A lot of them usually seem to gravitate to 'a man's man' types, so body hair makes you seem more rugged than most.

I never EVER show off my body in public if I can help it but I've gotten complimented by gay guys regardless, so if you have good hygiene with a decent build and style you can pull easily. Seriously, lightly trim your groin, doesn't have to be bald just approachable

It helps to that they seem to hookup more easily than straights.

Keep in mind this is just my perspective.

Also, don't overuse conditioners on your body hair, you need to let your pores breath so you don't get them clogged or smell like a wet sponge. Use a less than you think, wash slowly.

Soap then wash then Conditioner than wash.
