimates in particular.
>>154135030yes i think everyone pretty much agrees there but even without that gimmick the stories they were telling just werent that interesting. it was obvious a major selling point for fans was the ultimate spider man book and peter being older married and with children. i only read the first 4 issues of ultimate black panther but from what i hear from people who stuck with it it could have just been another run in the main universe nothing really "ultimate" about it . peach girls was a cute book and a fun experiment but overall its not worth reading all that much
>>154134942I liked Richard in USM.
>>154136089i didnt
>>154134942I still believe 90% of the initial positive opinions on this line were made exclusively because Peter and MJ were together. USM was so boring
Maystorm will forever be my waifu.
I hate polish pedophiles.
>>154136869is it true she is going to 616
As a complete story, Ultimate Spider-Man is lousy. Peter Parker himself is useless. Every victory ultimately goes to someone else.Camp spelled it out in Endgame. 6160 Peter wasted his life and he died for nothing.
>>154137321he died? when?
>>154136106One month timeskip every issue hurts his character a lot. Look, Richard is suddenly using the black suit for spider-mannning while Peter is away. Hey, Peter is back and Richard is still getting to be Spider-Man. Should Peter really allow that? Are they going to talk about it? They already did and we skipped it? Maybe? Hey, Richard got betrayed by Black Cat. Wait, things are okay with her again? The whole thing jumps around too much in a way that hurts the comic's ability to tell a story.
>>154134942Ultimate Black Panther was the best Black Panther book since Priest. The only worthless book was Ultimate Wolverine.
>>154137993im sure people will criticize me for this but i wasnt into the idea of petes kid being a superhero and like youre saying the acceleration of things only furthered my dislike of it. instead of having time to even think how i feel about it he keeps getting more and more and jumping around like you said. i want to read about peter being a superhero and like a lot of people said it doesnt really happen that much in this book and shit just keeps jumping forward. maybe i would have come to like it but it all happened so fast
>>154137864Endgame #3, affirmed in #4.
>>154135030>>154137993Restrictions don't make bad writing. Bad writers make bad writing.>>154135121I quit Ultimate Universe after Ultimate Spider-Man #6 because I saw where it was going. I genuinely can't believe how much love a shitty series like Ultimates ended up getting. Really shows you the power of politics being more important than anything else.>>154135264UXM was a manga being released monthly instead of weekly, and it sucked.>>154136731That's exactly what happened and it is always what happens. Marvel makes these married series as release valves.
>>154138116If you told me when the book began that fighting Shocker was going to be the most standard supervillain fighting Peter was going to be doing for most of the book, I wouldn't have believed it.
>>154138362no one would have
>>154138207>Endgame #3oh . i stopped reading the universe entirely after the last issue of USM
>>154138021They were all completely worthless.
>>154138234>Restrictions don't make bad writing. Bad writers make bad writing. This!
>>154134942I like Richard desu. If him and May do end up in 616 I want them far away from Peter and NYC desu. I don’t know have him be in the west coast as the only Spider-Man representative and have his story be a somewhat inverse of Peter and Aunt May except instead of caring for his elderly Aunt he’s instead having to care for his little sister. Hell have him be part of the West coast Avengers.
>>154137321How do we know that Maker wasn't lying?
>>154138207Ah, okay.
>>154141156>lyingHe's just taunting him, but I think Camp genuinely thinks this.
>>154140823i didnt care for it but im glad someone did
>>154142147Here's the thing, though: even if it's wrong or false, even if there is actually a good reason that Peter was at the top of the list and he genuinely does have a grand destiny to fulfill, THE MAKER LITERALLY HAS NO REASON WHATSOEVER TO TELL HIM THAT. Considering that Peter is one of the people who were there specifically to defeat the Maker, it's entirely in the latter's interests to demoralize the former by telling him he doesn't matter, even if it's a lie. What's he supposed to do, say that Peter actually is capable of defeating him and inspire a heroic second wind?
>>154134942Most Spider-Man comics after OMD and Earth-1610 Peter getting replaced by Miles Morales are a waste of time. They're symptomatic of the deeper rot in Marvel as a whole.
>>154134942Didn't they recently kill spider man and decapitate Captain America? this really was a waste.
So is Ultimate Mary Jane a widow now? You’re telling me that there’s a chance!
>>154142632This is cope considering how easily Maker was able to kill him. The order of the list didn't matter. He's not going come back to life and save the day in the last issue. He's outclassed by a ton of other characters there. "Spider-Man ain't shit" was one of the themes of 6160.
>>154143855If Peter really was a threat to the Maker, do you believe that the Maker would admit it to Peter's face?
>an hour and a half later>still no answerI rest my case.
>>154145009Which one?
>>154135030The idea is sound, it's supposed to be a call back to silver age books that happened in real time. But the writers or editors also decided to still write for the trade
>>154146515I'm >>154144125
>>154147298Oh, I don't know.
>>154140823i want him in nyc, just because i want everyone to say "the new black spider-man is so much cooler than the old black spider-man"
>>154148194Okay, then let's figure it out with the little-known power called logic. What kind of person is the Maker? He's not exactly the humble type. On the contrary, he has a massive ego. He's a megalomaniacal narcissist who thinks he's unbeatable, because he thinks he'll always be several steps ahead of his enemies. He refuses to even acknowledge the possibility that they can win against a mastermind like him. So that brings me back to my original question: would such a person admit to one of his enemies that they have a chance to defeat him if that genuinely was the case? Yes or no?
>>154149199Maker immediately killed him effortlessly. He was gloating, rubbing salt into the wound. 6160 Peter was a loser who died like one.
>>154149455That doesn't answer my question. If Peter could actually kill the Maker, WOULD THE MAKER FUCKING TELL HIM THAT? YES OR NO? IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING HARD. ONE WORD. YOU CAN DO IT.
>>154140823>instead of caring for his elderly Aunt he’s instead having to care for his little sister.I really like this idea
>>154150360shut up paedo
>>154150230I don't know why this is so important to you, it doesn't matter. 6160 Peter is dead and the universe is ending, he won't be coming back.
based and correct
>>154153378YES. OR. NO?
Cletus should make his Carnage return entrance by carrying the head of Miles Morales before eating it as a whole in front of The Maker to make up for failing to kill Peter Parker as the host of the symbiote before someone else does, especially a multiverse refugee.
